I've just come back from Zante and had the best holiday ever!!! I went with 5 other girls and we had such a good time. I had read reviews on here of Dimis and was fully expecting it to be awful but it's really not that bad. The pool and bar area are great and the bar staff very friendly. Rooms can't really be classed as self catering so be prepared to eat rubbish/eat out a lot, we ended up eating mostly at the pool bar. The rooms could be cleaner but ours was fine and we had our towels and bins emptied twice in the week we were there. Yes there are rats at the back of the apartments, we were on the ground floor so pretty concerned one would find it's way into our room but as far as we know we were ok ha! I thought it was an ok distance to the main strip, 15-20min walk, wouldn't want to be much closer due to the noise but we did usually get a taxi back after a night out which was 6 euros so not bad. Overall we found it to be fine for what we wanted, you've just got to not let little things annoy you, concentrate on having a great holiday! (we had a tour rep who was pretty helpful - don't get sucked into the 99euro deal though it's SO not worth it)

- Generally filthy
- had to ask for mops and brooms myself when we arrived so i could attempt to clean the room
- the reception staff were rude and didnt respond to our requests for clean sheets or towels, nothing was changed for a whole week!
- the shower fell on top of me when i got in it
- the door didn't lock properly
- the lights were hanging of curtain hooks, and one of them almost fell on my friend
- there were bare wire hanging out of the walls, and only one working plug socket
- you could cook a slice of toast in the so called kitchen; which consisted of one dirty hob, a tiny sink and a selection of filthy cutlery
- the beds were bodged together with planks of wood which kept falling off
- the matress clearly had not been changed for the past 10 years, it had dirty brown stains all over it !!
- there were rats at the back of the apartments, so if you were lucky enough to be put on the ground floor you would be joined by some unwelcome visitors... thankfully we were on the second floor
- Dennis, the guy who worked at night was pretty funny, however did treat guests like school children, demanding them to bed and not allowing anybody to sit on the sofas. He also got into a fight with one of the male guests staying at the hotel for no reason
- generally just not safe and very dirty, we tried not to stay in the room very much, only getting ready and sleeping there for a few hours. However for the money we paid, it was a complete and utter nightmare. There are many other apartments and hotels in laganas so please avoid this hovel.

Okay before i went here I was slighly worried as it was my first holiday away without parents. When we got off the coach we checked in at reception where one person from each room has to give their passport over a deposit, which then is returned after your stay after they have checked the room for damages. (totally normal).
Our room was right by reception so was sometimes noisy when the guys were playing the playstation or snooker. For all those people who expect high standards .. its not gunna happen. This is a hotel for young people, therefore it will be loud, it may not be squeeky clean and the pool may get crowded at times but what do you expect.
Some people have moaned about the distance to the beach too, okay yeah in the hot weather it maybe a half hour walk .. but slap on the oil and get a tan =]. the main strip is also a good 15/20 min walk but this isnt a problem as there are plenty of bars on the way to start off your night. Besides, the main bit of the strip isnt lively until at least 11/12 and at least by staying at the top of the strip you arnt involved in the nightime noise and chaos from the strip.
Daily routine is usually waking up each day about 11/12.. got some breakfast in the nearby hotels, sunbathed by the pool, went swimming, went to supermarket late afternoon to get drink and snacks for getting ready. Had a nap about 5/6 .. got ready at 8/9 ish (including drinking) .. had dinner about 10 ish and then went down the strip until 5/6 ish =].
After i had booked to stay here i was reallyyy worried after reading the reviews but honestly .. its like a 3 star hotel so dont expect anything more for youre money and you will be fine. Make sure you put all valuables in the safe as the maids like to take any loose change left around (but this maybe because small change is left for maids is knowsn as a tip). Let your hair down, have fun and make friends with all the other crazy people in the hotel and you will have the best holiday ever! Have your wits about you and if youre a girl dont go alone on the strip! A cab is 6 euros anywhere on the strip and are a safer option if you find yourself alone! x

