La Residencia Hotel

What an outstanding hotel! Prices may be high, but value for money is exceptional. Stunning location, extremely helpful staff, beauitful hotel and ameneties. To stay here just once is an experience I will never forget. If you appreciate the best things in life, then go!

My husband and I got married on 2nd June in the church in Deia followed by our wedding reception and honeymoon at La Residencia and everthing about the setting, and hotel was absolutley perfect, we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. Our family spent 5 nights at La Residencia recently and within 24 hours my wife had decided that we needed to book a return visit. The setting was spectacular -- mountains rising above and the Sea stretching out below. Service was phenomenally good, courteous and not the slightest bit stiff. Food at the formal restaurant was very good, as are the restaurants in town. The rooms for both the children and ourselves were perfect. This hotel has a beautiful, breathtaking setting. It is laid out over several small buildings against a gorgeous mountain backdrop. We found the hotel food to be very good, although some items, such as coffee, were more British than we would have preferred for a Spanish destination. We booked this hotel well in advance (four-five months), yet on our arrival tthe hotel staff had difficulty providing us the two rooms we reserved. We chose La Residencia to celebrate my husbands Birthday and our 7th Anniversary. I had seen the hotel featured in a well known magazine last year and thought then that it looked the perfect place for a romantic break. We booked a classic break which includes 3 nights accomodation and two dinners one at El Olivio and the other at Son Fony and enjoyed great food and service at both. We returned to La Residencia in April this year for one of their classic breaks, and took my parents with us as a treat. Both of us have stayed at La Residencia before and agree that for a simply stylish hotel La Res can not be beaten, it is immaculately maintained and well looked after. Arrived with high expectations after speaking to friends who had been, and we weren't disappointed. The facade is attractive and is in keeping with the rest of the village, and the warmth of the greeting and introduction to the hotel by Arantxia was comforting. They upgraded us at no extra cost, but there was building work which should now have ceased for the rest of the summer, and as a result, they took off 25%. We thought this was reasonable. La Residencia has a big reputation to uphold, so we were a little sceptical about how the reality would match the hype. We needn't have worried in this case. The staff were really great, very friendly and extremely efficient. The rooms we stayed in, the Tower suite and Suite 1, were excellent, nicely understated, with just the right amount of pamper. Stayed here the first week of July. From the moment we walked through the front door at reception, we were made to feel like first class travelers. We were given an upgrade to a junior suite, but we didn’t like the room because it was a little removed from the pool area. No problem! Because of availability, the next day they gave us a room in the ‘new building’ that was over the restaurant Son Fony but we never heard a peep. Stayed in the hotel for one week through a package deal. Due to availability we were upgraded to a deluxe double, which has bedroom and a sitting room off it. Don't be afraid to negotiate with them on the phone for some deals. From arrival you are treated very well from the staff, and all are extrememly helpful. My only complaint with the staff is that they are always telling you it is no problem to do something, however they rarely pass on the info to the other shift so you spend your time chasing around to get something done.<br... more
