This hotel was so good, def 5*. We went with my dad who is in a wheel chair. They have disabled rooms. And the hotel is on the level; just don’t go out and about in the resort. You will need a hire car, as you will feel isolated.
More about the hotel, the food is certainly world class, with a huge choice for breakfast and a choice of different places to eat around the hotel and resort.
The pool is great, but it’s not heated, so I did not go in it was freezing! And lastly the staff, they are so helpful and friendly. This hotel gets a high rating in my eyes.

The resort is very new and well kept and has a 'clean and sparkly' feel to it. It is situated around a beautiful golf course so is very green and lush.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and everyone speaks English. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. It is only about a 15 minute drive from the airport and Pathos itself so very easy to get to, but also a very quiet and self contained place.
We stayed in a villa on the resort, about a five minute walk away from the resort centre and the hotel. We found ourselves feeling a little confused about the relationship between the hotel / resort / villas but the deal seems to be that as the hotel is very much at the centre of the resort, even if you are not a hotel resident, you are welcome to wander around the gardens and grounds and use the restaurants, bars etc.
All the additional hotel facilities (with the exception of a room!) are available for £10 per adult per day - simply go along to the reception in the morning to register. You will be given a day pass which entitles you to use all the pools, spa, children's club, and to revel in all the hotel luxuries - lovely fluffy towels, hot showers, bath creams and so on. We did this pretty much every day once we had discovered the option.
On the last day we also heard a rumour that as villa residents we were entitled to a 15 % discount on all meals etc in the hotel, but we didn't realise this or take advantage of it.
Next to the hotel is the resort 'village centre'. This is pretty small and includes a grocery shop, gift shop, and kids club, play ground, about three restaurants and a few other bits and pieces. (No amusement arcades, Brit pubs or anything like that!).
We went the week after the Easter holidays and the resort was very quiet. At first it seemed slightly ghost town-ish, but once we had found our way around and made ourselves at home it was simply a lovely, peaceful place to be.
We can't comment on the golf (which is very central to the resort) as we didn't play... it all seemed rather serious though, and as a complete beginner I certainly didn't feel very comfortable 'having a go' or taking my first ever lesson there. (But maybe that's just me!).
Also can't comment on the surrounding area as we didn't leave the resort. You would definitely need to hire a car to do this and see some of the nearby places. I suppose the resort did feel a bit cut off, but we didn't mind that.
In summary this is a quiet, upmarket resort. It's very peaceful with lots of pale stone, water features, and open spaces. Not at all over developed or tacky.

" I stayed at this hotel in September... "

I stayed at this hotel in September 2006 - and I’m booked to go back in September 2007! That says it all really.
The hotel is ideal for those wanting to get away from the crowd’s .The standards are excellent and the staff always willing to help. If you are a golfer the course on site is amazing - if a little pricey. The other course at Secret Valley (about 10minutes away) is less expensive and actually better - so my husband says.
The food and drink at the hotel is somewhat expensive but you expect that at a 5 star property. The 'village' nearby is good value for money and offers traditional, Italian and even a pub so will suit everybody.
I would agree with others that a car is needed if you want nightlife and see some of Cyprus. We visited Paphos a couple of times and although we liked it, we were glad to not actually be staying there.
All in this entire hotel is superb and I would recommend it highly. The only negative is the prices can be a shock to the system. The rooms, pool, restaurants, communal areas are beautiful. Well worth a visit

We visited this hotel for a week, with two children aged 3 and 8.
We had a superior room, which was a good size, with a living area, double sofa-bed. Fantastic bathroom, with a huge corner shower and deep bath.
These superior rooms are on the corner of each block of rooms, four on the first floor, and four on the ground floor.
Fantastic outdoor swimming pools, lovely baby pool - which is covered, by what looks like a sail (great for the summer), kids club well organised, but not used by many in the week we were there.
Indoor swimming pool, gym, and Spa were all fantastic and well used.
We had breakfast included which was excellent, good choice, fantastic omelettes cooked to order.
The village square with various restaurants, supermarket car rental and tourist office is only a couple of minutes walk. Very good choice of restaurants at reasonable prices.
The golf looked superb, but we didn't play. Our room overlooked the 7th fairway, which looked narrow - but superb, we shall definitely be back to play.
The staff at this hotel were excellent - couldn't do enough for you. We had a couple of really heavy thunderstorms whilst there, and the concierge staff didn't hesitate to offer their golf buggy to get us from reception to our room.
Not overly keen on the beach club, not a sandy beach. But I guess if you want a change from the pool it would be worth trying. Complimentary beach towels, transport, and bottle of water.

