A lovely hotel. The staff are so helpful and there is a very pleasant, friendly atmosphere. But they do take dogs (very large ones in some cases) and they are allowed round the pool, which is a bit intimidating. It is quite well situated - only a ten minute stroll into... more

What a fantastic friendly modern hotel. Well decorated. Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Nice a quiet, relaxing holiday. Not far from the centre and the lake but not too close to the hustle and bustle on an evening. Only downside was the road to cross outside was often... more

An individual hotel of character
An individual hotel of character. The public rooms are simply beautiful and the bedrooms are brillaint too. The 2 new pools are wonderful and the whirpool area fantastic !!! Although it is best to ask for a superior room or suite . Our room included free water, fridge, a/c, safe and pool towels. HB option is good value at 17e for a buffet starter, a first and second course and a desert. You can book on a BB basis and opt for HB at the above price as long as you take it for 3 consecutive days. Hotel is very well situated, 3 min walk to lake and about 15 min walk along the lake path (well lit) to Bardolino which had plenty of bars, shops etc. Service from the staff is excellent. we found it cheaper to book online and arrange our own flights (from UK) and the hotel will book a taxi from Verona airport. Lots to see and do in the area, including trips to Venice and the opera at Verona. Can't wait to go back. See the hotels web site for more info and very good photos.
If you are going to Lake Garda don’t miss it !!!
We've stayed a few times at the Color Hotel in Bardolino and each time had a very nice room, last time a spacious suite and experience. The location is great and very convenient, charming interiors and unique design. The gardens ,the pools, are very nice and confortable. The staff is very helpful and most of them speaks fluent English. The atmosphere in the evening is wonderful with all the color lights . We can suggest you ………… if your are going to Garda Lake don’t miss it !!!
Wonderful...didn't want to leave!
The color hotel is wonderful... bright, modern, exceptionally clean and the staff are really helpful and friendly. We booked direct with the hotel which was very simple...Originally booked a standard room...but once we arrived (it was our honeymoon) we wanted to upgrade so they showed us every room available. For 9 more euros we got a suite with a jacuzzi, lounge, 7 foot bed and large balcony...def worth the upgrade! The bar, lounges, pool and bedrooms are all fantastic with a really nice atmosphere and food and drink reasonable. 3 minute walk to the centre. We caught a local bus number 115 from verona airport for 3 euros, bus stops 200 meters away!
Color Hotel - A Lesson for all Hoteliers!
We spent 6 nights at The ColorHotel in Bardolino. The initial impact when you arrive and the friendly smiling young ladies on the reception desk instantly convince you that you have made the right choice. It gets better! The Suite we had in the front of the hotel, complete with balcony had a recently refurbished bathroom complete with Jacuzzi and Power Shower with smart marble slab effect ceramic tiling. The bed was a comfortable and monstrous 7' plus, and everything was spotlessly clean. This level of cleanliness is reflected throughout the hotel. A great buffet breakfast is provided, and although we only had Dinner twice in the hotel, both meals were thoroughly enjoyable with good friendly service. We tended to eat out in Bardolino in order to experience the variety of menues and types of cooking available. The hotel has two swimming pools, both well laid out and maintained and with accompanying well equipped individual bars. We would definitely return here if we re-visited Bardolino and would confidently recommend The Color Hotel to anyone.
Great hotel!!
We booked this hotel on the internet through Venere after looking at the hotel's own website. It far exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful hotel. Beautifully decorated. exceptionally clean and bright. The staff were, patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. e.g. I am a wheelchair user and we e-mailed the hotel to ask them to arrange a taxi from the airport, stating we had a wheelchair with us. We didn't ask for a room with disabled access but when we arrived at the hotel they had picked up on the bit about the wheelchair and arranged a room opposite the lift for us. They also took the trouble to ensure that I could get around the hotel easily and showed us a level exit to the gardens and swimming pool. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, preferring to go to the many local restaurants, but the breakfast was superb and very plentiful. Here again, the restaurant staff were first class. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return for a second visit ourselves one day soon.
Just a great time !
