My boyfriend and I, a young couple, prefer the quieter destination, without all the hustle and bustle. The Souli Hotel was indeed quiet, so this was a positive.
When we booked, we knew that because of the price we paid for two weeks, bed and breakfast, everything would be pretty basic.
We arrived early in the morning, and was offered a free drink after we checked in. When we got to our room, it was filthy. There were dead insects everywhere, the floor hadnt even been washed or swept even. We couldnt use any of the draws, as they were also dirty, with previous peoples belongings still in them. We went to sleep on a negative and woke to find our 'mountain view' was really a balcony looking out onto a busy high road. Beyond this point there was just waste land, apart from a view newly built villas and a shed which must of ran the water works or something, which lead to a loud ringing sound throughout the daytime. Once we spent a day out, we returned to a lovely clean room, its just a shame it wasnt like this for our arrival.
The breakfast provided was brilliant, compared to what we had witnessed previously. Unlike your normal continental breakfast, there was a bit of variety, some mornings there were scrambled eggs and bacon, some mornings fried eggs and beans. The usual toast and jams were also available.
We spent most of our time around the pool area, which was always lovely and clean, very quiet, no disturbances at all.
The walk to the harbour is about a 10 minute walk, not the nicest walk when its late at night, as one side of the main road is also waste land. Some lovely restaurents are available. I suggest visiting the restaurent nearer the end of the harbour strip, i cant remember the name, but the men all wear red t-shirts. The manager sounds English, but is actually Bulgarian, food was brilliant there, we went every night!
We also spent many evenings in the irish bar, from the people who miss home, this is the best place to go, they have a pool table, sports on their tv, wifi, English music and they do roast dinners on Sundays, as well as pie and mash.
The staff at the hotel, we thought were rude most of the time. Its a family run business, a lot of them are quite young, the older guests were treated differently to us. You could be waiting at the bar outside for ages to order a drink, even after ringing the bell. There just not willing to make thier guests happy.
NOTE: High prices per day for air conditioning in hotel room, even at the hottest time of the year. No fridges were available either.
Overall, it was ok, but wouldnt ever return.

nearly double the price of other, cleaner, BETTER accommodation in the immediate area. Breakfast was very basic, nearly as basic as the Y.M.C.A hostel type room. Pool dirty on waters edge, and could not see the bottom. WE LIVE IN CYPRUS, lovely area, great restaurants, friendly people. But please please please Hotel Souli, invest some money back into your business and NOT just on new luxury cars for yourselves,or LOWER your rates. Tourists deserve so much more than you are willing to offer. And once they realise the other options, you will have that beautiful location all to yourselves.

Our 3rd visit to Cyprus, 2nd time to this Hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and we had the most fantastic sea view this time, its worth paying the small amount to upgrade as it can make all the difference. The food is fantastic and we ate half board at the Hotel for our weeks stay, which you can have at lunch or dinner, also trying their new venture Alfresco in Blue Alacarte Restaurant which has food cooked to 1st class standards.
The staff are busy constantly but still atentive George and Andreas in the Restaurant work like trojans from 11 in the morning until late at night.
Latchi Harbour is only a short 15 min walk along the seafront where you can eat in the many Restaurants, they also have water sports facilities, its well worth hiring a boat to take along the peninsular and up to the blue lagoon where the snorkeling is fab. It is also an idea to hire a car to explore the Troodos Mountains as they are also an experience!
We shall def be back!!!

Just returned from a relaxing week break at the Souli. This is ideal to chill out and have sun and very good food. The staff were very attentive and the harbour at Latchi is a 10 minute stroll away. We would return again and hire a car next time and stay longer. go before it becomes to built up.

we have just retuned from 10 days at latchi staying at the 2* Souli. A welcoming cold beer was given (and gratefully recieved)on our arrival. Souli is a good place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing time. You can have breakfast right next to the sea in the mornings (cooked or cold) and enjoy good food for your evening meal if you want to stay at the hotel. The pool area is clean with sun beds and parasols. The rooms are basic but cleaned every day with sheets/towels changed every 3 days. The family run hotel is very freindly with English spoken almost all of the time. We enjoyed our chats with all the family at one time or another throughout our stay.
Latchi harbour with it's dozen or so restaurants and friendly staff is 15 minutes stroll along the seafront. latchi is just starting to develop so get there quick if you don't want to see the "kiss me quick" hats!.
If you stay longer than a week, hire a car and explore further there's plenty to see.
date of stay 7/10 to 17/10/09.

Great Holiday, perfect for late October, weather late 70s and very nice to be in. Quite quiet, but nice, 10 minute walk to the harbour and all the restaurants, beautiful harbour. We went on a boat trip, 25 euro per audlt including a nice BBQ lunch. The water was warmish and very clean.
A lot of new properties going up, but not a disturbance to us. Eat really well at, tried a new restaurant each night, the hotel restaurant was great and a beautiful ti eat.
The apartment was clean, friendly staff a nice but fairly simple breakfast.
We travel quite alot and would go back to this hotel again, especially at this time of year.