We booked a week through Amathus, who also offered villas at the Aphrodite Hills Resort, so we decided to rent one with its own swimming pool. Breakfast was included in the price, which we were supposed to take at the hotel.
When we arrived, we found our villa was about 3km from the “village” and the hotel, so if we hadn’t hired a car, we would have been stuck at the villa. The hotel didn’t know anything about our breakfast, apparently we were meant to have it at the Golf Club. Then it turned out that the breakfast wasn’t included in our booking after all, despite having had a written confirmation of it. Apparently Amathus had made a “mistake”.
A bigger mistake they made was not mentioning the truth about this resort. Aphrodite Hills Resort is still a building site. There are many villas already completed, but there are works going on everywhere. At the time of our booking, we asked specifically about building works and we were assured that our villa would not be affected. In reality it was so noisy that we were forced to spend most of our days elsewhere.
We were unable to relax, to swim, and enjoy some peace & quiet by the pool during the day (the builders even worked at the weekend!). Some evenings were also rather disturbed by aeroplanes, which were routed over the Resort when the wind was blowing from the West. We visited the hotel itself many times - it seemed nice, if a bit pretentious and soulless.

" We stayed here for a week’s holiday... "

We stayed here for a week’s holiday in September. The hotel is nice and new and the gardens and golf course looked very well looked after.
There are 2 larger outdoor swimming pools and 1 small, shallow for pool for small children (which is also covered with a canopy).
There was a good shallow area in one of the larger pools for families with small children too. Sunbeds around the pool were plentiful and there sunny and shaded area's around the 2 pools. (Please note: loungers could get a bit uncomfortable as there was no cushions on them.)
The restaurant around the pool was very good, with tables in the shade and in the sun.
Our room was well appointed, overlooking the golf course. The bathroom had a separate shower cubicle & bath. I was impressed with amount of storage area for your clothes, plenty of shelves, drawers and hanging space. We had wine and fruit in our room on arrival, which was a nice touch.
The Breakfast in the main buffet restaurant was very good, lots of choice and good quality food. We did not try this restaurant for our evening meal, as we are not keen on buffet meals in the evening. There was a different theme there every night.
We tried the other two restaurants, positioned either side of the main restaurant and they were both excellent, especially the 'Leander' restaurant. The wine lists had some good new world and American wines on them.
If the weather is good you can eat out on the terrace every evening in all of these restaurants.
The hotel provided a free shuttle bus down to their beach club. This was a very impressive facility. There were loungers (with very comfortable cushions on them) and parasols.
There was a lovely canopied decking area with dining tables and chairs, and also lounge area with comfortable sofa's and sofa tables. There was a good menu for drinks and food here. The calamari is excellent! I would highly recommend it.
Families didn't tend to use the beach club facility when we were there, maybe because it was a pebble beach, not good for sandcastles!
One thing that really impressed us throughout the hotel was the service. All the staff throughout the hotel was excellent.
We didn't try the golf or the spa, although the golf course looked excellent.
The only thing that isn't so good about hotel is how remote it is. There is a shuttle bus into Paphos on two days of the week. The bus goes about 9am ands picks you up about 4pm.
I did mention this to the hotel and they may look into the possibilities of increasing the service in 2007.

Excellent hotel, spacious, pure luxury, food is amazing, staff are attentive & helpful, everything here that you would ever need from a hotel, spa golf, etc, etc.
Might need to hire a car if you get bored easily as its about 20 mins from Paphos centre so if you want a bit of night life etc you will need to drive or be prepared to pay for taxis. Hotel rooms are luxurious, air con, television, pay per view movies, iron, ironing board, safe, mini bar massive marble bathrooms with separate bath & walk in shower.
Lovely views from balcony normally overlooking the golf course or pool unless you pay for a sea view. Would not hesitate going back would highly recommend for couples, young families & honeymoons & weddings. Hotel prices are average - not cheap but not excessive seen as your in a 5* star.
Over all a great hotel, with great service, attention to detail & great food.
Wow!

