“European Chic”
I visited the Elounda Peninsula All Suites hotel on a company incentive trip with approximately 20 company members and their partners. This was a 4 night stay with some organised activities as well as lots of time to relaxing and uses the hotel facilities. My wife and I stayed in Suite 44 - “Kea” which was right on the beach over looking the small water sports harbour and Odysseus Tavern restaurant. Our private pool was a very good size and contained filtered sea water which was lovely but quite salty. The pool takes up nearly the... more
Indulgence and luxury in Crete
My wife, young daughter and I spent a long weekend in a villa in the Elounda Peninsula Hotel in June 2007. It proved to be the perfect break - the villas are luxurious and spacious, the service is as good as any in Europe and the well equipped kids facilities ensure that both parents and children are completely catered for. The coup de grace is the recently opened Six Senses Spa - a 20,000 square foot oasis of unrivalled indulgence. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking to combine the freedom of a villa with the amenities of a... more
Lovely Elounda
These people really understand hospitallity. Excellent restaurants, flawless service. Alex and Alice Ignatiadis
phenomenal!
Please refrain from listening to any review that is negative about this dream hotel. We were staying at a fabulous hotel in Paphos Cyprus, but the weather was getting bad, so we hopped off to Crete. We arrived at The Elounda Peninsula and even though we are spoint with regular stays in 5 star hotels the view, the welcome, the suite, the design, the facilities and the restaurants just blew us away! This is a supremly well run hotel, makes genuine use of local Cretian staff, and has a plethora of friendly, helpful and... more

The management and ownership of the hotel would like to thank you very much for your kind words. We have been working very hard to live up to our position as the most expensive hotel in the country, as this creates very high expectations from our guests. It gives us great pleasure to receive such positive comments and we promise to try even harder. We have just created a brand new private sandy beach for the exclusive use of our guests and there is even more in store!

Fantastic
Go there if you can This is an awesome place, great food, right on the sea which is clean, great staff, incredible rooms. I rarely stay in smart places, but if i had more cash, this is the sort of place i would love to stay in more often. Very, very chilled.

The management and ownership of the hotel would like to thank you for your kind words and promise to do our best to continue pleasing our guests in the future as much as we managed to please you during your visit. We very much look forward to your return.

wOw!
My husband and I orginally booked at the Elounda Bay Palace and it was closed for the season. They rebooked us at the Elounda Bay Peninsula and We were very scared at first but when we got there we were in shock the rooms are huge we upgraded to a room with a private heated pool. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the restaurants on site are excellent! expect to stay in your resort if you did not rent a car the drive is far to get there and get out. But would most likely go back if we go to Crete again. If you don't like one pool... more

The management and ownership would like to thank you for your kind words. We are indeed ecstatic about receiving such excellent comments again and again. Since you report liking our breakfast a lot, you will be happy to learn that we have upgraded our breakfast even more this year with new buffets and an even larger choice of dishes. You will also be happy to hear that we have even built a new private sandy beach for the exclusive use of the Elounda Peninsula guests.

OMG!!!! an amazing hotel
My husband and I stayed at the elounda peninsula the last two weeks of September. We had a peninsula collection suite with our private pool and I have to tell you the suites are huge. Our living room was on the lower level with the pool and the bedroom was on the top floor with a really big bathroom. We knew we had picked an inexpensive type of suite, so we really wanted to see what the others were like, but they were fully booked for the wedding of the owner's daughter. When we heard this we thought we would be a little inconvenienced be... more
Loved the elounda peninsula
This hotel is great. I visited for a week with my 3-year-old son and my husband. We stayed at suite number 172 (peninsula collection) and we had a great time. I read on another review that some people couldn't understand how the 'hammock' was working and they couldn't find the way to get on it!! I was surprised because i spent about 2 hrs everyday on it, relaxing and reading my book. This hotel is ideal for families. My 3-year-old son had the time of his life . At 9 o'clock in the morning of the first day i went with him to the "childrens... more
Not worth the money
This was our 4th visit to Crete and we have stayed at the Elounda Mare twice, but thought that we would give the Peninsula a go this time round. From the brochure and reviews we had read, we were expecting a hotel catering more for couples than families with small children We booked a Peninsula Collection suite which was very nice, but our particular patio more or less never got the sun at all! Given that all we want to do on holiday is sunbathe and preferably not surrounded by hordes of people, this was a bit of a problem! We... more

