We have stayed at the Top Set hotel twice now! Our first time was last year in Aug 07 when we got engaged, and then again in May this year (08) when we married in the hotel itself. The Hotel arranged all the necessary detail from Cyprus, keeping in constant contact via email the whole time. All we had to do was the legal document here in england and send it out to the manager who did the rest. It is a family run hotel of a reasonable size, and they arrange a party booking for all the friends and family that came out to share our special day (24 in all).......And what a special day....... Even at the end of May the weather is very hot and so we had the ceromony at 5pm....enough light and sun still for photo's and then party time. We were so relaxed as they took care of everything. Food entertainment, decorations, even the wedding cake! We sat by the pool until 3pm, it was great. The staff and the owner and his daughters just can't do enough for you.

I remember the first time we went there, we read reviews, and one I remember very well it said " as we drove up I remeber thinking, this looks like down town beirut" but I asure you the hotel is like a little oasis, the owner takes such care over the gardens and little details making it quaint and homely. I think thats what we love about it, it's not 5 star luxury, but a clean, cosy & homely family run hotel. Its close to supermakets, you can walk up to the main road and catch a bus at any time, (they run every 10-15 mins) there are lots of historic sights to see, and there are some fantastic places to eat within walking and short driving distance ( although they have a very good restaurant in the hotel if you don't feel like going out). In all we have had two fantastic holidays at the top set hotel and would recommend it to anyone, and if you fancy getting married over there do it, it was a fairytale wedding in a beautiful setting, we can't thank them enough for all their hard work.

my husband and I have just returned from our 4th visit to Northern Cyprus and the Topset Hotel and as always had a warm and welcoming holiday - warm in temperature and hospitality. the hotel is family run and the owner Hassan and his family are very proud of their establishment, and you can always be sure of a warm welcome. The rooms are comfortable and clean with towels changed every day if you wish. The pool area is very relaxing and set in very pretty gardens, which then lead off onto the outside restaurant and bar area which are set right by the sea and the small man made beach with steps leading into the sea. We stayed on bed & breakfast basis, which is the usual continental type, sometimes we had evening meals at the hotel, which although there is no choice the food is good and plentiful. Topset is also situated ideally for exploring this area of Cyprus, being only a few minutes drive from Girne (Kyrenia) and about 1 hr from Famagusta, with lots of places of interest between, and a large number of very good restaurants within walking distance. Overall this is the area and hotel to visit if you want to rediscover the med as it used to be, if you just want to relax and unwind or if you are more adventurous and want to explore

We came to stay at Topset with a first walking child in tow, so we were slightly worried before our arrival that the grounds were going to be clean, safe and generally toddler friendly. We need not of worried as it was a perfect place to take young children. The gardens were beautiful with lots of liitle secret pathways to explore, the pool was kept very clean as were the bathing areas surrounding. The staff were helpful and made us feel very welcome. Topset has a quiet setting and is perfect for a relaxing, chilled out holiday.

We found the surroundings to the hotel rather scruffy, but once in the hotel it was very pleasant. The hotel was clean and towels were changed whenever you wanted and the sheets three times in two weeks.

The bar and restaurant staff were brilliant, all Turkish and very happy people, they really made the holiday. Alli on the reception desk was very helpful and spoke very good English. The breakfasts were as we expected abroad, we were glad we were not half-board as there was no choice for evening meal. We ate at the hotel a few times and ate a-la-carte and were satisfied with the food served to us.

The man-made beach wasn't very big and there was a lot of rubbish left on the beach area. We felt as if we were in Turkey - everyone is so laid back, we will definitely visit the area again but not Top Set.

Emir Top Set

Party consisted of 2 x adults 2 x OAP plus 1 x child

A small family run hotel which is kept very clean with beautiful gardens. All the staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you.

A beautiful sea-front location, our room was literally 25 steps to the pool and 30 steps to the beach! Family Rooms are set on three levels with and entrance hall and bathroom leading to steps down to sitting area and twin bedroom and also steps up to a mezzanine leading to a further twin room.

The hotel has its own little beach with good access to the sea, although the beach is quite unclean. The pool area is well kept and there never seemed to be any rush to reserve a sun lounger.

Breakfasts were ok, usual continental style with toast, yoghurt and cereal. Decor was a little dated, but in the traditional Cypriot style. Hotel has a lot of steps and I wouldn’t recommend for anybody with mobility issues.

Surrounding village area was scruffy and looked a little off-putting at first, but on the whole I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing base.

On the whole I do think Northern Cyprus is mis-sold as it is very busy in and around Kyrenia and there is building work everywhere. Also there is a lot of litter.

We booked this as a change from our usual Greek island holiday, it was Olympic year and the Greeks seemed to have got a little, well greedy. Also a change was being in a hotel, usually we would book an Easyjet flight to Athens, a villa and a hire car and sort ourselves out.

First shock was Onur air flight to North Cyprus, the only time in my life I have experienced a pilot turning off the runway still slowing hard under reverse thrust! This was during the obligatory stopover in Istanbul. Onur air were really the only bad part of the package.

Cyprus paradise were the most helpful holiday company right through the booking process until we landed back home. The hotel was small, friendly, family run and had beautiful views. Northern Cyprus will for the next few years stay a paradise, giving a feel of the med from the sixties, unspoilt, friendly and HOT.

Go and see it now before a million villas are built over it all.
