I am surprised at the reviews, when I went there the place had a worn look about, the staff were pretty apathetic. The restaurants on site are poor. La santa is quite isoalated and it is about a mile to the town. There are about 4 taxis & it is basically a shuttle service from la santa to the town. The tennis coach was pretty good, it seems to be run by the danes and they have a very abrupt manner which is not every ones cup of tea. I would sooner go to a Mark Warner, staff are friendly.

If you want a fit and healthy holiday...

If you want a fit and healthy holiday Club La Santa has a lot to offer. Dont be nervous about trying new sports all staff and coaches are friendly and will be glad to help you on your way.
Cost of accomodation is not expensive considering the sports on offer.
Yes as everyone says the cost once you get there is a lot (especially with a poor exchange rate) but a few tips to keep it cheap would be to take a tour to a supermarket outside the complex and stay in and have a pasta meal which is easy to cook with the sc facilities.
We also had a couple of take aways, pizza and burgers all very delicious and this helped us keep the cost down. After all on this holiday we were there for the sports and not the food.
If you love fancy meals take a walk out of the resort and go to a near by restraunt. The staff at the recpetion will even phone and book you a table.
Just book and use as much instruction as possible and get your money worth out of what you pay for you accomodation (roughly £450 for a week 2bed SC all sports included) Look out for deals on the website.
Best thing to do is get a timetable at the start of the week and circle everything you want to try.
Great holiday, good weather in June get up at 8am and use the hours of cloud to get some running and tennis in. :)

Club La Santa has to be one of the...

Club La Santa has to be one of the greatest places to holiday if you love sports. The facilities are the largest in Europe and the range of activities is endless. You can participate in a wide variety of sports at most levels all included in the cost of the holiday.
The location of the complex is not near anything except a couple of small villages and some old volcanoes! Club La Santa does however provide bike hire (free of charge) and also car hire (at a cost). Excursions are also provided which can be booked at the hotel.
The downsides to the holiday are the cost (expensive because all of your sports hire and participation is included). The rooms are basic but you only really use them to sleep and eat! Food preparation is limited in the rooms but I found that on an active holiday I rarely wanted to eat fancy meals and the facilities were more than adequate.
Local villages and supermarkets are approximately a 40min walk away, but on a sports holiday there is no problem popping down to the local shops!
Do not go on this holiday if you want to sit on a beach and do nothing!!
Do go on this holiday if you get bored very easily, love sports, want to try new things or want to have some pre-season training!

We have just returned from one week...

We have just returned from one week at Club La Santa.
First the good news. The Sports facilities are excellent and include 10 tennis courts, 5 squash courts, 6 badminton courts, 2 beach volleyball courts, a swimming pool, a football pitch, a running track, a golf practice area, and a wind surfing ‘lake’. Most of these are bookable one or two days in advance and each week the staff provide a free one-hour lesson in each sport. These group lessons are offered at beginner, intermediate, and advance levels and you can buy additional individual lessons as required (these cost 24 euros per hour). In addition to the lessons, there are also weekly tournaments and these are also at the three different levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). There’s also a gym and a varied programme of other activities (see the Club La Santa website for details).
On the down side is the hotel’s location - in the middle of nowhere so you really need a car to get around the island - and, worst of all, the food. Each apartment includes a small kitchen area where meals can be prepared but ants were a persistent problem in our apartment and did not encourage food preparation.
We had paid a £110 per person supplement for half-board and, as this was about what we’ve paid elsewhere (in Tenerife and Portugal), we were expecting buffet meals to same sort of standard we’ve found elsewhere. However, we were very disappointed. Although the hotel has several restaurants, only the buffet-style ‘Atlantico’ restaurant is available to those on half-board (all the others are ‘a la carte’ and are considerably more expensive). The food in the Atlantico is woeful both in quality and choice. Virtually all the fruit was tinned and main courses had a nasty habit of turning up again the next day in a lasagne. Not surprisingly, the Atlantico is not at all busy but you’re either faced with self-catering and the ants, a very poor Atlantico, or an expensive ‘a la carte’ meal.
Unfortunately, Club La Santa has a monopoly in terms of the variety of sports activities it offers so if you want the sport I’m afraid that there’s no easy solution to the catering problem. And if you’ve ever tried to book during the school holidays you’ll know that it is a very popular hotel.

For active people Club La Santa has...

For active people Club La Santa has the best sports facilities at any resort we have visited. For our 2 teenage boys, there was always an activity of some description to keep them occupied. Tennis, badminton, football, swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, golf - the list is nearly endless!
The rooms are quite basic, but still reasonably comfortable, and kept clean by the efficient maid service. The self catering facilities in the rooms are limited, but it was still possible to cook on those days when we did not feel like eating at one of the resort's 4 restaurants, or at the nearby village.
Recommended for sports minded people of all ages - there is also a good facility for looking after smaller children.
