We have just returned home from our holiday and can honestly say that this place is just fantastic, Peter the barman IS a really lovely chap he simply likes to run the poolside bar firmly but fairly making it safe for everyone and his wife is lovely by the way , we never heard him moan at all!!!!
The rooms are spotless and Maria the owner is a really lovely lady who cannot do enough to make you comfortable, I must add that this is our third visit to Stoupa and second visit to Georges, we will certainly be returning in the future.

We went to stoupa in may and fell in love with the place. georges is basic but clean and a very friendly atmosphere.
The only thing i found i disliked was the guy who run the poolside bar pete. he moans all the time about his hours been cut etc, his wife calls round every lunchtime and joins in the moan session. his bar is very basic, only opening for a few hours, its a shame as the rest of the staff are excellant.

I am 17 years old and i can tell you, for a family holiday, Stoupa, and not to mention Georges has everything you could possibly need or want.
The rooms are spacious, airy and very well presented. We stayed for 14 days and our rooms were cleaned at least 4 times throughout the stay. There is a fridge, a hob, a balcony, and sofa's etc to make your stay as comfortable as possible. And yes you do have to buy the air conditioning for 6 euros a night.
I'll let you in on a secret. If you are part of a large group, sharing several separate apartments, you only need to purchase or 'rent' one air conditioning remote control, and it will work on all of the units, so you can have air conditioning in 3 rooms with only one remote. Yes there is a hassle involved in sharing one remote, but over a 14 day stay, the savings you make can be spent elsewhere.
The pool atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is/was personable, the holiday-goers and the staff. Pete the bar man is lovely. He is knowledgeable, comical and safety conscious. Some may say to excess, but in a pool area which is very busy at peak times, you can't have children running around the pool. No glass is aloud around the pool either, which i believe is very advisable and i applaud Pete for upholding his rules so efficiently (if you stay at Georges, you will be introduced to the red/yellow card system).
The only way i wouldn't recommend Georges is if you are looking for traditional Greek accommodation. Pete plays British music and the bar food is basically a cheese toasty with the option of nando's peri peri sauce.
There are plenty of Tavernas and restaurants on the sea front which is a two-minute walk away from the appartments. There is also a supermarket which sells basically everything on the sea front aswell, so buying cereals or essential toiletries is no hassle.
I am returning this summer (2010) with my family and friends for another two week stay, and i will definatley be returning to Georges in the far future.
Hope this review was of some help.

Not first visit to Stoupa but was first visit to Georges in Sept 2009. My husband and I were not dissapointed. Apartments basic but spotlessly clean and pool area looked after extremely well by 'Pete'who also runs the bar. We have already booked to return in Sept 2010 and are looking forward to another relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the Mani.

Great apartments. Very spacious and good facilities. Very quiet and could always get in the swimming pool when we wanted to. Stoupa is a great place for a beach holiday. Sea is warm and calm and we loved swimming out to see and feed the fish. There is a wide variety of tavernas providing a good range of Greek food. We would recommend Enigma with its cocktail bars - specially the happy hour range! We also enjoyed Angelika's and Yesterday and Tomorrow for their excellent food. The local supermarket on the sea front provides a wide range of products. For car hire use AB Cars on the seafront. They are the cheapest rates and run by a British family. We had a great day out visiting the Dilos Caves.
Sunsets are amazing.
Would definitely go again. Ideal for families and couples wanting a relaxing beach holiday!

hi have just returned from a week in stoupa. This was both mine and my wifes first visit to greece. Stoupa is a fantastic place with breath taking views of both the little bay and moutains. Although I would agree with some of the comments about the studios being basic I would point out that they are spotless and the views and position of them more than make up for any short falls. One thing we did not factor in was the 6 euros a night for that air conditioning.
We do not often return to a place but I would break that and will be returning to stoupa. The last thing to add is the pool and yellow or red cards if you are used to magaluf with fighting screaming and running round kids then don't go to stoupa. We never saw any red, yellow or any other card peter is a genuine nice guy who cares about everyone having a good safe holiday

Although i would prefer that everyone read and believed the negative comments registered here, so that Georges can be avoided and left to those who love it, i have to defend the wonderful Peter!!Hard working and dedicated to the safety of his customers, pleasant, cheerful and all in all a good laugh. For those looking to race around a pool, frantically dive in and disturb the peace and quiet for other holiday makers it may be better to stay eleswhere!Georges will never be short of returning customers.

My partner and I stayed at Georges for two weeks in early September and had a great time. The apartment was clean, large and spacious - the only fault being a single ill fitting door between our kitchen and the next apartments bedroom (sorry Bob!!!). The hotel itself is very well positioned being just an easy five minutes stroll from the beach and shops including for those of you catering for yourselves a comprehensively stocked, resonably priced supermarket. Not being a "Pool Person" I personally cannot comment about the Red Card system but for the few times we did use the facility I can only comment on the hotel staff who were always polite and friendly in trying to ensure that the facilities were enjoyed by all the guests. The only improvement that I would like to see before our return (yes, I would go back) would be fly screens on the windows and doors to exclude any unwanted guests. And as a final foonote for those who travel light, for the little luxuries in life try Stoupa Rentals for Fans, Bikes, Phone Chargers, Kettles,Toasters etc, a friendly well recomended service.

I worked for Manos Holidays last summer and this was the main property I looked after. It's beautifully kept, lovely and modern, close to the beach, has amazingly helpful staff and a great on-site bar (something that very few apartments in this resort have).
The poolside area is well looked after and the pool bar attendant is constantly watching out for the safety of everyone. Rooms are simply furnished and have limited facilities, but they make up for it with their spaciousness.
The rooms at the back of the newest block have gorgeous views of the mountains.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation to families and couples, but would suggest that more mature people looking for peace and quiet choose their holiday dates carefully - during the summer holidays and half term, the general volume around the pool and bar areas is quite loud!

Just returned from a two week stay at georges estate villas in stoupa with my fiancee and have had the best two weeks holiday we have ever had, on arrival we were stunned at how big and roomy our room actually was and with a huge balcony, the cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional and the well maintained and the staff were always polite, Peter the Barman is an amazing man with exceptional knowledge of the area and anything and everything you could find to discuss over a pint or two at the pool bar, he is always helpful and friendly and kind to everybody and he made our holiday by helping us plan a day trip to some lovely little villages that we would never had seen without him. his wife was also very lovely and we never heard him moan once, the resort itself is faultless, perfect holiday, perfect holiday and really didnt want to come back home. we will certainly be returning and have receommneded this place to anyone who will listen! 10/10 !
