Aparthotel Las Aguilas

Arrived in the dark and hotel was a little hard to find, in daylight it can`t be missed. Staff were all superb, rooms excellent barring no coffee/ tea facilities which I would expect in a Four star hotel. The grounds and swimming areas were all beautifully maintained apart from the water was so cold hardly anyone went in !. An excellent hotel - superb grounds with 2 excellent pools with waterfalls. The gardens were beautiful and had breathtaking views as did the rooms on the coastal side. We stayed in a family suite with 2 bedrooms having read the tripadvisor review. It was excellent with loads of space every where and 2 marble en suite bathrooms and a very spacious balcony. I went to Las Aguillas last year with my boyfriend and I enjoyed it very much actually. I suppose APRIL is a bit quiet time to spend holidays in Tenerife, but if you are looking for a getaway place to rest and forget city problems, this hotel is perfect for you. The Hotel Las Aguilas is situated on a hill with fabulous views. We drove up from Teneriffe South airport and when we arrived in Puerto de la Cruz you couldn't miss the hotel - it looked very impressive high up on a hill. When we arrived in our suite we were also very impressed. There was only me, my husband and our 7 year old daughter but we had a suite with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms - it was fantastic. This was a fantastic place to stay - it was quiet when we were there and had the pool to ourselves - think the hotel is will be advertising more widely - i cant wait to go back to this hotel and hope that it keeps up the fantastic work staff were fantastic and location was out of this world if you are in any doubt - dont be this is a lovely place to stay and great for kids the hotel bus is so regular and takes you down town where you can explore more of this lovely island

We too cannot understand why this hotel was so quiet as we too ended up having the whole pool to ourselves some days! Not that we went in the pools because they were too cold but they did look very nice. We stayed at the Las Aguilas in November last year. You can spot the impressive hotel from the motorway as it sits upon it's own perch above the bay. Check in was no problem, we found the reception staff to be exceptional thoughout our stay. They answered any questions we had and nothing seemed to be too much of a task for them. Stayed in February 2008 found the hotel excellent. There are fantastic views from all sides of the hotel Mount Teide to the South and equally stunning views down to Puerto de la Cruz to the North. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus on the hour to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz this only takes about 10 minutes but forget about walking it is too far. Myself and my boyfriend went here for a relaxed week!! Relaxed wasn't the word for it. There is nothing at all to do in the hotel. There is one bar which didnt open until 4pm!! We were the only english couple (all german, spanish and french) and the staff had difficulty understanding us! Even asking for a drink in the restuarant was such hard work, most nights i settled for a coke. The hotel has nothing within walking distance, but they provide a bus service. Overall we had a wonderful stay in this hotel, the views are incredible. However it is not a five minute walk from the beach as the travel agent told me, it is a ten minute drive. But the view makes up for it. The apartment was so spacious and ideal for our family. The food was really nice, esp the pancakes at breakfast, although the evening buffet tended to be a bit repetitive, but was nice all the same.
