Great appartments dont be put of
from kaz737
just returned from these apartments after reading some of the comments didnt know what to expect when we arrived on sun 2 march we were more than pleased nice big room 2 camp beds for the kids plus 2 sofas that pulled out in to beds our bed room was massive could have fitted 2 double beds in it.All you need for a self catering holiday cleaned 3 times aweek towels changed dont know what the complaints were about the bathroom was huge all staff were friendly.Cant understand these people that have put realy bad reviews about this place if you exspect to get a 4 star appartment then you obviously need to book a 4 star and not a 2 or 3 and pay the price of a 4.The only problem with theses appartments is they are about 15 mins walk to the centre but it is a nice walk and you can also go on the curtasy bus or a taxi will cost you 3 euros .The lift at the appartments doesnt work so anyone with walking difficilties will find it hard to get up and down the stairs so ask for a ground floor i know it advertises a lift in the brochure but to tell the truth i dont think this lift has worked for months if not years. All in all we had a great holiday and yes we would go back
paradise lost!!!

we booked this holiday almost a year in advance , and so expected to be staying in reasonably good accommodation , however the reality was very different !!! we arrived at the apartments to find that as we needed a 2 bed apartment , as our kids were with us we were three floors up with no working lift . The rooms themselves were filthy , the beds damp and all of the other furniture looked as if it had been kicked around the apartment , to add to the ambience , the bathroom door didn't close ! We knew that this wasn't just bad luck because my sister 's room wasjust as bad if not worse . The location of ther apartments was also shocking with a walk of around 45 mins i order to reach shops and restaurants in the main commercial district , which would be unworkable if staying on a self catering basis , with young kids . We spoke to our rep who got us a move to playa club apartments in puerto del carmen for 600 euros , which we are now trying to reclaim from thomas cook as we felt badly let down by the travel agent, I cant stress strongly enough ; DONT WASTEYOUR HARD EARNED CASH BY BOOKING A HOLIDAY AT THIS COMPLEX ... IT'S A DIVE....you have been warned...
shouldn't be allowed

Once I'd booked my holiday for 6, I then looked at the reviews for Paradise Club Costa Teguise. These were very disapointing and worrying so the travel agents tried their hardest to get me a refund or to upgraade the accomadation. Thomas Cook made no effort to do either. How Members of Thomas Cook can sleep at night knowing that they are allowing people to stay in such awful places I don't know. On arrival at the apartment our worst fears were confirmed. Firstly we found that the lift up to all floors (which we were on the top)was not working and looked like it hadn't worked for a long time. The apartment which was for 6 persons had only one toilet. The small bedroom had only one drawer for clothes. A very small inadequate microwave, no main oven . The door on the very small freezer compartment within the fridge was missing and the compartment was all iced up. There was only 4 dining chairs. Cutlery was missing. Totally inadequate cupboards for storing food. The seats on the settee were stained and the whole apartment was generally dirty and totally unsatisfactory for 6 persons. The pool bar was also disgusting we didn't feel comfortable sitting on the chairs or drinking from the glasses. There were empty glasses left around the pool. We couldn't spend one night in such filth so were up graded. If you're planning a holiday in Costa Tequise look for 4 star accomodation. Costa Teguise was very pleasent, clean, nice beach, some excellent restaurants and very friendly.
don't expect the ritz!!!