This is the worst room on a holiday,I have ever seen.The door wouldn't even lock from the inside,so we ended up with a stool proped against it,as a homemade burglar alarm.A giant hole in the bathroom door was there,the same sheets and towels all week were unchanged and watch out for the rat infested fields at the back of the apartments,where yobos chuck old food and drink over the balcony.We also saw rats along the main street and friends we met out there had dead mice and giant slugs and centipedes in their room,although not at Dimis.No kettle,pictures,tv in the room and the shower leaked.Watch out for the reception staff taking your passport and then demanding 20 euros for a ripped towel.Pay up or no passport back.The balconies adjorn also,so lock your door,as people climb from one to the other.Very lively nightlife,25 minute walk away which adjoins the beach.Don't go if you are over 25 though,as it is full of chavs.The Dimis bar charge 1 euro for a small water and 5 euros 50 for a bottle of cider!!

i arrived at dimis hotel on the 7th august with 3 girl friends. when we got to the reception my friends passport was taken as a deposit, inacse any damage was done to the room and she got it bak the day we left. we had to carry our very heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs to our room as there waas no lift and no staff offered to help. the rooom whic was self caterd for four people was very basic. there was one room which consisted of four beds, one wardrobe and a poor excuse for a kitchen (small firdge/freezer, two hobs) there was no kettle or microwave so we never ate in, and had all of our meals out. the bathroom was also very basic and the toilet was rusty! one night, all of the water in the hotel was turned off for some reason, and we didnt get it back until 10am the following morning. the bed sheets and towels were not changed once during our 7 night stay. the maids did go into the room but didnt do anythin, they didnt give us any toilet paper when we ran out and did not empty the bin even tho it was over flowing. we had to go to the reception and ask for toilet paper, and we emptied the bin ourself and left it outside our room. i think the maids then got the hint and the next day the bin was emptied. the pool bar was handy for food and drinks during the day although it was very expensive, a 330ml caprisun drink costing 2euros!! a plate of chips 2.50 euros, and a jaket potato with cheese and beans 5euros! there were alot of sunbeds, however a lot of them were broken, but the ppol wasnt usually that busy so it wasnt too hard to find a working one. music was played all day by the pool throught to the night, which was quite enjoyable, but not reccommended for the older generation!! the pools were usualy cleaned at night and were generally clean, bar a few dead wasps!
the hotel was about a 25 minute walk to the main strip, so it is worth getting a taxi home at night which will usually cost 6euros. the night life was amazing and i would recommend goin to cherry bay at aorund 3am, which closes at 5am like most other clubs. i would strongly reccommend the white party at cameo island on every other sunday night. tikets are 25euros and it is really worth it, get drunk before u go tho as drinks cost 5euros each there.
overall the holiday was really fun, definatley a very loud, lively resort, for the young and young at heart. dimis hotel certainly isnt luxurious but will do if you are just looking for a place to crash at night!! x

The hotel was sick.. the cleaners don't clean when they eventually change your sheets once a week they stand and stare at you until you get out of bed.. we had to stand on the balcony in our jamas at 2 in the day and the pool was packed fun times! And in the room between 3 people we had 4 beds with 2 pillows. I had to use a towel for a couple of days which was funny then we made friends and robbed theres then we got one and she robbed it back! The night mans a legend be careful of the stick! Just give him a twix and he'll be your best friend for rest of the holiday! In the room which is "self catering" are only 2 hobs which take forever to cook.. so don't expect to really cook in your room! The pool is not cleaned at all so your bikinis turn yellow.. but there fun pools especially for ball games! But the bar staff are great Pepe and Mike and the greek chef are great.. but the bar is proper expensive.. you have to pay 50c for Mayonaise haha. On our second to last night we got locked out of our room because the door broke.. so we had to jump our balcony which somehow the nightman got open for us, the next day the receptionist came in and kicked the door open! Then when we went to get in our taxi the receptionist stopped us and demanded that we paid for breaking the shower, white plastic chairs and door even though none was our fault! He then threatned to stop our taxi until we paid up.. he got a tenner and a massive argument with my friend haha But the holiday is amazing i'd definetly go back the strip is really good, but the hotel is so long away compared to others we walked it everyday there and back after cherry bay which is on the beach it took over half an hour to walk back maybe more sometimes especially after a few drinks.. but these were the funniest times! If i went back i'd stay at a different hotel! Go to the white party on the sunday night really good.. get drunk before you go so expensive and dont wear nice shoes you have to walk through the sea to get to it!!

