Submitted By: JoLOur room was very spacious and again extremely clean, excellent air conditioning and the bed was sooo comfy I wanted to bring it home with me. The room was cleaned every day which was really nice to come back to.
In terms of the food I was really impressed, having stayed at 4 star hotels before this was great. Lots of choice and I disagree with the comments about the hot food, everything I had was always cooked fully and warm. For breakfast you can have anything from croissants, toast to omlettes cooked fresh to bacon, eggs, sausage and even fruit and yoghurt.....chips if you really fancy them too:-) The same was said for the evening food again lots of choice and very tasty, agree lots of fish but thats common when your abroad.
I would really recommend this hotel and we will be going back for another visit!
Advice: Beautiful place, very relaxing and laid back atmosphere.
Activities: Favourite restaurant was Cafe de Baleaur in Cala Bosch

" Disappointing holiday "
Submitted By: gwynethFirstly though I had specifically asked if I could book a poolside room and Thomson assured me this was O.K. on arrival I was told no poolside rooms were available and we spent the first night in a room on the main road, constant traffic all the time even through the night. Next day we were moved to another room which was opposite the Irish pub and although I expressed my reseverations to the rep she assured me it closed at 11 pm. This was not the case, sometimes the loud music went on to 2 am. So really we were not able to sleep well the whole week we were there.
Secondly we found the restaurant and food quality and variety very poor. The food was never hot, just lukewarm, on occasion not cooked properly.
We have stayed in lots of 4star hotels so we have many to compare against, and quite honestly this cannot compare at all with any of them.
The best things about this hotel were the friendly staff, and the pool area and terrace seating. This was very attractively laid out though it was very difficult to find a free sunbed if you didn't get there first thing in the morning.
I think this is more 3 star than 4 star.
Don;t stay in this hotel if you want to sleep well or can sleep through a lot of noise.
Don;t stay in this hotel if you look forward to enjoying hot and delicious food.
Advice: Plenty of cafes around the marina and a nice beach
Activities: Tapas bar by marina and the cafe on the beach.
Good for: Beach
" A fabulous and comfortable holiday "
Submitted By: benelWe had been to Calan Bosch before self catering and loved it then but this Hotel was far better. Do not take any notice of any remarks about the food(some people are very hard to please)they should remember they are in a foreign country, if you want food as good as english then holiday in England. The only complaint I could have, it wasn't as hot as I would have liked but that did not spoil it for me, there was always something even for a 'fussy eater'like me. As well as the usual foods including chef's cooking while you wait there were lots of cakes, pastries, breads at each sitting along with 'crush your own oranges' for breakfast juice and georgeous ice cream and other deserts at dinner.
The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in on holiday and the rooms were lovly.
The pool area is large and very beautiful with far superior sun beds. Overlooking the pool area is a seating area with very comfortable setee's and chairs available during day and night, much more comfy than the usual'plastic pool chair'
This holiday is probably more for people who want a quite, relaxing time, I would think teenages and or younger children may get a bit bored. Apart from 1 or 2, most of the entertainment at the various bars around the Marina stopped at around midnight although you could still get a drink.
We were in a room which overlookeed the Marina we could sit and watch the activity of an evening or watch the entertainment at the hotel(situated at the pool area)the acts were'proper'acts brought in such as singers, dancers, balancing acts, tribute groups, majician etc it was far better than the usual type of entertainment provided by the staff, Bless them!!
Yes we are certainly looking forward to going back to the Valentin Star and whats more it's only a couple of hours away.

Submitted By: Mrs L DaviesThe beach is situated close by just off the Marina, which was nice white sand etc. although on our last day we couldn't go into the sea due to an infestation of Jellyfish.
I would highly recommend the hotel and the pool area is beautiful, if you are looking for relaxation (which we did get) and don't mind repetative singers this is the place for you. It is a shame that there isn't a little more there as it is a very pretty, clean island.
A recommended thing to do is get the bus costing 3.50 Euro per couple up to the town of Ciudadella (said Thudadella) it is a very large town with cobbled streets, shops and a large harbour. The bus drops you straight in the centre square and takes about 15 mins to get there. You get the bus back at the same place, every 15 mins upto 2.30 every 30 mins thereafter.
Although I have a couple of issues, we did enjoy our holiday and it is a lovely place, just not quite enough for us entertainment wise.

Submitted By: Mr J BARNSTONDo not listen to the other reviews where people are making negative comments about the hotel. I have stopped in 5* hotels and this is much better than them.
The nightlife is very good, there are no nightclubs just bars and restaraunts, which is perfect.
I only came back yesterday but I am already ringing tour operators to book again. I really didnt want to come home and could have easily lived at that hotel for the rest of my life it was superb.

Submitted By: Miss R HorsfieldIm not going to list everything we had for evening meal but it was something different every night, again there is something for everyone and we really enjoyed it! Please dont let the other comments put you off, we are planning to go next year with my family.
As for cala n bosch the place is lovely and relaxed, the beach was nice and not really too over crowded.
It is worth taking a trip to Ceutidella which takes about 25 mins on the airconditioned buses which dont get over crowded like the buses in Greece! and also to the capital Mahon which is a nice place especially if you like shopping!
The hotel pool is excellent no matter what time we went we always got a lounger.
If you want a meal out go to toro nego steak house its quite expensive but the steak is excellent!
Also Bar Med do donna kababs which are GEORGEOUS not greasy like ours at home!
The best sangria is served at the Kola Bar across from the hotel, they had only been open 2 weeks when we got there so definalty go and have a drink!!
I would rate the hotel as 10/10 so please listen dont be put off by the other comments.
We went with first choice and the rep was brilliant.

What a great place, from the welcome to the departure!
The weather and resort were beautiful. The hotel is pure class- relaxation with the feeling of being pampered. The food - very tasty, especially when the catering team were providing for a host of cultures! The catering team were professional, friendly and could not do enough for us!
The housekeeping service was first class! Again, could not do enough for us! One thing to think about is to take a travel kettle if you like to have a cup of tea/coffee in your room as this is the only thing not provided, however, the tea and coffee served at the pool bar is nice too.
Entertainment good, but the resort itself provides a nice variety- especially the Shamrock Irish Bar, across the road from the entrance to the Valentin Star- A salute to Roberto (best waiter in Menorca!) and Joey "Sexy Eyes" (best performer in Menorca!).
Daytime entertainment was good too- Hands up to Juliane and Noria-Hannah! They got us to do Pilates, Water Aerobics, Water Bingo, Water Polo, etc.Well Done Girls!
Overall, we (myself, hubby and 2 daughters- aged 19 and 15) give this holiday 10/10!!! Will recommend this holiday to those with children, couples, teenagers. Will certainly return!