Just back from these apartments, Had an absolutely great time and really chilled out. not suitable for anyone looking for a lively resort. we were about 20 mins walk from the resort centre but there was a free bus which took you there. had not bad weather but maybe if you want hotter go feb/mar. no entertainment apart from bad singer on thursday night and a reptile show on the sat who were only interested in getting money out of you for photos. thet took two for twenty euros. you weren't allowed to buy one it was two or nothing. boys had fab time at diving centre but be sure you are clear about price and confirm what you are getting for your money. had problem but it was sorted out.. misunderstanding! la ola restaurent is great for food, reasonable and only 10 min walk from apt. chinese next door to this was fab too but don't make the mistake of ordering starters as portions supersized. if you like fab accomodation these are not for you bit shabby and sheets not changed in week alto towels changed 3 times. fine for a relaxing break if you get it cheap enough
Winter Sun
from Bubblegum2315
My boyfriend and I went to Lanzarote over Dec/Jan for some Winter Sun. The weather was briliant for the week we were there although it was really cold at night. We arrived at the apartments around 12.30am and the reception had closed, but one of the bar staff came down to let us in and checked us in. The complex is smallish so was easy to find the room, although the lifts aren't used for some planning application loophole. they are used in buildings with more than 4 floors. Our room was spotless and pretty spacious. They were cleaned every other day and had basic amenities. Hob, toaster, microwave and kettle. There were no irons at reception, although the rep gave us hers. The apartments are situated in a residential area and are quite a distance to the beach and main town centre. About a 30minute walk. However, the hotel runs about 3 buses a day to the beach. The pool wasn't heated and there weren't many sun loungers. A few towels on them early but no bodies on them till later. The bar was a good size with pool table and table tennis. It served food till about 9pm. The reception is shared by a sister hotel next door called Las Collinas. In Las Collinas was a minimarket which was reasonably priced although there are big supermarkets only a 10min walk away.
Debatable Paradise!

We booked this place for a Dec/Jan stay to see in the New Year in some warm, rather than the minus 2 at home! We were told that the hotel is 3 1/2 stars which it is NOT! We were given a room on arrival of A21 - this room was terrible. Firstly it stank, it was filthy and most of the stuff was broken, that was a broken down version the list of faults were endless. The balcony was so small we were unable to sit on it. Compared to the rest of the balconies was less than half the size, the room I would not have given a star too at all. We arrived on the Thursday and were unable to be moved until the Sunday. We moved to C02 and this room was 3 star it was spacious clean and nice, unfortunately on the ground floor near the kids area and near the bar so could be a little noisy but nothing that would stop you from sleeping. A little about the place, the paradise club shares its facilities with las collinas nxt door (the better of the 2) there is a pool in each which are not heated none of which we used. There is a mini supermarket in Las Collinas which is reasonable but not cheap as you are lead to believe. There is 2 bars one in each complex (one of which was closed) the other in the Paradise puts all sorts of entertainment etc on, which we never went in (wasnt really our scene) but always busy. The appartment is set out of Costa Teguise it is a 25min walk into the first main area but the hotel does put on a courtsey bus and a taxi is only 3 euro. The appartments a pretty full i am led to believe all year round however the las collinas was closing pending refurbishment. The Paradise Club would be great as a last min deal if you dont mind walking or quite happy to stay on the complex all the time. The first room we stayed in was terrible and a very dissappointing start to a nice stay. Reception speak excellent English You have to also pay to watch TV in your room.
Not a bad place.

First impressions are always important. We arrived about 10.30 pm, so was dark. Greeted by the main front wall all lit up was quite encouraging. Receptionist was quite pleasant and polite, but you find your own room. The room was huge! Big living area, bedroom ok, large shower area. No balcony, as we were on the ground floor, it was out the doors and into the pool. The soft furnishings need replacing, the matresses have definately seen better days and are a tad uncomfortable. The appartment was visited by a cleaner every other day and are spotlessly clean. You also get a microwave, toaster, kettle, TV and an ironing board. There are 2 pools in the complex, regularly cleaned, but along with other unheated pools on the island, are a bit on the cold side. There are plenty of sunbeds to go round, so reserving them is not nessessary. There is a bar that serves food on the complex, reasonably priced. The location of the complex is quite far out, but free coaches are laid on till 5.35 pm. If you choose to walk, the streets are quite pleasant. People with mobility problems should take this into consideration. Taxi's to and from the complex vary from 3-4 euros. Overall, this is not a bad place. The pro's far outweigh the con's.
Paradise? Not!

