My partner & I have just returned from the Ekies All Senses Resort...
The journey from airport to hotel takes roughly 1 hour 20 mins in a taxi, but the scenery is amazing. We decided to book direct with the hotel who arranged our transfers. When we arrived at the Ekies Resort, the one thing you notice straight away is the camp site opposite the hotel. That aside, we entered the reception and were greeted with Champagne and shown around the hotel - an excellent start so far. The decor is ultra modern and very contemporary & has some very nice touches. The almost private beach was small but sufficient & looked out across the Vourvourou bay.
We had booked the Luxury Loft Suite 4 which had the balcony Jacuzzi - advertised as being one of their 'best' rooms. At first glance the room seemed perfect & we couldn't wait to try out the facilities. This room definitely has the best view of the sea & gardens - not to mention the camp site! We were surprised to find the Jacuzzi empty & dirty & there were no instructions on how to use it. We later found out that the motor had broken so when filled; it was simply a pool of water. Our bath was also missing its plug, so we were unable to use it for the duration of our stay. It rained a few nights & we noticed 3 leaks in the lounge, bedroom & bathroom which they did not seem worried about.
The bar area was very 'chilled out' and they have a number of large comfy sofas & hammocks scattered around the resort. The hotel restaurant has a number of eating arrangements i.e. half board, a la carte or gourmet. We stuck with the standard B&B option so we could satisfy our own eating desires. The food was nice but we were surprised to be told that we could not order a tea with our meal, as it would have to come from the bar next door. Also, you cannot choose meals from the a la carte menu & gourmet menu as there are two separate chefs?!
Overall the room was disappointing and the 'finishing touches' were lacking somewhat. If we were to stay again, the Superior rooms seemed adequate and the price difference is quite considerable. If you decide to explore the area you will find a gorgeous beech on the opposite side of the Island, supermarket & a good pizza restaurant down the road.
We confronted the hotel manager about our issues & were given 110 euros off the bill as a 'good will gesture'. It was also amusing to hear that the bath was only for 'decoration purposes' - thus why we had no plug. Our stay with Ekies was enjoyable, but we were unhappy with the lack of service concerning our room issues.

We booked this hotel independently and when we arrived the staff were unaware that we had booked... great start! The initial room we were put in was supposedly a 'superior' room, however it was very small and had mould growing in the wardrobes and on the walls. Obviously we were not happy with the standard and informed the management who were very unhelpful and rude, they told us that all rooms had mouldy walls - not something you would expect from a 4* hotel charging £100 per night!? After much persuasion, we were eventually moved to an alternative room which did NOT have mould on any walls!
The dining areas were very nice with views looking out to Vouvourou Bay, however the alcoholic drinks were extortionate (17 Euros for two drinks!). We ate in the main a la carte restaurant on one night only.... that was enough! The food was minimal and expensive and did not compare to the many lovely tavernas which can be found along the main village road.
There was a small beach which was nice, with sunbeds available, and the water was beautifully clear. There was a nice tree-house & seating area looking out onto the bay. The sal****er pool was small but nice, and there was a jacuzzi.
We hired a car and there were many beautiful coves around the peninsula which I would definitely recommend. We also hired a boat for a day (just along from the hotel) which cost 50 Euro's for the whole day and certainly worth it!
The island is lovely and the scenery amazing, however Ekies Resort leaves little to be desired.
