St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca

We arrived and we greeted by a very friendly doorman who escorted us in the magnificent moorish style looby ( one of the most beautiful hotel lobbies I have ever seen). No ususal check-in procedure, we were escorted to the terrace overlooking the sea and were invited for a welcome cocktail while the usual check-in was prepared. Excellent first impression. This was my second visit to the hotel,having travelled there alone for a short break last year. It was my partners birthday during our stay & the hotel provided strawberries & champagne for us together with a birthday cake. The food is expensive but very good with an excellent wine list. The room was good-not one of the most expensive but comfotable & extremely well appointed. Plenty of room to sunbathe in truly magnificent grounds with an excellent pool. We spent a long weekend at the Mardavall, which was our second stay having first stayed there in 2004. The hotel is wonderful and perfect for families with young children because they have their own pool, well stocked with inflatables so there is lots to keep them occupied and keep them away from the main pool! For adults wanting a flop there is lots of space around the main pool and large gardens with loads of parasols and loungers and one or two hammocks swinging between trees. This is not a Sheraton Luxury hotel. Front desk and concierge staff need training. The first room we were shown was not what we had requested and was still dirty from the last guest - bed not made, room not cleaned, food left in the room. Had to "produce" our confirmation letter to prove what we had reserved. Luckily, the confirmation was on their letterhead. Had to remove charges on our bill for things that were included in our package i.e. free transportation to and from the airport. The bed was NOT a luxury bed. A king was 2 twins... more

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and had an amazing time. We were so overwhelmed by how nice the staff was and how beautiful our room was. They upgraded our room to a gorgeous suite and had champagne, roses and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us on arrival. The spa was magnificent! While we only paid for one treatment, we spent many afternoons just lazying around their steam rooms and waterbeds and salt/sweet whirlpools. Like the posts say, this is a beautiful hotel and the spa is very very nice although the gym could use some free weights and more varied equipment, but it is a good "hotel" gym. The "zen" waterbed room was very nice. BUT WATCH OUT, they will "charge" you to death - everything costs there - a rollaway bed was $185 per night (150 euros); breakfast - 25 euros = $31; and if you order room service from any of the restaurants there is a 40% markup on top of all the room service fees. the spa services were also quite expensive as are drinks.... more

Wonderful location - magnificent infrastructure - helpful but misguided staff. This hotel is one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. However for an international hotel opened only a year ago they seem to be unaware of their market. The satellite Tv of about 30 channels had approx half spanish/ half german content - the only channels in english were cnn, sky news, nbc business and bbc world plus there were 2 arab channels. There were no English entertainment or movie channels! Nothing unusual here but the dozen german... more

We travelled with friends and stayed during Valentines weekend 2003. Amazing place. Service was exceptional but not overbearing. Food was superb and the Spa "to die for!". Rooms were very large, spacious and my wife enjoyed the Valentine extras te hotel had provided. Go!

Beautiful property, loved the many pools. Well-decorated rooms and public spaces. Great destination spa. Location ideal as it is not in Palma. Employees very helpful.

We´ve been there in January 2003 with our 7 months year old son to have a relaxing time!!We were very impressed, how helpful and nice the staff was. Great Porsche-Package
