Valais

Just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel (June 8 - 15). We love it. Firstly the people. Regulars (who seem to be the majority of guests) will know it is run by the Valais family (Mother Georgia, George, & Katerina). They have help from Roxy and also a number of seasonal staff from various countries (this year Sonia behind the bar and Michael in the kitchen). We have been going to the Valais Hotel each year for the last four years and we have just booked to go again in June. The location is perfect, the rooms clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Roxy is an absolute delight, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Continential style breakfast with a good Pool Bar Menu for snacks during the day or a substantial evening meal. What ever you choose will be first class. I have been comimg to this hotel twice a year since May 2002 and have no reason not to go back again in May & September in 2006. I book directly with them and always receive a prompt reply with my confirmation of booking. The hotel is run by the family and have always found them helpful and friendly. My boyfriend Shane and I just returned from the Holiday of our dreams, when we were dropped off outside Valais Hotel, all we could see is white sand and blue water (exactly what we were looking for), This Gorgeous Beach just at our doorstep. . . We are just about to book our fifth consecutive trip to the Hotel Valais and our friends who came with us two years ago are coming along too. It's a place that will always feature on our yearly family holidays and why? My friends and I have been to the Hotel Valais for 9 years now. We cannot fault the place, we are going back this year in June and will continue to do so. The rooms are clean with balcony's, the breakfast is good and plentiful. The staff are absolutely brilliant and we now look upon them as our friends. We have found The Valais over 18 years of visiting to be a first class hotel. It is true that over the years the resort of Alykanas has become busier and that new hotels have been built.However the Valais has remained true to the spirit of the resort and has retained its Greek tradition. The family who run the hotel are warm, friendly people who welcome you to a home as well as a hotel. I enjoyed my stay at the valais hotel, the staff were friendly, the hotel was airy,well presented, and clean. my room was basic but comfortable. the swimming pool was yards from the hotel, snack bar and the beach. I celebrated my birthday during my stay it was very good. the food is nice and there is a waiter service on the beach. internet access is avaliable and i will be making another trip there soon and i recommened it to all ages it was a very enjoyable trip.

Have stayed in this hotel several years ago,how sad to go back and see its decline,rooms old and tatty,had to ask after four days for clean towels and sheets. Needs serious money spending on it as it could be a lovely place to stay again. People will not return here if they can stay at the newer hotels further along the beach for nearly half the money,it costs to stay at the valais. We spent two weeks at the Valais. The hotel is right by the beach so the location could not be better. The beach itself is beautiful, although it has deteriorated since 2002. Due to the construction of the new hotels (Alykanas Village hotel etc), more people have been using the beach, and this year (2005) there was a lot of litter on the beach and in the shallow water.
