This is one of the best hotels on the island - the building itself is definitely 5 star - we were at the beach or by the pool by 10 most days & I only noticed a few when there were no more beds on the beach after 10,30 . Everything is immaculately kept - the grounds men and cleaners keep the hotel and rooms in 5 star conditions - no complaints there . I must say though that the service is not that of a 5 star hotel, I have had better in 4 stars. but this is due to the management, not the staff - everyone tries there hardest to please you .
One thing with 5 star hotels, apposed to 4 star ,is the evenings bars are low key .The evening bar in this hotel is a lounger - no bar stalls, no music ...often felt like everyone was just sitting around, waiting for a bus!!
The disco does open at 11 though , but it is quite a dull wait ,if you don’t like cabaret!
I have told you all the bad points I could about this hotel - We did have a lovely holiday . We would visit Dom Rep. again but not in May - we had 40% rain .