25 minute walk away from the main resort might prove a problem for some however this was not the only problem. The shower was only hot for a few minutes. too few electrical sockets, meaning mirror had to be moved across the room to dry hair some did not work ....no lights in the bathroom, ice box door broken..... bedding dirty and only to be changed once a week. Bed had springs poking through. Couches had slats missing.and were covered in crumbs between the matresses.... rooms painted sickly yellow. Poolside....not enough mattresses for sunbed otherwise reasonably pleasant On the bright side male reception and bar staff were helpful for some reason the female staff were not so friendly. Oh and the rooms were spacious.
Lovely apartments, shame about the weather

My husband and i have have just returned from a weeks holiday in Lanzarote. The Lanzarote Club Paradise Apartments are classed as 3* and i would say that this is about right. The apartments themselves were huge- they can easliy accomodate 4 adults and 2 children. There is English satilite TV in the apartments, including sky movies but the only downfall is that the TV is coin operated- about 1 Euro for a hour. Because of the appalling bad weather that we encountered during the week, we must have put £30 into watching the television. The location of the apartments are not ideally situated, they are about 2km away from the main resort, and are in a residential area. On the positive side though there is a courtesy bus that will take you there, but this runs only about 4 times a day. Because the apartments are self-catering, you will find plenty of supermarkets 10 minutes down the road (all Nettos). I found this place to be a relaxing environment, but because of the weather- to which it rained heavily with winds- there were not a lot to do. I strongly recommend to people not to go to Lanzarote in January as it got very cold
Great time. Will definitely go again

We have just spent a fantastic week in Playa Blaca and stayed at the Sun Royal apartments with our 2 daughers aged 3 and 1. We were on the ground floor and had a great view of the pool. (I did not go to any of the upper apartments, and cannot comment on the size of them or the safety of the balconies). These apartments are about 10 mins stroll to the beach and around 15 min stroll to old harbour area. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment - the bedroom is a very good size with lots of storage space. The lounge has a sofa bed with a pull out mattress. The sofa bed is ok, but the pull out mattress wouldn't be very comfortable for an adult. Bathroom was good and clean(bath with shower overhead and shower curtain). Good drainage in floor so no problem. Lounge area fair size and clean (microwave, 2 ring hob, fridge, toaster, juicer and coffee maker). Fridge was in need of replacement, but clean. Didn't cook much as the restaurants along the beach and in the town are good value and offer lots of variety. Supermarket on site is reasonably priced and has most things that you would need. There are 2 pools, one full sized and one small for toddlers. Both were very cold and we prefered to stroll down to the beach where the water was warmer. Pools and surroundings clean - lots of evidence of maintenance staff on site all day doing odd jobs. Playa Blanca is child friendly and is superb for families and couples who want a relaxing holiday. No lager louts or loud discos! There is a paved promenade that goes from one end of playa blanca to the other, starting at the new marina (Marina Rubicon) and ending up in the town. (Before we went on holiday, I had a look at the following website which gives a good description, including slideshow of playa blanca - [--]. Not many shops at the marina, but we had a nice lunch at the Tex Mex restaurant which had a large menu. Child portions are very large. My daughers shared one between them. Lots of opportunity for dinner in the relaxed and informal/traditional restaurants overlooking the sea in the town. Good mix of shops in old harbour area ranging from duty free perfumes/watches/jewellery/electical goods to local goods, leather and lace work etc. Beach areas very clean and well serviced, water sports and snorkelling available. Lots to see and do in Lanzarote - we went on a trip to Timanfaya National park with its 'lunar' landscape. We also had a ride on a camel there. Would recommend this as it is an experience! You can also get a ferry to Fuerteventura which you can see from the beach. There are trips to the aqua park in Costa Teguise and many more. Wonderful resort - want to go straight back now. If you want a relaxed, chilled atmosphere this is the place to go and would definitely stay at Sun Royal again.
just back from a week at the lanzarote paradise club beds so narrow my husband and i were frightened to turn round incase we fell on floor we spent the first night waging war with cockroaches when we spoke to reception they said they didnt have a problem with cockroaches... more
