Apartment is huge, very clean and with all utilities that are needed. Bath robes supplied. No lift - but top floor is only a few floors.
Daily maid service with clean towels daily. Breakfast in their hotel next door was very good.
Views from the apartment fantastic - looking over the Forth. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Within very easy distance from Princess St, Castle, many shops and restuarants as well as only 10 minute walk to Royal Mile, etc. There is a shopping complex just down the road from the hotel which has many named shops and open til late most nights and open on sundays til 6.
There is parking at the rear of the hotel, only disadvantage was the noise from the road as it is on a main road, but we managed to get alot of sleep - just getting woken up early in the morning - but at least that made us get up for breakfast and start the day early. There is a casino accross the road as well.
Would recommend and stay again.

The perfect location for a short break at anytime of the year. We stayed here just before Christmas and it was a wonderful three days in Edinburgh.
The hotel is a stone’s throw from Princes Street and has a wide selection of restaurants and pubs on the doorstep.
The room we stayed in was en-suite with a four-poster bed, flat screen TV, with small seating area and tea and coffee facilities.
The breakfast was continental with cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cakes, and toast. Tea, coffee, and juice was available too. The staff were pleasant at all times of day and night.
The hotel also has its own car park which is a bonus.
Whilst staying at the hotel we dined at the Smoke Stack which is highly recommended, and drank at the Conan Doyle (very near to the hotel) where they do a great selection of ales and winter hot wines.

Edinburgh is a wonderful city especially pre-Christmas. The mild December weather this year was an unexpected treat which did not detract from the atmoshpere on Princes street and in the German Market as everyone went searching for last minute presents.
We stayed in a splendid Georgian suite at the Ballantrae Hotel. The period rooms were tastefully decorated and furnished and also included a fully equipped, very spacious kitchen. The 8ft tree was an unexpected feature.
We chose to eat out Italian and dine in with a Chinese banquet before joining a great pub quiz in the Stockbridge district. It was city shopping with a touch of luxury.
