" We return to Anfi this coming... "

We return to Anfi this coming Monday... this time we are taking the In-Laws.
Not bad for them for a free holiday ( Ok so they bought flights!!!)

Our stay at Anfi in the past has been faultless., a beautiful resort, suitable for families , couples, and the young at heart.
It still feels like the undiscovered Pearl in the Oyster... and should stay that way!

My only complaint is there arent enough cash machines-- one day I had to draw cash out and the only machine on site wasnt working- so I had to walk over a mile with my 4 kids to the nearest town/bank-- ( which, incidentally had no cash either..)

" I am an owner at the above resort. In... "

I am an owner at the above resort. In 2005 and 2007 on visiting my apartment I found it to be filthy and in need of repair. The balcony ceiling was leaking from the apartment above, tiles were missing, the washing machine was broken and the sun loungers were ruined etc, etc. Maintenance men were in and out of the apartment whilst I was in and the whole ordeal ruined my holiday. I have been complaining to the management since 2005 but no-one is prepared to do anything. I found out that the maintenance which is meant to be done yearly was actually not done for 18 months. Once they have our money Anfi is not interested in you and your complaints are swept under the carpet. Since joining in 1995 Anfi have taken things away from members on a yearly basis. When i first joined I was told that the beach was private (untrue), sunloungers on the beach were free (untrue), water sports were meant to be free (untrue). As far as I am concerned the whole place is for show only and not enough attention is given to the owners genuine complaints.

" What can I say... heaven on earth.... "

What can I say... heaven on earth. Anfi Beach Club was an amazing resort located on its own private beach.

The spacious 2 bedroom apartment ( with full jacuzzi baths) were massive with every luxury you would expect from a 5 star gold crown resort. Food, entertainment, and staff were amazing. Cannot fault the resort at all.

I will definitely be back again and recommend that anyone looking for an upmarket family holiday, away from overcrowded resorts take time out to book a holiday at Anfi resorts.

" I visited Gran Canaria for the first... "

I visited Gran Canaria for the first time this year. We visited Anfi Del Mar and was given a guided tour of the resort. We were so impressed with the facilities that we purchased a week within the holiday club.

The staff are very friendly. They will answer any questions you may have. They always have time to talk to you even though they may be very busy. No task is to big and are always on hand should you need them.

The accomodation was nice, they could do with updating the beds though. The kitchen facilities were excellent with the use of a dishwasher, washing machine and all modern kitchenware. The bathroom was pure luxury with a wonderful whirl pool bath in the bedroom!

The resort has something for everyone and to suit all pockets. Life guards by every pool, security on all exits and staff walking around day and night. The food is very good. Restaurants for a family meal and a meal for that special occasion. The resort is situated within easy driving distance to some of the larger resorts either driving, by taxi or by bus. The airport is only 35 mins away and Anfi will organise your transfers to and from the airport for a small fee.

I like the idea that should you wish to travel to somewhere else in the world (for a change) you can exchange you week with Anfi and stay at a 5 * accommodation throughout the world and book extra weeks for a very reasonable price.

The only downside that I could possibly think of is that you have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach and the owner of the sunbeds is not a very nice man, I can appreciate that this is out of Anfi's control.

" I am pleased to say that we were... "

I am pleased to say that we were given a grand tour of Anfi Beach Club in 2005 and took the plunge to buy a one bedroom apartment sleeping 4 in 2006. We have just returned from our first week’s holiday in the apartment and can honestly say the accommodation and quality of service provided was better than we could ever have hoped.

The apartment was in a prime location and very well equipped. T-Towels, cloths, soap powder, dishwasher tablets all provided (next time will reduce from 3 suitcases to one.) Staff kept the apartment and complex lovely and clean; towels and bedding were changed regularly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff throughout the complex.

Food and drink was reasonably priced at the Tropicana Bar which also offers theme nights and an excellent breakfast where you can eat as much as you want for 8.5euros and children eat for half the cost. There is an on-site Spar for essentials and another Spar along the sea front which has more choice and is slightly cheaper. The other local bars and restaurants were lovely; sandwiches, salads etc could be purchased from a snack bar along the sea front. Facilities at the other Anfi complexes can also be used but we preferred Anfi Beach Club, especially the pool and jacuzzi. We did go into Puerto Rico for a meal, couldn't walk 10 paces without being harassed by waiters etc asking for us to dine at their venue. It was a relief to get back to Anfi for a hassle free evening.

There are plenty of excursions to go on and on site entertainment is provided throughout the day and includes shooting, water polo, archery, scuba diving etc. Water sports are provided on the beach for which there is direct access to. Whilst we were there we had the joy of watching professional water ski competitions and speed boat races. If you prefer to relax then just sit back, soak up the sun (32%) for us and enjoy watching everyone else do the hard work. It’s difficult to be negative about Anfi Beach Club; however I can say that the evening entertainment could have been better although 10 out of 10 for effort. They can't win them all!

" I bought an Anfi Experience last year... "

I bought an Anfi Experience last year which hopefully I will be taking later this year. I normally rent a Duplex in Anfi Tauro but had an opportunity to rent a week at Anfi and thought I would check it out in preperation for the two week break.

Firstly I agree the staff were very friendly and accomodating and deserve a 10 out of 10 and the complex is a lovely place. The food was excellent quality but too expensive for a family of 5 with only one person paying (60 euros for a burger not including drinks). The entertainment was poor they could do with a proper place to put on the shows.

Also we were originally told there was a free gym and the sunbeds were free by the reps. This is not true as we found out. Gym membership is 10 euros a day and the sun beds on the beach and the island are 3 euros a day. You do get a discount on the island and a free umberella if you ask on the beach if you pay for the sunbeds. It has it downsides like anywhere but is a great place.

We found a lovely little music bar in Pataclava (10 mins walk) at the commercial centre and they did excellent Irish coffees. Which were very welcome on the chilly evenings.

" Fantastic range of facilities.... "

Fantastic range of facilities. Availability of four sites to visit, all with own pool and bars and restaurants. On site Spar open good hours. All staff very accommodating and will give help on any matter.

Lots of local places to see - Mogan, Puerto Rico etc and markets to go to. Food in all areas of very good quality. Site is well seviced for disabled with ramps and lifts in most areas. This is five star accom and rooms have plenty of space and all have balcony with sun beds.
