Almena Hotel

we stayed here in april 2008 but it has been bought by another hotel and is now called the club nergis beach. i had read loads of bad reviews about this hotel so was quite worried but i couldn't find fault. we arrived at 3 in the morning and the owner greeted us food and drink were available if we wanted it. the rooms we stayed in (D block) were on the small side but for two of us they where ok, very clean and comfortable. nice view even though we had a side view and it looked out onto the street you could still see the sea. the food was ok nothing to complain about and breakfast was lovely, fresh rolls and the chef outside by the pool cooked omlettes to order. staff were fantastic very helpful and friendly especailly ahmed and the photographer who took some fantastic pics of our daughter. the hotel is right on the seafront and the grounds are lovely. we went very early in the season and the weather wasn't to good in the begining so we had a turkish bath which was great fun. best trip for us was to rhodes thomas cook rep was really helpful. all in all a good hioliday for the money we paid only 1599.95 all inclusive for 4 adults including insurance and car park at airport. only problem we had besides some very heavy rain was the noise from the bar but thats coz we're not party animals and need our beauty sleep but for our kids aged 18 and 22 it was fantastic and there wasn't any entertainment but we didn't miss it as we made our own. if you are looking for a cheap all inclusive holiday in a livley area then this hotel is fine i know our kids would love to go again but later in the season.
