I had read many reviews and was abit worried that the hotel was going to be of not a good standard. When we arrived at the Emira we had a very warm greeting from the staff and they provided us with a much need drink of juice. The porter carried all our luggage up to the... more

We went for two weeks at Hotel Emira. The hotel was one of the cheaper on offer but we found the hotel to be clean and friendly with a good pool. We were all inclusive and most of the time the food was above average but always a good selection of salads available. When... more

Basic hotel, a little dated. Breakfast is by buffet but is also limited choice. Dinner is a set menu - no choice- consists of soup, salad, main meal and sweet. The main meal was always turkey or goat with chips and the sweet was melon every day I was there (9 nights). Hotel... more

First and last time in Tunisia. The Hotel is now run down and dated, in serious need of some TLC. This Hotel is a 2* not 3* as advertised. We made the mistake for going during Ramadan and nearly everyone we met were obviously in a fowl mood serving and watching us eat,... more

We booked this hotel as it was away from the beach and night life, we wanted a quiet relaxing week, reading books and chilling out. The first few days were fine, but we were then blasted with terrible pop music by the pool from 8am until 6pm, so loud that we had to shout at... more

Great place to go! Offers everything form the beach to smart restaurants to day trips into the Sahara. A good mix of chilling out and being adventurous... Going to the medina for some bartering is great fun - just get stuck and don't be afraid! We avoided then hotel food as... more

Give this hotel a miss!
Hotel Emira Tunisia. Date:8th - 15th August 2007 After arriving at the "Hotel Emira" after a long and trying transfer from Monastir airport, we(my husband, teenage son and myself) were informed by the hotel manager that we were to stay at another hotel that night as they had overbooked- we objected but with nowhere to sleep we had very little choice but to go! We were packed off to what I can only describe as a hostel-it was awful.A view of an ugly brick wall and no pool! The following day we were returned to the "Hotel... more
Absolutely HATED it...
After booking 3 months in advance, the Emira transfered us and lots of other people to another hotel for 2 nights. When we got to stay at the Emira, the air con was broken, the phone was disconnected so that we couldn't use it, the window lock was broken, and there was an exposed fuse box about 1 foot from the floor. Not good if you have young children especially. The food - was terrible, kids portions! And the waiters took at least 20 mins from sit-down to serving you. You have to pay for water even if you have your meals included.<br... more

We booked this holiday last minute and found as soon as we got there, there was going to be problems. The first 2 nights our room had no air conditioning and we had to wait 3 days practically to be moved to a room with air conditioning that was like a wasp could blow harder .EVERY night there was music playing hardcore till 12 midnight .Most disappointing thing about our holiday was the food it was utter dreadful we spent most of our spending money on eating out. You might think I’m going on a bit there were some good points the hotel... more
Fantastic little hotel
Me and my partner stayed there last week, and we thought it was a fab little hotel. We were expecting the pits for a 2 star, but it was so much better than we expected. The staff were really lovely and friendly, the rooms were basic but exceptionally clean with fresh sheets and towels daily and fresh flowers from the grounds. We only stayed B&B as we like to check out other places to eat. The breakfasts were fine, continental (croissants, jam, meats, cheese etc and cereal) I would definetly recommend the Emira for a cheap and... more
Underated Hotel !
Having read some of the other reviews on this site, I felt I would have to write and tell you about our experience. We booked a last minute deal, cheaply, and knew from previous expreiences doing the same we might in in for a rough ride. I won't lie, the Emira is basic, but it has all the amenities you would expect, but it's appeal lies in it';s location. The Emira isn't in the main tourist hotspot, if you walk out of the entrance you actually get to see what life in Hammermet is like... the locals going about their daily business etc.... more
traumertized
my husband and i stayed for 2 wks, we are just recovering from the shock.sept. 06 when we arrived.was there 1 night and asked to move room,as ours was filthy, woke up to a breakfast off green eggs, onions, spam, soggy tomatoes, and stail bread. the staff were very ignorent and always shouting at each other, unless you tip them every day they dont want to know you. The entertainment was for the staff only,3 young lads playing loud music, and bingo every night, 1 small alcohol free drink as the prize.Nothing at all for the children.<br... more
A much under-rated Hotel
Before my girlfriend and I visited this hotel we read many of the reviews posted on this website and found some of them very useful others not so useful On arrival I was pleasantly surprised, this hotel is a lovely Hotel, which although does have a few omissions that even I did crave is one on the most pleasant I have ever stayed at. It is not a 5 star residence so I did not expect 5 star opulence, I was happy with what I got. Which is a clean and friendly small hotel in a part of hammemet well away from the bigger more... more

My boyfriend and me stayed at hotel Emira and had a wonderful weeks holiday. The hotel was not very busy full of wonderful people and their staff where very friendly, We had B&B, breakfast was very different, not quite what you would expect but very nice once you get use to it and try everything. The hotel bar had very good entertainment, one night there was a snake charmer, very good. Bingo every night not the highlight but depends what you like. Not may clubs walking distance away defiantly not a clubbing holiday but lots of... more
Bad
I never expierienced anything worse. Room dirty. Food should be not be called food Loud music all the night. Only beer was cold as a positive comment
Music blaring until midnight: a disappointing stay
The very loud music (launched each night by the same tape comprising 'Agadoo', 'The Okey Cokey', etc.) is played every night until 12 midnight. It was so loud that our children (10 and 12) could not sleep. Neither could we. Because the music is played in the central courtyard area of the hotel there is no escape from it. When we (very politely) complained we were told that most people liked the music and therefore our complaint was undemocratic (!). We were told this on two separate occasions. The attitude of reception and management... more
