Stegna Bay Apartments Reviews
" We booked these apartments... "
Submitted By: little-jan
We booked these apartments independently from the internet www.stegnabay.gr Fotini and her husband Kostas collected us from the airport free of charge, the first three days we had a downstairs studio, which was ample even for 4 of us. We were moved upstairs to a two bed apartment, with full fitted kitchen absolutely huge living area with tv, satellite (didn't need to use it), sofa bed for extra guests and a settee, table and chairs inside if you wanted to eat in (we did a couple of times bought all our food from archangelos), one bedroom has two single beds the other a double, the bathroom is equipped with full size bath, and shower with glass shower panel, which is a major plus no soggy wet towels needed on the floor.
It was cleaned every three days by Fotini the owner, linen and towels changed, we came back one day after being on the beach and found a cake which had been home baked had been left in the kitchen.
Our second visit to Stegna this year and wont be our last, many thanks to George from Mercedes who is the most genuine person you could meet, on our last day he had some octopus , (caught earlier that day by a friend) which we had never tried, so he set up a barbeque and cooked them along with a greek salad and ouzo, really made our last day special.
We tried Dimitris which is behind the Aroma restaurant, fantastic food and so cheap, also ate at knights castle, kozzas fish restaurant and Aroma which we never tried in July, never had a bad meal.
Also need to thank Christos and Georgia, Pete Nikos and Richard (and Jake) from Mercedes, had a brill time again, never tried Jacks bar or the blue window, up the hill, but there's always next time. Snorkelling in Stegna is amazing so many fish and octopus to see.
Other places worth a visit is the Valley of the Butterflies only 5 euros, the water park in Faliraki so much fun (slept like a log that night), the monastery at Tsampika, what a view yes its 300 steps up but the view from the top is amazing.
Will definitely be going back to these apartments next year all I can say keep Stegna a secret for a lot longer not touristy and the locals are so friendly, we'll be back see you all next year.

We had a good view of the sea from our upstairs apartment, which is behind and between Jacks Bar and Sergios Apartments on the front. The owner Fotini was very helpful, cleaned & changed our rooms every 3 days, even baked us a cake and also sent us home with a present from Greece. Roughly 150m from the beach along an unlit lane at night, so take a torch.
There is a nice walk up by Anastasias Garden Apartments which eventually takes you on to the main road out of Stegna, or further up the hill beside the goats if you are feeling a bit more energetic.
There are lots of lovely restaurants in Stegna, really spoilt for choice, difficult to have a favourite but Maria's food is excellent just along from the apartments and beside the supermarket.
There is a bus to Archiangellos (which is a large town with supermarkets & fruiterers etc) 2 or 3 times a day, a taxi is about 7 euros, from here you can get a bus to any of the other resorts, e.g. Rhodes, Falaraki, Lindos etc.
Stegna is a very quiet resort, ideal for couples and families.
