There was a good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The cleaners were very good and the standard did not drop as the week went on. There was a good choice on the menu if you were half board and had to pay for your lunch. Evening meals were good to, they severed a range of food from Tunisian to the great English chips. during the day time you could go to the beach which was half a kilometre away and was a good stroll. The pools were very clean and you could always sea a life guard. for the children there is a great range of activities for the kids during the day. Chocolate, Scooby, Charlie and Rosie were great at providing entertainment during the day and put fantastic evening performances. Hammamet gardens is a great place to go no matter what age group you are.

Well, I was wary about going to this hotel as I’d seen a few bad reviews. Nevertheless, I though the Hammamet Gardens was great. No, the food wasn’t five star, No the sheets weren’t your best Egyptian cotton and no the gym wasn’t David Lloyd, but to be honest I had a great time.

The exceedingly poor Med Hotels.com transferred us to this hotel after being dumped on the streets by them after they overbooked our booked 5 star accommodation. Frightened with no local money we had no choice but to go to this hotel.
The hotel has limited facilities and the food was VERY repetitive. In fact each days leftovers seemed to reappear the following meal. Exactly the same food was served for breakfast lunch and dinners including the uncooked and cooked pork meat produce. Food was always uncovered (no lids anywhere) and so the flies could get at it and food was lukewarm and undercooked. Virtually everyone I spoke to at the resort including myself and my partner suffered stomach upsets.
Rooms were basic but functional but were clean and serviced daily. Linen was soiled/ torn and not good quality at all. Staff were friendly (sometimes a bit over friendly) and as a young blonde I was targeted both by staff at the hotel and other locals whether alone or with men. Other young women at the hotel had the same treatment. I was often ignored or pushed out the way when trying to be served or at reception in favour of Men and / or guests who weren’t all inclusive. Although bribery of the waiting /bar staff virtually guarantees good service as I discovered!
Outdoor pools were ok, although the lifeguard only turned up 1/2 hour after the pool opened and toured the two pools so was often not in attendance at any given time. Indoor pool was locked every time I attempted to use it.
Gym- this was disgusting and dangerous- completely unusable.
Activities- OK if you enjoy the six-language lotto every night. Activates such as table tennis were only available at limited times. Kids seemed to have a fun time though but every time I saw the Animation team from the hotel they were trying to chat up young British ladies.
Snacks- Asked for these at the Main bar (where they were supposed to be at that time) none available. Pizza was available for 1 hour a night twice a week.
Drinks were ok, but in tiny glasses service was done by friendly staff who tried their best but lots of guest and limited pumps/staff! Bizarre that non-alcoholic drinks branded drinks- (Coca Cola, Fanta and Schweppes lemonade) were available on all inclusive, but Diet drinks were charged- not available on the all-inclusive. One person at the resort was Diabetic and ran up a hefty bar bill!
Staff were seen filling up the "bottled water" from a tap and then handing this out to guests, also the all inclusive cocktails were virtually never available - always "ran out".
In the hotel lobby /restaurant areas you were constantly harassed to buy photos / flowers /photographer taking photos of you actually as you eat your meals/ buy trips/ excursions - these are not stalls these are people coming up to you and pestering you, which seems to be the Tunisian way (which can be a bit disconcerting to people used to British reserve!)
Overall this is an Average hotel - Poor Food, Average service, Average Facilities

The hotel was fine, nice setting, nice staff, boring repetitive food and small free drinks. At times I felt like a second class citizen to those paying customers who sat sipping their ice cold cokes whilst we had to do with a thimble full of warm flat coke.
The accommodation was not lavish but simple and clean. The staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily, the waiters were all excellent as were the bar staff.
The downsides were the food which after a few days became increasingly bland and boring to the point where we wanted to eat out, the thought of eating there made my girlfriend feel nauseous on the final day. The free alcohol/drinks were nothing special, they were also all served in very small measures, and however we started ordering more each time.
Other than the food the only other negative thing I could mention was the entertainment - the one evening we watched this the highlight was the bingo!! This was done in six languages and was tedious to say the least, it was like the Eurovision song contest but a hundred times worse. This was then followed by the ‘Animatcion comedy sketches’ - this was like watching Benny Hill without any form of humour in it at all. They proceeded to imply that all English were homosexuals - to the delight of the German guests. The comedy then descended into some surreal sketch, in the end when one of the men started to strum the others crotch mimicking a guitar. At this point we decided to leave the entertainment in favour of the bar.
I’d go to the hotel again, the weather was excellent. However I wouldn’t want to eat ever again in the hotel (as we drove away I got more relaxed with each mile put between me and that restaurant). Likewise, if you’re the sort of person who relies on provided evening entertainment then I’d make other plans. However, if this isn’t your scene you’ll have a great time just ask for two drinks instead of one!

