Before we went on holiday I was reading reviews on websites like this and was really worried!
But we stayed here for a week in June 2010 and cannot complain at all. The room was clean and tidy with two single beds, a large wardrobe and also drawers for storage. The kitchen area was small but we didn't mind that as we went out for meals. The bathroom was a decent size and had a shower, sink and toilet. Rooms got cleaned and sheets and towels were changed everyday.
The staff were absolutely lovely, really friendly and would do anything for you, the food they made us was really good and not too expensive. The bar stayed open until the last people who were drinking had gone but wasn't too noisy for the people who were in their rooms.
Its not the Ritz....but well worth the £200 each we paid. We really enjoyed it and will definately go back to the apartments again....we had a fab time!! :-)

i booked for 3 weeks in timetheos appartments, argassi leavinf on 30th july 2009. The toilet was black with scum i payed for an appartment for up to 3, there was barely enough room for 2 and that was cramped.Everything was so dirrty it was sticky, yuk. Then the rep and owner who just wanted money, money, came and told me that my bed linen had come back from the laundery and was stained and she said she couldn't use it again, so she wanted 100 euros, i told her she had a problem with the laundery and asked how she knew it was my laundery anyway, she said she did and that she would call the police if i didn't pay i told her to go ahead. i had mosquito bites which did bleed so there may have been blood on the bedding, but there was no air conditioning so had to have doors open and anyway this would have washed out with a biological powder, certainly not 100 euros, she let it go, but ruinied my holiday, never, never again, don't go there , rep was not on my side either

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Timotheos Studios a few weeks ago and it was the most horrendous accommodation I have ever stayed in!
The walls in the apartment were covered in moulding plaster and the mould was constantly flaking off the walls. We even experienced it flaking off onto us while we were sleeping. The room stank of damp. My boyfriend wretched when he opened the wardrobe for the first time because the smell was so awful. We had exposed wires in our bathroom coming from a light, which could easily have electricuted someone in particular when there was no shower curtain. We were charged to have a fan for the week which was covered in dirt and dust. We had rat droppings on our balcony and another guest staying there at the same time had found rat droppings in the sink and all in the apartment. The owner had a number of chickens (which she is not supposed to have), which is what attracted the rats. We were rudely awoken by the cockrel's call at 4am every morning. When anyone raised these issues with the owner she would simply scream and shout at you.
It took us half of our holiday to get Thomas Cook to do anything about this awful accommodation. When our rep finally saw the state of the room she immediately had it condemned until a thorough health and safety check had been completed and moved us to a different hotel.
Although I would not recommend the Timotheos Studios to anyone, Argassi was a nice area to stay in. There are a wide range of restaurants and bars aswell as places that organise day trips. We thought Argassi beach was very disappointing but most of the others on the island are lovely; we just travelled abit further to go to the beach, Kalamaki beach was a particular favourite of ours.

I agree with previous omments made by earlier holiday makers who went out this year. We had a great time the apt was clean and beds made 6 days a week. People very friendly bar and pool was great. If you do go here try out remmezzo place for great sunbeds near the sea and execellent bar snacks and very friendly staff who just want to make your holiday feel the best ever. To find this plae you need to go down a small road oppisite the three brothers resturant.
The resturants we went to were very good, i could recommend the peppermint, casterways, ethnic, papillon and the stars resturant at the base of the apts. We would go back and i hope if you do go there i believe you will have a great holiday.

Just stayed here for 2 weeks and after reading some of the bad reviews we were worried about staying here but we had a great time. The rooms are very basic but we had everything we needed. If you plan to cook it would be hard with only 2 rings to cook with but there are so many cheap good quality places to eat you dont have to cook! Complaints about the owners dogs barking is trumped because there are dogs everywhere and they do bark but being a dog owner myself this didnt bother me! They do have chickens which can get out of the fencing and can be loud but this didnt bother me either! The rooms were cleaned everyday and the sheets and towels were changed 3 times but you could have new towels if you asked for them. Complaints about the sheets being stained with blood and other things is a bit over the top. One of my sheets had a small rip and another had pink ink in the corner from a felt pen but that was it. The pool bar, which faces the apartments, can be loud until as late as 4 in the morning which was annoying but it was not every night.
All the people there were really friendly and the rep was great!
The area is great with really nice people however some can be pushy about getting you to buy things or getting you into their restaurant. Snack academy was great! Awsome pancakes! and Avalon, Kiss bar and Jungle bar were great places for a yummy cocktail!
The beach is really small but not overly crowded at this time and the sea is shallow a long way out which makes it great for kids.
This place is in a great location and a fantastic resort and i would definately come back here again.

