Libertel de Suede Hotel

This is by far the WORST HOTEL we have ever stayed in. We were only looking for a place to shower and sleep as we arrived late in the evening and were departing in the early morning. First, the desk could not provide us change to use the vending machine and suggested we go around the corner to a snack shop - this snack shop didn't exist and we walked several blocks to end up at a cafe. Convenient and clean,sorted out the problem with the shower head this is a hard water area so scraped off the scale and it works fine.Have stayed in several hotels in this area at these sort of prices,it had the smallest room ever but a fridge in the wardrobe.If you want to sit in your room all day or chill by the pool this is not for you,but if you want to explore Paris it is just a 2 minute walk from Gard De Nord and all the transport links.For tourists on a budget there are two supermarkets in the area and quite a few small cafes,Subway... more

The Libertel Suede Hotel is perfectly situated as it is not a long walk from the Gare du Nord, the main train station in Paris, on arrival there had been a slight mix up with our bookings but the staff were polite and friendly and sorted us out two new rooms. The breakfast was lovely and the rooms were just what we needed as we did not want to be in them a great deal as we wanted to be out seeing the sights, the bathrooms were clean and adequately sized and there were no problems with hot water or clean towels.

The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful, but the old woman who is in charge of breakfast was a witch! She watched every cup of coffee you had and every croissant that was eaten. They say 'breakfast buffet' but I think this old woman felt there wouldn't be anything left for her to take home! The rooms were tiny, clean but very HOT. Summer is not a good time to visit. The reception area was quite nice, the staff were friendly, and the place was generally very clean. However, our bathroom was in a terrible state with discoloured peeling paint, no hooks to hang anything, the cold bath tap handle kept falling off, and the shower head was so damaged and blocked up that when you tried to use it, it flooded the entire bathroom no matter what you did, stopping us from having a proper shower (luckily we were only there for one nite). This hotel is ideally located as a base to explore Paris, it is less than 2 minutes from the eurostar terminal/Gare du Nord so within minutes of arriving we were unloading our bags. We got this place for a great price, so any comments are taking this into consideration. This hotel is BASIC, our room had a slight smell to it, though this went after opening the windows for a while. The bedspread (the top sheet) was not clean, though the main sheets on the bed were. This hotel is ideal for exploring the city from. With Gare Du Nord a 2 minute walk away (which is not a disturbance) it is easy to catch the metro and RER around the city, the best way to travel and good value for money with a day pass in Paris for around 5 euros for the day. Disneyland is approx 45 mins away and will cost around 12 euros return including city zones too. To see the most of Disneyland, 2 days is recommended as a minimum. When we arrived at the hotel, there wasn't a room for 2 persons, but were made a reservation (3 months prior) on the internet. We got a small room with a kingsizebed (between 1 person and 2 persons). The bed was not clean. There were blood and spermmarks and there was a terrible noise from the ellavator. Afther complains were got a other room the next day... the first 2 days in Paris were gone!!!

WE have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Libertel Suede. It is just 3 minutes walk from the Gard du Nord, very well situated for Eurostar travellers. 15 minutes walk from both Montmartre and Boulevard Haussmann. The room was a reasonable size, very clean and well maintained, the breakfast buffet was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a comfortable lounge with a small bar. Excellent value for a modest budget

Near to the gard du nord so not the best area! Basic but clean and bed comfy. Breakfast ok Staff friendly and helpful. Makes a cheap base from which to travel as good access to Metro etc. Had a room on the front of the hotel and was very noisy from the street, typical city, never sleeps. You do get what you pay for, though I am sure there are cheaper better hotels.