Despite all the bad reviews, I enjoyed this holiday greatly. We arrived at the hotel in the early hours and were dealt with immediately. Our luggage was taken to our rooms for us and the reception staff signed us in quickly.
Our first impressions of the hotel room were positive and remained this way throughout. I am a vegetarian and found that I had no problem with food as I had much choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. However a warning to females - do not be too friendly towards the Tunisian men as they easily think you are flirting. Secondly I would warn you not to go into dodgy looking shops like my family have a habit of doing as my brother and my dad were locked in a shoe shop by the owner and forced to buy a pair of sandals but we just laughed it off.
Its just their way as the shop assistants are very pushy and you will need to haggle but you get used to it. This sounds much worse than it is though as they were just petty things. I would definitely recommend Hammamet gardens and I cannot see where people had so many things to complain about unless they were looking for faults. Generally the country is not as developed as ours so you cannot expect it to be perfect. Keep an open mind!

After a rather poor start to our holiday due to a 'lost' booking, we were transferred to this hotel.
The staff were polite and welcoming and always ready to help if you needed. It was nice that they were fluent in English. the hotel was very well decorated throughout with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The All-Inclusive programme was fantastic and some kind of refreshment could be obtained from 6 am till 3 am the following day. All food was to an extremely high standard and catering for most tastes, only I did find it became a little repetitive towards the end of the week, I put that down to personal taste though.
The 'animation' team were all lovely and were fantastic with the kids. There always seemed to be some kind of activity going on and the children were always entertained.
The pool areas were very clean and also patrolled by a fairly friendly lifeguard.
Overall my stay at the Hammamet Garden was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it to English guests and also those with families. I will be sure to go back!

Went for one week break with my friend in June 2004. Thought the hotel was lovely. The reception was nice, as was the rest of the hotel. Found the staff to be pleasant, got to know Twiss the barman well. Pool was a good size and clean with aqua aerobics and pool games everyday.
The rooms were cleaned well, although our room was at the front of the hotel and it was noisy if you had your balcony door open, due to there being a club across the road from the hotel.
The food in the restaurant wasn’t really to my taste. Have to say there were quite a few guests with upset stomachs on the flight home who had stayed in our hotel.
Weather was gorgeous while we where there, high 90s everyday. It is a 10 minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach, you have to go down a path to get there or you can use the horse and carriage that the hotel provide.
Worth visiting yasmine hammamet harbour, plenty of nice bars & restaurants. New medina was nice as well. Felt a bit intimidated in Nabuel market and so hot!
Did get hassled a bit by the local men whilst out. Just need to tell them where to get off or ignore them.
Went back in September 2004, had a great time.

This hotel does not warrant its 4 star rating. After a long evening transfer I navigated four floors with my suitcase to reach my room. Although there was a receptionist on duty he failed to point out the lift! The bellboy helped everyone as best he could. [Only one on duty]
The shop sold me bath oil for 3 dinars, which turned out to be water! [Good job I did not give it as a gift!]
On telling the male receptionist about the almost unbearable 'hassle' in Hammamet from local men, he commented "Well, women alone" and walked away. [not the sort of comment a guest expects.]
The 'animation' or entertainment staff were young men who seemed to have little concept of what is expected of well travelled '4 star' guests. The only time I ventured to the evening entertainment one sidled over to me and said "give me a kiss" [smiling] and then repeated it. When a polite refusal followed, he added "who are you texting on your mobile phone? your boyfriend?" Some what inappropriate for myself a 41 year old married to a Muslim.
The receptionist took at £10 'deposit' for a trip that never materialised and then appeared to have the day off.
My Gucci sunglasses unfortunately disappeared from the hotel [by this time I was figuring the worse] and my return transfer to the airport failed to show, instead of offering help I phoned myself [England] the rep on my mobile.
The staff however did organise a birthday cake for me after they discovered my date of birth, and the dining room staff were pleasant and polite but hardly trained to 4* standards.
A hassled and 'tacky' destination made worse by a worse than anticipated hotel. There seems to be a growing 'sex industry' in Hammamet [i.e. older/younger foreign ladies with loose morals and ditto the men] and the hotel and resort locals seem resigned to the fact every single traveller MUST have come for that. Oh dear!!!!

I read lots of reviews on this hotel AFTER I had booked it and thought surely it cant be that bad, but it was worse...
Myself, husband and 4 children arrived at the hotel at 3.30 am after our transfer took 3 hrs and the staff wouldn’t give the children anything to drink as the bar was closed.
There is only 1 bar that sells alcohol/coffees for which we was made to wait till the half board had been served.
The pool bar would not serve the children/adults drinks if you was wet or in wet clothing so you had to get dressed.
The beer was served in plastic coke cups if you was AI and served from a different pump then half board, if you asked for a glass they said you had to pay.
The bar snacks was hardly available and was not on display.
The food in the restaurant was never hot and the choice was very minimal..
After several complaints to med hotels rep about how rude the staff was and the way AI are treated he said fill out a complaint form when you get home.
The best thing on this holiday apart from coming home was the children’s clubs!! well done to them all as they do a brilliant job!!
If you go h/b you are treated well and even get fresh flowers on your bed every day, but AI forget it!!