Just had 2 weeks here on a self catering basis. Rooms are basic as are all in Greece but adequate. Pool bar is excellent. There have been reports of owners noisy dogs well there are lots of noisy dogs around but hard to say if they belong to the owner, what she does have is a lot of chickens and the cockerell does a mean early call from 3am !!!! The worst thing is a noisy bar just down the road but within hearing distance and a very noisy road close by ( boy racers all night ). There is a good friendly supermarket close by selling all you need, and lots of good eating places within 10 mins walk. Stars Restaurant, Ethnic and 3 brothers all excellent. We have rarely met so many friendly local people and the guests too were all very nice. This is a good base to tour the island, enjoy your stay.

I went on this holiday with my 7yr old daughter. The rooms were clean and I had a great view from my room. The pool area was well set ot with sunbeds and a great pool bar which was open from 9am to 1am selling great snack food till 6pm and drinks all day. As for the staff and owners being un friendly they were great with me and my daughter, nothing was to much trouble for them. I enjoyed my time there so much that I was going to stop for another week, I asked the owner Anistacea about this and she went out of her way to try and make a room avalible for me if I stopped. It was not be but I came back 2 months later for 10 days and it was still the friendly place I left. The owner and staff all remembered me and gave me a big welcome back. Best holiday ever and I will be going back in 2009....

after having vacationed in greece for a good number of years and trying a variety of islands we have come to realise that basic is exactly that and have always considered as long as you have a bed, toilet and shower....who cares? This apart there is noway in the stretch of imagination that these apartments can be considered s/c...The shutters on the outside of the doors are awful and it is not made clear how they work or the care needed in opening them...The instructions can be found in any place...ontop of the security safe in the wardrobe!!!! along with the 30 euro charge for breaking them...rooms are charged at 35 euro if you have a awkward flight and require to retain your room,,,and that is if the owner can be bothered...In all our experiences this was run by the most uninterested people ever...As for other reviews that nothing is any trouble this was certainly not the experience we had!!! Situation wise couldn't of been better it was the owners that ruined it for us, so we just kept away from them....

The Timotheos studios are situated in a good location close to the beach, supermarkets and restaurants. We were on the first floor and had pleasant views of the sea and Zante Town.
Cosmos rate the studios as three diamonds in their brochure, however in our opinion they should be rated at less than a two star. The cooking facilities consisted of two electric rings, but should you have wanted to use them you would have had to buy your own kitchen utensils or use knives and forks. The one frying pan and saucepan looked like they’d seen better days as had the towels and sheets which were off white and marked with what looked like dried blood and other brown stains!! You will not need to take alarm clocks as the owners hunting dogs will keep you awake, sometimes from about two in the morning with their incessant barking. Complaints to the rep and the owners fell on deaf ears. Cosmos state in their brochure that air-conditioning is available. This is an error, which is supposed to be being corrected in the new brochure. Ask first what their charges are when you’re offered a safe-deposit box as in our opinion the owners are trying to make as much as they can out of you. If you want to ‘hang-on’ to your room owing to a late flight it averages out at five euros per hour.
Fortunately we had a fantastic week weather-wise so we spent little time in and around the studios. The swimming pool looked clean and inviting and sun-beds were free but we didn’t use these facilities due to the dog problem in the adjacent area. Instead we used Domitrio’s on the seafront, which offered free sun beds, good music, excellent food and friendly staff. The Hotel Castello snack bar was also in a good seafront position and had a varied snack menu. Jet ski’s, pedalo’s doughnuts etc. could also be hired from this point.
We ate out every night trying different restaurants. The ones we would recommend are Peppermint, Castaways and Carrismo’s. All the food we ate at these restaurants was excellent value and service was good. Peppermint in particular grows its own vegetables and herbs and its location makes it a nice romantic evening out. (Wish we’d found it sooner)! The Pork Steak was wonderful and the Grand Marnier Crepe with orange was heavenly!
One to avoid…Afrodite…unless you like frozen vegetables. Our meals here were pretty grim and the service was not much better.
The guy who runs 24/7 deserves a medal. Snacks, pancakes, kebabs, tea, coffee and beer whatever you want. Always pleasant and efficient, no matter what time of day. Listen out for him clapping to get your attention!
We would definitely go back to Zante. Argassi felt friendly and safe. Shame about the beach but others resorts have better. Would probably hire a car and do a bit more exploring next time. With different accommodation this would have been a perfect holiday. We’ve done ‘basic’ before but the Timotheos we felt was less than this.

