We booked very late with First Choice to go skiing at Easter 2005 as Neilson had cancelled our holiday 4 days prior to departure. We were unsure what to expect and arrived in resort to a beautiful little chalet right next to the piste. Our minibus driver was very helpful taking us to and from the ski hire shop to collect our skis. Our rooms were cosy and warm and there was a sizeable communal area for the four of us and the four others who were staying in the chalet.
The first nights meal was excellent and we all overindulged on the free flowing wine on offer. Meals throughout the rest of our stay were also outstanding as was the home made cake and tea provided on our return from the slopes. Our chalet host Anita was first class and even skied with us on one of the days. The resort itself could be expensive if you went to the wrong bars (up to 70 Euros for a vodka), but on the whole, prices could be found that were no more than the rest of the French Alps. Skiing was excellent all week and made that much better by a couple of days of fresh snow!
Our only gripe was the attitude and organisation of the Swiss at Geneva airport. The charter terminal is not big enough to cope with the influx of skiers at peak times at is an absolute nightmare. Why do tour operators insist on using this god forsaken hole of an airport when Lyon is much better, well organised and with more helpful staff. Price I suppose!
Any way on the whole it was an excellent holiday, much better than the one we had booked with Neilson originally and for less money.