this hotel was good in the day and very lively for young adults the pool is full of dead wasps and horrable insects,the beds wernt changed once all week neiter was the room!!
after goin down to the strip in the night wen you get in the hotel the security man is a wierdo and if any 1 is noisey or does anything he doesnt like he chases u with a metal bar. also on the last day wen we was leaving the maids aventualy cleaned r rooms n said there was a problem n we owed him a 1000euro for 4 dirty towels:S and as we wernt goin to giv him it he grabbed 1 of my mates bags n said u betta pay or u not geting the bag bak so we ended p giving him 80euro as that was all we had n he chased us out the hotel with his metal bar a defonate never ever go here!!!!!!
its also about a 25 min walk to the beach and 20 mins to the main strip which is a bit of a joke seen as it says 800 meters !!

I have just got back from 2 weeks in Zante & it was amazing! Like many others I read the awful reviews on sites like this before I came. I was mortified & extremely terrified. I was expecting the biggest [--] & that me & my friends were going 2 get beaten up & robbed. The complete opposite was true. When we got there early morning we were given a lovely welcome by the man at reception who even walked us to our room. The room was much better than I expected based on the reviews that I had read. I mean it wasnt like a 5 star luxury apartment but it was good enough. The only thing is that the maids dont give clean towels & sheets every day. A week into holiday this did become a bit of a pisstake but we just pinched a bundle every now & again. But 4 a hotel in Zante on the main stripu pay 4 what u get. Pepe`s bar is amazing & hes such a legend!! Mike & Harry the bar staff are such a laugh 2! They really made the holiday & make u feel so welcome. Anything that we needed help with they sorted. In my opinion the hotel is the perfect distance away as its a bit of a walk away from the strip so u cant hear all the noise but its not 2 far. However when ur legless a taxi does seem more appealing.
Zante is amazing & I would definatly go again. As 4 the hotel it was fine...as a group of 18 year olds it was fine people need 2 stop whingin & just enjoy themselves. :)

we were forced into this hotel as a last resort, the moment we got there we were not impressed and could tell it was going to be a terrible hotel. When we got to our room we couldnt believe how bad the state of the room was. the sheets were dirty with stains on that you wouldnt even want to imagine, all the plates etc were dirty, we had to wash everything up ourseleves. In the whole week that we were there the maid came once and that was on our last day. The location was shocking! with a good half an hour walk to the beach and 20 minutes to the restraunts! they never supplied us in the whole holiday with fresh towels. this hotel ruined what could of been a good holiday! DO NOT GO THERE IT IS JUST AWFUL!!!

It was so far away from the beach!! and a defo taxi ride back after a night on the strip!!
so dirty and the cleaners do not clean, they are the women smoking sat in reception and glaring you! we had to nab sheets and towels from their dirty little storage cupboard!! you will not get any otherwise! &u have 2 buy toilet roll! and so funny-they nicked our clothes and hated us-storming in our rooms at early hours to open the curtains and swear at us in greek-definately no intention of cleaning!
self catering-haaaaa! what a joke. You couldn't cater a sandwich with the facilities in our 'studio'. One spoon, a fork and a portable hob thing which made a little bubble in water after being on the hob for an HOUR! so you will be eating out the whole the whole time!
so glad we did not catch any diseases staying in that hole!!
ZANTE is ace though! Just stay somewhere more central and CLEAN!! and if you do stay here stay out till like 5/6am cuz you will be awake till then anyway with gobblers trying to kick your door down or people knocking!

so cute he said his girlfriend would complain... im sure she would! not just about the state of the hotel but the fact he slept with about 3 of my friends! (maybe that is why he rated the Dimis 10/10) haha