We've just spent our first holiday in Bardolino at the Color Hote and can honestly say it surpassed all expectations The hotel is wonderful....the style 'funky' and the use of colour so very imaginative. There wasn't a day went by when we didn't come across something in the hotel we hadn't seen before ! The staff were so very professional and couldn't do enough for us, quickly remembering our names and always making us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was one of a small family-run hotel....you would never guess there were 140 people staying...it felt like 20 ! We stayed in an Aquerello style room which was great and more than adequate for our two weeks. We had a view over the pool which I would recommend. The pool area was exceptionally clean and ideal for those lazy days just chilling out The location of the hotel, just off the main area of Bardolino, was ideal and only a 10 minute stroll into town. It was actually better we felt to be away from the other hotels. Overall a great hotel and one of the best we've stayed in.
A fine Hotel!
I have just returned from an eight night stay at the Color Hotel in September 2005. The hotel has undergone comprehensive and recent refurbishment so that communal areas, lobbies, bars, grounds and swimming pools are extremely well presented and are worthy of more than a three star rating. We booked a more basic room and although it would benefit from updating it was certainly clean, comfortable and of good size with balcony overlooking the pool that we didn't expect. The room also has air-conditioning as standard with no supplement that is needed at the time of year we went. Hotel staff were very obliging and all spoke good English; we booked the room direct with the hotel via e-mail that was quick and convenient with responses being very timely; it also gave us a decent discount compared to brochure prices. We stayed bed and breakfast that I would recommend, as although there is a comprehensive breakfast buffet, evening meal choices are limited. This maybe particularly so in our case as each of us is vegetarian and the hotel does attract a lot of German visitors and accommodates them well with meat dishes. This did not prove a problem as there is a wide selection of good restaurants in the town that is a five minute walk away. Similarly the selection of bar food available at the pool was very limited and a little disappointing given the impressive setting. With the only reservation of limited food choices I would be happy to recommend the Color Hotel.
Amazing holiday
The Color Hotel is second to none. The setting, layout, rooms, food, staff and surroundings are wonderful. We strongly recomment this hotel. There is a brand new lounge and pool layout at the front of the hotel which has been carefully thought out and tastefully designed and compliments the entire beauty and facilities of this hotel. We will be back again for our seventh visit. Well done The Color Hotel.
Family Holiday
We all had a fabulous holiday in the Color Hotel. The accomodation, food and staff were second to none. The wedding reception on Saturday night was just perfect... the music, the beautiful swimming pool with changing colours shining in the night, the lovely people who, though they were strangers, joined in with us and danced the night away, making our small wedding much more of an occasion. It brought the guests together, and bridged language barriers. Thank you Cristina Colour for giving us all such magical memories.
Good hotel ruined by noise
I was prepared to give this hotel a good review, and despite the small rooms, we we're enjoying it until the final night. All hotels have problems from time-to-time but this is when you see what a hotel is really made of. The hotel was hosting a party by the pool at the front of the hotel with a very bad, very noisy band. It was impossible to sleep even with earplugs in and we had an early start in the morning. When I called at 11pm to see if they could at least turn the music down at bit I was met with rude indifference (it was so loud I'm certain the 20 or so people at the party would have been grateful!). Needless to say, this continued for some time. The next morning was even worse - the desk clerk actually berated me for phoning the desk the night before - saying that no-one else in the hotel had complained! (I actually overheard other guests complaining about the noise at breakfast.) Again, I understand that hotels have parties, noise, etc... but they need to balance the needs of all of their guests. In the end, the staff went out of their way to try and make me feel like I wasn't justified in wanting to sleep (despite paying for a suite at over 200EUR a night!), and offered no apology. There is no excuse for this kind of "service".
Management response from A TripAdvisor Member 19 Sep 2005

In response to "good hotel ruined by noise"...... We are very sorry that the hotel was not given a good review. We apoligize for not making this guest feel understanded by the Color staff but we could not interrupt the scottisch wedding party at 22.30 hours (as requested) that was taking place at the blue bar. The wedding had been specially organized (usually we do not have weddings in our hotel) on request of our guests that travelled to Bardolino from Great Britain with 20 people only to celebrate this occasion. The music (1 man band) started at 21.00 hours and was due to end by 24.00 hours.....and it did. In a turistic area it is normal to have music in the evening. We could not immagine it could be such a problem to have some live music until midnight...... In the morning many guests have thanked us and the married couple for the wonderful evening!!