We had found in internet an "interesting" two night vacation called 2 –Day Christmas Eve in a Deluxe Room with Pool or Garden View package at the luxury InterContinental Aphrodite Hills hotel: a resort village 20 km from Paphos for 198 euro per person (that was the price mentioned on the website for that offer ) the offer was reserved to the local market.... (anyway we are from Nicosia).
At the check in we were welcomed by reception and we expected to pay 198 euro x 3: totally 594 euro, we were three person.
But, as a big surprise for us the receptionist asked us to pay 180 euro per person per each “NIGHT”…. totally 1080 euro. We were shocked from such unexpected proposal and we started to argue with receptionist girl called Anna. After about 20 min. of the argue and stress from our side, as we need to show and to explain what should be the right bill, the girl told us that she will check better in the reservation system, what she did and finally she apologized for the mistake done during the reservation time from other person. Then she asked us to pay 794 euro, 594 in advance for 3 persons for 2 days package and 200 euro in advance for the mini bar, in case we will take some drinks, it will be already paid. Ok, we accepted that. Then our two night short vacation started. During our stay we always felt uncomfortable, caused from the girls of reception, which were looking at us with a bit strange hostile looking…. Anyway we didn’t care so much about that and we tried to continue our “relaxing” short vacation… The sauna and the pool to be honest was nice, but too small. We expected more from a 5 star Aphrodite Hills hotel resort….
On 25 morning we booked a Thai massage in the Aphrodite Hills Spa, my masseur to be honest was pressing so much on my body with her little and acuminate fingers that I couldn’t relax at all. My wife instead of me ,got a good masseur she was ok. The day after, our last day at 11:00 AM, we got a Swedish massage from the same Thai girls in the same Thai room with elephants on the wall, but this time I was lucky… my masseur was ok. My wife instead, was suffering so much from the massage of Thai girl that she wanted to run away before time , but she kept strong , shame to offend the “masseur”.
At 12:30 on 26 of December , so called boxing day, we went to the last lunch included in the package, we arrived in the lunch room and the waiter, very kind one, showed us our sitting place “OUTSIDE” on the balcony on the temperature of about 17 grades, we were again shocked from the such proposal (it was sunshine outside, but really cold) and we started to argue with the waiter which told us that the lunch room was fully booked (the room was totally empty….). Then I start to scream on the waiter of Aphrodite Hills, who’s face was like a stone when he told us that he will ask to the boss, if he can solve “our problems”. After a few minutes they gave us a table in the lunch room. We were eating for almost 40 min, and in that time only a half room was occupied from clients.
So we tried to enjoy the food, but the stress we have got from the time spent on the argue, inhibited that.
Then, we finished our lunch and went away, but the waiter was running after us with the bill of 87 euro, in his hand pretending we should have paid the bill of that lunch. But I have to spent my time to explain that the lunch was included in the package, then, the stone face waiter immediately apologize for the mistake and charged us only the drink, 6 euros.
After the nice lunch, we went to pack ready to pay the rest and go finally away from that place. But something in my mind told me that probably something else will follow again……
And it was….
At the reception a girl called Veronica (polish one probably ) tried to charge us again 180 euro per person per every night, totally 1080 euro instead of 594, plus of course 6 spa treatments done during our stay . My patience level went down, it was the last drop I start to scream to the girl… in the same moment I could hear a couple on my left hand side, arguing with another receptionist for the same problem, they try to overcharge their bill as they were doing for us. After 30 min. of the stress at the Aphrodite Hills reception desk, I had to go back to the room to collect all the invoices which we got at our arrival, while checking in to show them again our right and to proof their mistake done at the reservation. Then, before I could show the document printed at arrival, Veronica finally spoke to her Manager, which was right there, arguing with other couple for the bill, and she had confirmed that we were correct and then with a big face of stone apologized for the mistake which was done from other people at the reservation, trying to convince us that she “was not guilty” at all for that.
Finally we had paid what we have to pay and went away with a ruined feeling of Christmas 2008. Thanks to the crock management of intercontinental Aphrodite Hills hotel in Paphos….
Stay alive at the intercontinental Aphrodite Hills hotel in Paphos!
