Great for money!

Why people moan ? no idea its great pool is good size ! maids struggle to speak english so i spoke greek to them by just greeting them with a simple YASOO! And they always smiled at me !. Rooms are basic but they have kitchen fridge hob, kettle, bedrooms have wardrobe cabinates and dressing table. Showers are powerful but great! The owners are friendly again struggle to speak english but it's not an english country! im 17 and me and my boyfriend loved it ! if your stuck up and picky on where you go then dont go there! great for us though!! Also 15 min walk from beach 2 min walk to main strip!! The animals do not bother you , 2 dogs and a farm round the corner. HONESTLY YOU DO NOT TAKE ANY NOTICE! :D will be going back!!!!!

The best thing i can say about this holiday is i'm glad i'm home! Just got back from a week in The two brothers and would definately NOT recommend staying there to anyone. We stayed in room 11 unfortunatley right by the barking dogs so had hardly any sleep all week, what with the cockerel up the road crowing from about 4 in the morning and the church bells constantly ringing all the time fun was certainly not had by all!!
The staff at the apartments were so rude and unhelpful, we ran out of toilet roll on Wednesday (having been there since Sunday) and were told by the guy in the bar to go to the supermarket and buy one!!!! When my husband took one from the toilets by the pool he was sworn at.
The actual apartment was awful, the towel rail in the bathroom was broken so couldn't hang towels on it, the shower was tiny which made it very difficult to actually have a shower, and it couldn't be fixed to the wall as the holder was broken, so you had to hold the shower head over you.
The towels and bedding were only changed once during the week and the rooms were only cleaned a couple of times.
Quite simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

these sites are very important but you should read all the reports and check the date of the report as things change.
When i booked this holiday and read the firat few reports i thought oh no where an i going. so here is an honest report for the value for money you get for the little you pay.
i was at the two brothers in october of this year 2010.
having been to greece for the past twenty years i know what to expect.
Firstly at £103 for a week inc flights it is not rocket sceince thats this place is not going to be the Hilton or 3/4/ 5 star. you get what you pay for and if you think in your head that your getting the hilton for that kind of money then you need a reality check on your self.
on arriving at the hotel , i was shown to my room which overlooked the pool. the room was basic with shower tap half way up the wall, the same as in most basic med hotles. fridge and two hot plates, again no different from any othere self catering ive been to in greece. big french doors that let huge light in when open. yes its dark if you close them and draw the curtains.
i cooked egg and bacon on my hobs, omllets and spag boll etc no problem.
it does have one wardrobe which had about 30 hangers in them, How much does one person want to take??to bed side cabs and dressing table, i never used it all.
the hotel is set in what i would call back streets on the resort but only a few mins from the main street with bars , shops , three cash points and loads of places to eat.the best for me was the Olive tree,
Many people would think it was by homes that were not finished. If you do your home work you will find that in greece they have a roof tax like our council tax, if you dont finish the roof then you dont pay tax,or you pay a lower rate so many houses have steel popped out or unfinished roofs, so would i if it saved paying tax.
in short this place was basic but good value ( where can you stay in the uk with sun , pool for 7 nights for that kind of money ? )
also you do have to put you wc paper in to a waste bin and not down the loo due to the small waiste pipes, again the same all over greece.
we spent hours round the pool when the sun was out, and the drinks in the bar were as cheap as town.
my only complaint was that the bedding and towles were only changed twice a week but i was advised this before i went.
if you want a cheap basic holiday in an ok hotel then this is the palce.
if you want five star waiter service then this is not for you.
and if you want five star for £103 then you should stay at home and just dream infront of the holiday programs
would i go again ? to the hotel yes if i wanted a cheap break , however Kalamki was not realy my cup of tee.
p.s they also do full english breakfast for 3.60 euro

Disappointing Accomodation
3 / 10
Oct 2010, Wobbles

2 readers found this review helpful

On arrival, we were shown to our studio. The accomodation was very basic and not very comfortable. The apartment was clean apart from the bathroom drain. Storage facilities were poor with one wardrobe and only 2 drawers in the room. The kitchen area was miniscule. On the plus side, a kettle, toaster and hob were provided, and everything electrical worked. The shower was also very good. The balcony was in the sun most of the day, so I presume the balconies on the other side of the block were in the shade. The pool was ok, although it was also in the shade for parts of the day. The view from the balcony was over an area of derelict scrubland, and, although it was generally away from the noise of the bars and restaurants, there was a problem with dogs barking and howling on numerous occasions. The location was good for us because we don't mind a brisk walk. 20 minutes to the beach by a variety of routes, 5 minutes to the excellent choice of bars and restaurants.