This was my second visit to Cyprus but my first to the western Paphos area. We went in order to celebrate our friends’ wedding in Coral Bay but chose Latchi for our home base as it appeared much quieter & more traditional.
The Souli is positioned on the beach a mere 5 minute walk from the small harbour which forms the central hub of the resort. We were welcomed with a complimentary beer and our room on the 1st floor was basic but clean with a good sized balcony overlooking the pool and the sea beyond. As it was north facing it didn’t receive any direct sunlight and so, despite daytime temperatures in excess of 30C, the room remained cool enough to dispense with the need for air conditioning which is charged for as a supplement.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout and our room was cleaned daily. We suffered very little noise disturbance other than the daily 8am clanging of the metal doors which cover the pool cleaning equipment. The pool is relatively small but we mainly chose to swim in the sea instead. The beach is pebbly but the water is crystal clear.
Breakfast choices were somewhat limited and we generally chose to eat elsewhere for lunch and evening meals as the choice & quality of the fish restaurants in the resort is exceptional. Particularly good were the Y&P Hotel & Fish Tavern on the harbour and the Periyali which is right next door to the Souli and proved to be excellent value. Check out what is fresh on the fish counter before you decide what to order.
A car is essential in Latchi as the resort is small and relatively remote. We booked ours in advance from the airport but car hire is available in the resort. Paphos town is about a 45 minute drive over the mountains and the drive up the coast to Pomos is lovely but if you want to explore the nearby Akamas peninsular then a 4WD vehicle is recommended for the unsurfaced tracks. The nearby town of Polis and the little hilltop village of Neo Chorio have a number of old buildings and traditional tavernas. Polis also has a good sandy beach to the east.
As well as the excellent restaurants, Latchi has a couple of banks, supermarkets, a jeweller and several operators offering boat hire, scuba diving and water sports. We hired a 140bhp “rib” for 4 hours from George’s and were lucky enough to see a turtle as well as explore and snorkel around the numerous islands, caves & hidden beaches along the Akamas coast.
The only slight negative to Latchi is that, like so much of the area, there is an enormous amount of building work going on with numerous unfinished villas lining the road between the Souli and the resort centre. But all in all I would definitely recommend it to those who either want a quiet beach/pool holiday or those who, like us, wanted a base from which to explore the western part of the island as well as enjoy the fantastic seafood on offer.

Excellent hotel . Beautiful views from the sea facing rooms . Rooms were very clean-maid service every day. The food was great and good value 12 euros for 3 courses .
Latch is a lovely place ,very quiet . We did lots of watersports with Latchi watersports -I would recommend them . They will give you a good deal if you are booking a few things.
I would recommend that you take water shoes for the sea as it is very pebbly but the water is lovely .
I would definitely go back

We have just returned from a two week holiday at the Hotel Souli. I beg to differ from the previous report. Myself and husband had a sea view room and an older son occupied a separate sea view apartment. We found the staff very helpful, nothing too much trouble, Frixos and Donna very hard working and the waiters never stopped running. The food was excellent, breakfast just how we liked it. Rooms were spotless and there was maid service everyday. Our towels were pure white and fluffy better than mine at home. Latchi a lovely little village, the staff in the supermarkets, bars and restaurants very helpful and cheerful We never once drunk English beer. Faros reastaurant had cheerful staff and the food was excellent. The Cyprus beer was very satisfying and refreshing. Our Rep, Dawn, was a mind of information and helpful. We attended a niece's wedding whilst there and had a fantastic time. What's up with people you are on holiday for God's sake. Get a life, perhaps, Torquay, Bournemouth or any of the English resorts would suit better but for us Hotel Souli, Latchi and the Cypriot people fine for us. We did not want to leave, could have stayed for another week at least. Will certainly go back just for the sunsets.

I have just come back a week early after the disaster of a holiday! I was very disappointed with Cyprus as a whole- completely lacks charm, culture and has a very bad atmosphere.
Nobody wants to do anything for you, staff are generally very unattentive, arrogant and you feel as though you are putting them out of their way to ask for a drink- this is not just in the Hotel but throughout the whole of Cyprus!
Very little to do in Latchi, nothing there. All that Cyprus seems to offer is poor food, pebbly, lttered beaches (and not of the good kind) stray cats wherever you go and miles between places. YOU MUST HAVE TRANSPORT if you are staying in Cyprus, we were not told this and unexpectedly ended up paying 175 euros for a moped for the week- the car/bike hire companies know how much you really need one and sting you terribly on price for them!
Unless you are the sort olf person that likes to eat a Sunday Lunch on the beach (how sad), enjoy drinking copious amounts of beer (British beer is advertised everywhere) and sports (plasma screens and sports bars galore). Dont bother going.
The hotel on the plus side was VERY clean and good value for money but is more suited to the older generation, probably good if you are on a budget and at most for a week- definately not two!
It is such a shame a place as beautiful as Cyprus has been turned into such an English, commercial and chavvy place. I certainly would not go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
I wish I had known this before I went, I would have saved myself over £1500 as I had to pay 400 euros to fly back early!!!!
As for First Choice, I had never booked through a travel agent before- and thanks to them, never will again. They completely mislead and misold my holiday- I was told alot different to what I ended up with, very bad service.
