Novotel Paris La Defense Hotel

Led a group to Paris to watch the Rugby World Cup. Hotel accomodation was expensive and scarce and we had to settle for this Novotel despite the far from ideal location. Situated in the business area of Paris alongside the Seine, the hotel is a little way out from the major tourist areas but does have great views from rooms above say the 3rd floor. Stayed at this property for 3 nights. The biggest selling point when booking was the fact that it was possible to reserve a room with a queen bed and 2 singles (both pulled out in a unique fashion from the sofa) perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. As expected, the room was on the small side. Had to constantly request additional towels and amenities, as room was provisioned for only 2 guests even though it was a quad. Air conditioning (?) was abysmal. Even on highest setting there was inadequate air flow, room was very stuffy and hot.... more

I stayed for 3 nights in the Novotel in La Defense and thought it was excellent. The rooms are large, the beds massive and the bathroom was light, clean and also a good size. The power shower is something to note too - after walking around Paris all day, its perfect! The staff were friendly and helpful, the decor in the hotel is a high standard and the hotel bar was comfortable enough to have a few glasses of wine at the end of the day. We loved everything about this hotel. We were in the business section of Paris and had a wonderful view of Champs Elysses and the Arch. It was located on the last stop of the Metro line, so was very easy to find. The staff was great and the bar and restaurant downstairs were excellent!!

The hotel is close to the metro La defence and you can go anywere you like Also typical Taxi fair to the Eiffel tower is about 9 euros.Avoid smoking rooms they smell bad and the absence of Windows that open is not pleasant.Restaurant is typical for novotels and is good for the desperate traveler.The area near the hotel has nothing to offer, full of bussines buldlings get less populated during the afternoon and scary after 22.00.The parking is hard to find and calculate about 24 euros for one day.Will recoment for Bussiness people stay there... more

Hotel is close to Metro/subway station and one can do without a car. Buy a 3-day metro pass, which is very economical. While booking hotels in Europe, expedia/orbitz/../everyone mention about charging additional for 3rd adult in the room. What I found is, if you pre-book, the hotel honors the price, they do not ask any additional. Novotel is also close to a very large mall at Pompedu center. My stay last week at the Novotel La Defense ended with my suitcase being light by US$ 300. Sometime during my 3 night stay someone went through my suitcase and stole $300. Of course hotel doesnt recognize it but I would strongly suggest using the safe or staying elsewhere. Otherwise, hotel is fairly clean and location is near the metro so is very convenient.

Decent hotel however they only had dial up connection in the bedrooms (I cannot remember the last time I used one of these). There is wireless in the lobby however no powersockets for laptops so it makes business stays very awkward. The area is also really congested and the hotel is on a one-way system so taxi fares to Palais des congress over the river ranged from €5 - €35 and could take up to half an hour. I personnally thought this was an expensive room for what you got.

Modern hotel in modern area of Paris. Metro station 100yds away and bus stop at hotel door. Very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Booked through Eurostar and got hotel (2 days) and train for 400 pounds (2 adults and 2 kids) which was a great deal. Rooms were excellent and hotel looks brand new. La Defence area very quiet on the weekend and there isn't much to do there. This was fine for us as we took metro which is basically 15mins to anywhere you want to go in Paris. Sure, this hotel is a little way out of town, but the metro will get you anywhere you want to go quickly and cheaply.Several bars, bistros etc within 5 minutes walk. The area of la Defense itself is well worth seeing, especially the arch. Rooms were fine but might be a bit small for families, but for 2 people they were ok. .Breakfast was excellent, staff were very helpful and friendly. Really couldnt fault it. We paid arond €250 for 2 people for 3 nights, B & B.
