Two Brothers Studios

Went to Kalamaki, Zante in Sept 2006 for 2 weeks.. Had the best holiday ever and the weather was great.
Accomodation was very small & basic but everything was perfect during the 2 week stay apart from when we had to go home. Our tour operator was Olymic holidays, they are absolutely useless and I would NOT recommend anyone travel with them. Our return flight originally had a 3 hour delay, got to the airport at around lunch time and was still at the airport at 10pm that night. Had to stay another night in a different hotel in Agassi, then were told we would be picked up and taken to the airport at 8am. Got to the airport, had to check in again & the flight didnt take off until gone 12.30.
The staff at Olympic are rude, unhelpful and have no customer service skills...
If you decide to go to Zante make sure you dont travel with Olympic.
Im going back to Zante in Sept this year with my sister for a week. Staying in Laganas and we are making our own way there not going with any tour operators.

Two Brothers is a very pleasant well kept establishment. The pool area is relatively small and the menu is somewhat basic.
The studios are however small and one cannot really self cater. Our kitchen was about 1 metre x 1.5 metres and comprised a sink, fridge, kettle and single burner hotplate so toast, for example, was out of the question. There was basic crockery and cutlery but no tea towels. The kitchen sink had only cold water piped in.
The hot water in the bathroom was reliable and towels were changed twice a week. Bath towels only, no hand towels.
We very rarely used the bar as it semed to be occupied by regulars watching 'soaps' on the TV. Lacking in ambience to say the least.
Would however not hesitate to recommend for low cost no frills holiday accomodation.

The Two Brothers is very well situated in the centre of Kalamaki and has a laid back atmosphere. The room unfortunately wasn't the best, very small and compact offering limited space, that caused problems. Anyone wanting to cook would find it extremely difficult. The shower room always provided hot water but was a bit of a joke. However the maids attended daily and kept the apartment clean and tidy. The small complex and pool are maintained to a good standard. As for the brothers they are always polite and helpful if you make the effort to talk to them. Kalamaki is a nice place, the best on Zante.

Stayed at these apartments first two weeks in October and they do leave a lot to be desired.
Rather shabby, could do with a bit of an update. Very small in fact the smallest and maybe the shabbiest we have stayed in in Greece over the years we have been going. Must admit though we got what we paid for, they were very cheap.
The beds were very, very uncomfortable. The bar and pool area are very nice but the people who run it make no effort with guests. The pool and surrounding area wasn't cleaned until our second week when one of the guests complained very loudly before she returned home. We noticed the next day it was a lot cleaner.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Kalamaki despite the apartment. People were very friendly. Had Excellent meals would recommend Olive Tree, Heavens Kitchen.
Weather was really hot first week, had couple days of rain second week so hired a car and went sightseeing round the island. Rest of week spent mainly on beach. We did hire a quad bike some of the time. It was good fun went all over the place on it.
Must mention the lovely people in Venue music bar. Excellent!
This was third time in Kalamaki in last six years but would definitely go again.

An attractive place to stay and friendly people. Beware of the freezing cold pool at the apartment which we could not use all week as was freezing!
Showers very powerful but mainly cold, luke warm around evening time. Rooms were not cleaned, just had bins emptied every other day. Bedding was changed regular.
Very quiet location, has bar but no entertainment as was end of season. Very close to shops and restaurants. (Select and Mermaids excellent food).
Beware of flooding apartment if you are on bottom floor in October! Friendly staff and approachable. The rep, Stephanie was great, thanks.

Spent a relaxing week here, the apartment was very basic but comfortable, towels were only changed once a week and the maid didn't clean our room very well. Pool area was nice with plenty of sun beds. We had breakfast there a couple of days and it was very good. We ate out every night and all the restaurants were excellent, there was plenty of choice even for vegetarians. Kalamaki beach was quite a walk away but was worth going to as the sea was so warm and the beach was clean. We would like to visit again next year.

THE WORST ACCOMMODATION I HAVE EVER SEEN!
We arrived at the Two Brothers at around 22.00 to find that there was no room for us, the hotelier spoke to the Olympic rep and she said that it was his problem and to sort it out himself and off she went. Considering we had a 16 month old baby girl with us I thought this was disgusting!
When we got our second floor room half an hour later we opened the door and both our hearts sank, even my little girl seemed to be shocked. The room was very tiny and depressing, painted in a horrible brown. There was no cot for our baby but a horrible camp bed which was stained beyond belief. When we did get a cot the following day it was in even worse condition. The balcony was tiny and unsafe for infants as the gaps between the iron railings were wide enough for our little girl to fall threw. The bedding seemed clean apart from the large spats of blood on two of the pillow cases. The smoke alarm had no battery and still didn't after asking the rep and hotelier 3 times. A grate was missing in the bathroom leaving a 5 inch sharp and rusty hole in the floor. The bathroom itself was tiny, no shower curtain and you had to hold the shower in your hand. The rooms are really run down and have bodge job repairs everywhere.
The pool is of average size but is shared with two other hotels and gets really busy. There is also a fenced off area about 20 metres from the hotel which holds around 15 dogs that barked from around 4 in the morning. We were warned about the Olympic rep by a family who was staying there saying that she was uninterested and aggressive. This was confirmed when we raised our concerns with her. We arranged to meet up with her and she didn't turn up, when asked about this she said she had been on airport duty but when my partner met with her a day later she said she was at the hospital. A blatant lie. The apartments are sold as a 3 star rating but the rep admitted that they are really a 2 to 2 an a half, if we'd known this we would not have even considered booking them.
After a couple of days we found ourselves another 3 star rated hotel as did 2 other couples called the "Cronulla apts" which were lovely and twice the size, this cost us 380 euros which was money very well spent. We were then informed by the rep that because we had moved out of the apartments that we would not get our transfer back to the airport as we had broken our contract. I checked this with the head rep for the island who informed me that this was untrue and that the rep was giving out the wrong information.
I will never ever book with Olympic holidays again and have put in an official complaint about the rep with Olympic head office.

The hotel rooms were the typical Greek self catering standard which was just adequate for a weeks stay, don’t expect to do any more than sleep and get washed in these rooms. The rooms were cleaned on a regular basis but not very well.
The hotel had a small but usable swimming pool which could be a blessing for some people as it is a fair hike down to the beach.
The resort of Kalamaki is nothing to get excited about, it is a one road resort and that road can be busy with cars speeding to and from the resort of Laganas along the coast.
The restaurants and bars in the area are ok but nothing stands out from the usual.
The main part of the resort stands well inland from the beach and so it is a gruelling walk in the hot sun to get there, but when you do you will find it to be sandy and gently sloping into the sea.
A thing to note about the beach is that it is a Turtle nesting area and so is protected by the Greek authorities and so if you happen to sit in the wrong place then the beach patrol will be along to ask you to move.
I usually go to different places on my holidays but I always ask myself ' would I return?’, to Kalamaki the answer is, NO.

Having stayed at this place I can only describe the accommodation as the worst that I have stayed in, and was not fit for human habitation.
As for Kalamaki, what can I say you may as well go to Blackpool it amounts to the same thing I shall never return again to any Greek island.

Two Brothers very nice, clean, great showers, good service!
A bit of a trek to the beach but the apartments do have a small pool area and are quite secluded providing a peaceful holiday.
The town is only a short walk away in the evenings and although a fairly limited nightlife the food was excellent (particularly Michaelos, worth the walk) take the trip to the Cave bar as well nice!
