Novotel Nice Arenas Aeroport

I gave this hotel a second chance and they passed with flying colors. I stayed here for one night in March 2002 and experienced unhelpfulness similar to that described in MLD31's review. Five years of water under the bridge, the memory has dimmed for me into actually a funny story that is too long to write here and so much the better because I had a great stay this time. I only spend one night here before a flight home. The rooms are nice, large and a bit more upscale than normally found at Novotel. The hotel is located right across the street from the airport. It takes about 5 min to walk there by a passageway. I would not stay here for an extended vacation, mainly due to the location, because the hotel itself is really nice, but for one night this was perfect. I had room service which came promptly and was really good.

We stayed here on 9 June 2007. This hotel was ideal for us as a family of 3 adults and 2 children (3.5 and 1.5 years). We had two interconnecting rooms which worked well. In the larger of the two rooms we had two adults and our 1.5 year old in a cot and in the other room, the adult slept in the bed and the lounge chair pulled out into a bed so the 3.5 year old was able to sleep there. We stayed in the hotel prior to flying out of Nice. It is your average airport hotel. No character, a relatively simple bar and restaurant, a clean but smallish room. Obviously chosen for the proximity to the airport, it meets the expectations. It is close and relatively cheap. Free parking. Would stay there again if I fly out of Nice, but not for any other reason.

Stayed for one night before leaving for US. The room we were in was completely redone and very nice. Super convenient to Nice Airport as the hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport and they were very quick. The staff was nice and if you wish to go to the city center there are buses available either from the airport or very near the hotel. You could walk to the airport, especially if you are traveling light, otherwise take the shuttle. Be aware that Delta leaves from terminal #2 and not the International terminal #1.

Despite the mixed reviews for the Novotel Arenas hotel at Nice Airport, we needed a hotel in Nice for 3 nights with a family room (for 2 adults and 2 children), arriving late in the evening and leaving early in the morning, so having stayed in many Novotels around Europe without any problems before, we decided to stay at the Novotel Arenas as the problems highlighted in previous reviews were out weighed by the convenience of the hotel to the airport for our flights. We stayed here for 3 nights in April. Now this staff is beyond my comprehension. They all look as if they are so terribly unhappy all the times. God helps you if you need anything else extra! The food at the restaurant is adequate but do not expect to be full if you just order what you would typically order. We have traveled all over the US and US. The room was great to look at,very comfortable, the view was nice, the location is great.But... The hotel has NO AIR CONDITIONING, this was a nightmare. DO not go there in the summer, spring, or anytime its not freezing outside. It was cold outside in early april at night but still the room was a nightmare. The do have a free shuttle to airport,. Be warned though you wont sleep.

Plus - parking in basement (for a steep fee), adequate restaurant on premises. Minus - room stuffy when we arrived, called reception and was told windows could not be opened! Next day, the day (and the room) were very warm and a/c would not work. Called reception and they said that ac was not turned on for the season yet, but that they could open the window!