When arriving at the Timotheos Apartments, the staff where extremely laid back, in fact it took 20minutes to sort out 3 family room keys and when the heat is 39 degrees, there's nothing better you want to do other than drop everything and jump in the pool. However the owners where really nice, but if you have any problems then the best thing to do would be to wait until the rep comes, or to wait until Kris the bar tender arrives in the afternoon as the owner speak very little english.
The rooms where small which didn't bother us as we weren't in the room a lot, however the only air con you get is a fan which doesn't help much, plus the water didn't usually work around 6pm and the electrics dimmed as at this time that's when everyone in the hotels using them to get ready for the night life. By the way if your going out on a night and don't like little creatures then make sure you turn the outside lights off on the balcony because I guarantee there will be lizards on the walls.
The pool was lovely and did just the job for the heat that we had in August which was HOT, however the steps in the pool area at the deep end, be careful as the top and bottom steps are broken and they hadn't been fixed for some time.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed Argassi, its great for couples, and we visited may of the other places, such as Laganas and Zante town or Zaykonthos as they call it. Laganas, isn't really a family place to be on a night as heard from holiday makers when we visited Laganas, however for shopping its brilliant and the sea is clear, however in Kalamaki and Lanagnas, certain parts of the beach are closed around May to September as its nesting season for the Turtles. Zante town is beautiful with the A class style boats and ships in the harbour but there's hardly any shops around this town, mostly bars and restaurants. However if your going around the 24th August (my birthday) there a huge celebration for the Saint Dennis who is paraded though the streets of Zante town, mummified in a glass box. Greeks believed that he would create miracles and when the celebration takes place all the ships in the harbour sound there horns and there's a firework display at night too.
Argassi is around a 20-30 min walk from Zante town however there are bus and taxi services that can get you there, but the bus service is very unreliable and can change route at any time they feel. Buses getting into Zante were every 30 minutes but coming back into Argassi the bus drivers expect you to be able to read their writing of the destination on the bus. So coming back from Zante town we got a taxi which cost us 4 euros and if by bus costs you 1.25 euros.
Argassi has great restaurants like the Ethnic, especially if you a rib lover, as I experienced for 7 euro I had a plate piled high of 10 massive BBQ ribs, or the Pivillion which has lovely stone bake pizzas. If eating out be prepared to wait a little as the Greeks are seriously laid back (but in a good way).
For night life, Argassi is still a lively place but not as lively as Laganas, however if you wanna good dance and you like all kinds of music then the place to be is The Factory, which we spend may of our nights in there with the laughable bar tenders Bauldy and Tall. They have different events every night such as, ladies nights, karaoke, foam partys e.t.c and they constantly giving out free shots, and free drinks from the manager. At around 12pm the back room opens up where they play up to date music and the bar staff show off there tricks like fire blowing.
For entertainment, there's 2 Mini golfs, Molly Malones and The world tour, which we both tried out and enjoyed, shopping, laying by the beach, water sports and also the boat trips which I recommend anyone to go on. We experienced a whole day of it, where we sailed around the island looking at the blue caves, dropping off at smuggles bay (photo opportunity, great sea crystal blue but pebble beach take sandals), we had opportunities to cool off by jumping off the boat, turtle sighting, and its a great day for getting a Tan.
Overall the hotel was great, room could have been better but ok if your not going to be in them for long, the place excellent couldn't have picked a better place to spend this summer in the sun.