where do we start, the flight over with Monarch was a drag with totally miserable cabin crew (could get tips from Thompson's cabin crews). once at the Two Brothers which was early doors we were just told to follow a couple in front of us & had to use a lighter to see the door numbers as the lights were cleverly switched off on the hallways even thogh they knew the time that guests were turning up. once in the room we couldn't believe how basic the room was & how bad the beds & pillows were, the floor was dirty so couldn't go around barefoot. the kitchen area was crap & our fridge was so noisy i took the plug out one night & plugged it back in when we woke up which could have been anytime what with the barking, howling dogs next door or the workmen starting work up the road at the crack of sparrows. we were informed of the thieving so had to monitor our valubales in our room safe every day which put us on edge all the time. the shower rooms were crap with our sink ready to drop off the wall & 2 nights out of 7 we had to have cold showers (o what joy), we only had one towel each for 3 days then one for the last 4 days which someone reviewed thats all they were contracted to but what happened to your guests confort? the pool looked ok but never used it but went to the Exotica Hotel down the road on the way to the beach which has a brilliant pool & really polite friendly staff, what a joy to be in nice surroundings.Zakinthos (Zante) is a crackin island which we got see in a hire car & Kalamaki is a nice resort with a number of nice restaurants & bars especially Sofias & The Iguana bar.We would definately go back to Zante but never again to The Two Brothers Studios especially with the miserable attitudes of the brothers grim and the female staff that run our block. want to say a special hello to Janet & Dave of the "middle floor stick it out crew" of our block that we at least could laugh with about the experience. PS we will not fly with Monarch again either.

we stayed at this so called hotel in june, we arrived here to be met by a girlwho told us "upstairs, at the end" after handing us the keys. The room was grubby, the patio doors did not close properly, we ordered a drink at the bar and were served with a different one altogether, perhaps their english isnt too good!!!
I visit this island very regularly,we stayed here for an hour at the most, after checking out we then stayed at the windmill in argassi, which i would recommend, especially over the two brothers, anytime

My friends and I stayed at Two Brothers for two weeks mid August (Rooms 57 &58). I am frankly disgusted at the nasty reviews I have read. The rooms were clean and well catered for and were tidied EVERY DAY!!! The only qualm we had was the shower leaking but this is not unique to these apartments. The Brothers were friendly and always had a smile for us and were great about ordering taxis etc. We paid for a safety deposit box and air conditioning but it's not too expensive(about 5 euros a day). Location wise- couldn't have been better. 5 mins walk to shops and restaurants, 15 mins to beach. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending Two Brothers to anyone, we'll certainly be back!

how is it a 3star

Aug 2010, nikki

supposed to be 3 star,i wouldnt give it a`1 , we been kalamaki 18 times and this is far the worst ever ,beds dirty on arrival camp bed for our daughter all broken, 18 people complained of having money taken out of the safe deposit box ..... wot does that tell u and rep frightened to return because of the amount of complaints . we left and stayed at cronulla by far the best ever and glad we did will go back BUT never to the two brothers.

Management response from Katerina Meintani, Owner 05 Oct 2010

The guests stayed for 14 days, had not complains until the very last days (when they were out of money obviously). They claimed they had lost from 50 to 100 euros from their safe!. Please note that it is me, the owner that takes care of the rooms. They also claimed they had recorder everything on a camera. We called the police as soon this happened but they claimed their camera was out of battery. They said that they will be ok if we return them the charge for the safe for all of them (75 euros). We refunded them the money, but then they started writing reviews like this in various websites.

18 people complained in one week about money being stolen, poor facilities, room, everything.

Management response from Katerina Meintani, owner 05 Oct 2010

Those are the same people that claim they had their money stolen, see niki's comment for our reply and you will understand for what kind of guests we are talking. Note : the only people complaining about money stolen from their safes where those 3 couples and not 18 persons.