The ownership and management of the hotel are saddened by the fact that a single bad experience at one of our restaurants on one of Nighteyes’s dinners spoiled the overall impression of the hotel, but we are also glad that our guest has pointed out many of those things that make the Elounda Peninsula such a special choice: the fact that we will get out of our way to help our guests if they have any problems (like we changed the room when they told us that they were not getting all the sun they anticipated), and like the reserved umbrella and loungers with cold water and towel service at the beach, the private pools with hammocks over the water, and the large choice of good restaurants. As of April 2007, a brand new private sandy beach will have been completed for the exclusive use of the Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel guests, thus permanently addressing the issue raised by some. We do however point out that the beach is where you go to get a “beach scene”. For swimming in privacy, there are private pools at every single one of the hotel’s suites. The presidential suites also have private decks on the seafront. The most important thing, of course, is the fact that we will do our best to meet our client’s requests, as did with Nighteyes’s accommodation. It is exactly this that we would like to have happened in other instances. For example, the reserved loungers at the beach are not permanently assigned for the duration of the guests’ stay but we guarantee that the guests will have one of them. Some guests want the same lounger every day, others want to change around, others want the same as they had last year, etc. When a guest asked for Nighteyes’ position we checked that they had not used it for a while and moved them to another one nearby, thus giving our other guests the position they had requested. Nighteyes could have done the same when their neighbours proved to be a little too loud for comfort. We would have been more than happy to change them to another position. It’s all about asking for what you want and not expecting people to imagine that you want something different when you’re looking happy with what you’re got. The same goes for the balconies. We have a system for fencing off all our balconies, should our guests asks for it. If Nighteyes had asked for it, we would have certainly obliged. The same goes for the hammock. If Nighteyes had asked, we would have certainly explained how to get into it. We cannot know that they are not using it, simply because we cannot be looking into their private balconies! Finally, please allow me to apologise on behalf of all of us for the incident at the restaurant. Obviously there was an issue with the service on the second visit of Nighteyes and we were not properly informed of it. The Calypso restaurant is doing its best to maintain its recognition by the press as the best hotel restaurant in Greece, and we will certainly weigh these comment heavily when re-opening for the 2007 season.

Quite good but ......
Now we`ve done all 3 Major Hotels in Elounda, the E-beach, the Blue Palace and now the E-Peninsula - one thing is for sure - the bay and the vista is just amazing in all 3 of them. Does the peninsula stand out ? - In all fairness probably not .. - the room - we had a J-suite with private pool overlooking mare - was nice but then nothing outstanding for that kind of dosh (paid 960 € per room B&B) . Crew and team very nice - seem to take their job seriously and were attentative and good - probably a bit more then that ... .<br... more

The management and ownership of the hotel would like to thank you for you kind words and high marks you gave us, while we regret not satisfying you fully due to minor setbacks. We would be very happy to have received your comments directly while you were staying with us, rather than reading them now that you are long gone. I can assure you that we would have done our utmost to satisfy you fully. This hotel is the market leader in Greece and - yes - we are the most expensive hotel in the country. We try very hard to keep up to our reputation so, please, give us a chance to please you when we actually do have the chance. Nevertheless, we have taken your comments very seriously. We have changed the pricing of our Junior suites to reflect the fact that they are not as spacious as our Collection suites, and we have upgraded our breakfast even further to address the issues you raised herein: we added an even larger selection of teas to our breakfast and we added low- and medium- fat yoghurts. We do have low-fat spreads, and you probably did not notice them. We cannot stress this enough: please ask us when you're staying at the hotel and we will bend over backwards to get it done!! Whatever!!
