" Fabulous "

Recently returned from a week at Paradise Club, and it lives up to the name! First impression of hotel entrance, reception area and staff was first class. We were in a self catering apartment and this was the best s/c accommodation we have stayed in. Apartment had air con, nice bedroom, lovely bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Flat panel tv in the room too! Kids were delighted to discover that you could watch Cbeebies! Lovely pool area in the complex, snack bar right at the pool for lunch, ice lollies etc or a nice cold beer. Paradise Club had their own entertainment team that ran events all day and night for the kids and adults alike and everynight there was a show on in the main bar. We went with Thomas Cook and they also had their own kids club with an air conditioned playhouse. The resort itself was just lovely, relaxing and safe. The staff in hotel, bars and restaurants etc are all very helpful, welcoming and polite. Goody Goody park for the kids is a must visit. We will be going back to Paradise Club in the future.

Advice: You will love this if you are going with kids.

Activities: Piccola Pizeria & Toro Negro Steakhouse.

" Just returned from the Paradise Club... "

Just returned from the Paradise Club in Calan Bosch with my wife & our 3yr old toddler. Thought the hotel was very good but more of a three star plus rather than a four star. The rooms were good although upon arrival we were given a room that had a musty damp smell. We spoke to reception and were given a choice of three other rooms without any question. The accomodation was good but could do with freshening ready for the new season. The pools were very good & clean and the entertainment team (especially Chicco) were brilliant. We would go back again and recommend this hotel to everyone especially if like us it's the first time you're taking children abroad.
Be aware though that although the restaurants are very good, They are expensive and so are the local supermarkets. If this hotel is on your shortlist of possible holidays then I would say Book it. The seafood Paella at El Pato restaurant is a must.

" Just returned from a weeks stay at... "

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Paradise Club, Would recommend this hotel to
all, It was immaculately clean rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. Beds changed 3 times in a week which we thought very good. Pools were all really good plenty of comfortable sunbeds. shops bars restaurants and harbour were a 2 min walk away, with restaurants to suit every taste all at reasonable prices. there were 18 people in our party be were welcomed into most restaurants, Cant recommend highly enough CHAPLINS the staff food and price make this an ideal place for adults and children, Rik and his staff went out of there way to accomodate 18 of us, and we cant thank them enough they went far beyond your call of duty to make us very welcome, so if you want a fun night dont miss chaplins. The animation team worked really hard at hotel and were very friendly never failing to smile and say hello when passing by even though they must have been exhausted as they worked very long hours. We had a wonderful week at this hotel and would like to thank all there for making our holiday so good.

" Just returned today from a week's... "

Just returned today from a week's break. It was recommended by the travel agent as somewhere that was not over developed. Yes it's probably best for families, but it's not a bad place for a couple who just want to go somewhere nice and avoid the the '18-30 pissed every night' crowd.

We went to Mamaris in Turkey in July and Menorca is completely different. It is more expensive and there is less to do, but in terms of scenery, Menorca is much nicer. A great place to chill.

We found the hotel to be really good, deserving of it's 4 stars. I think if your a couple without children, the best time to come is early Sept, when most of the children are back at school. The price for this type of accommodation falls dramatically, as high season has come and gone. The staff were great, the rooms were spacious and yes there were a few ants on the balcony, but they didn't make into the room.

The Marina restaurants are fine, but vary in price. El Pato was reasonable and good quality. Try the hotel restaurant one night, just for the experience of dining in a four star hotel restaurant - at 15 euros it was a steal. The food was good and the ambience was definitely upmarket! The only problem is that if you over eat, you won't be able to much else but walk around the marina afterwards.

Catch the bus into the city from outside the hotel for 1.75 euro and explore. Citiuedella is wonderful place to walk around and some of the shops are superb. Okay, you won't be able to find cheap fake goods like you do in other holiday resorts, but some of the stuff is well made and great value. The only thing to bear in mind is that the Mernorcans tend to be a bit laid back when it comes to tourists. The customer is not king ! They're not particularly bothered if you buy or not!

All in all the holiday was a great experience. Recommended.

" Just stayed at the paradise club... "

Just stayed at the paradise club hotel for 2 weeks. Had a great time. Weather was terrific. Accommodation was great, sheets changed up to 3 times a week and towels changed everyday, except Friday and Saturday because of people coming and going. Rooms are spacious, but not enough room to hang clothes for 3 adults and 1 child. Swimming pool was excellent and very clean, but like other reviews, got to be up early to get a sunbed.

Plenty to do through the day ranging from water polo, rifle shooting, football, all done with Chicco and Valdis. Beach is only 10 minutes walk, but can get very busy. Sea is great for snorkling, plenty of fish by the rocks. Buy your own parasole, can be very expensive to rent sun loungers and parasoles on the beach.

Marina across the road with restaurants all the way around it. We ate out in a few restaurants, our favourite was la fontana which was reasonable priced, and the staff very friendly. Goody Goody is a large games area with pool tables etc which is located at the end of the Marina. Local Transport is very good, went to Mahon harbour and Ciutadella twice. Already booked for next year. Would highly recommend it.

" Stayed at the paradise club first two... "

Stayed at the paradise club first two weeks in august weather fantastic. We had a two bedroomed apartment which had 2 bathrooms great when you have a teenager! Rooms were clean and well maintained,we had a problem on arrival as the air conditioning was not working and the rooms were like an oven.Let reception know and they did mend it but we had to manage for 1 night without it which was a bit of a nightmare,i thought in hindsight they should of offered us the use of fans,we did get an apology and a free meal in the restaurant which was nice. The complex itself is very family friendly and has a lovely atmosphere ALL the staff are very pleasant. The pool area is nice and clean but if you need a sunbed with shade near the baby pool you will need to set you alarm for about 7am as there are not really enough parasols. Our little girl aged 4 loved the thomas cook kids club and went for 2 hours most days we never had a problem getting her in as some previous reviews suggested. We have a ten year old boy and found that the activities organized by the hotel staff [chicco valdis and the girls] was great for him he joined in everyday and made lots of friends the reps work very hard to make the kids feel welcome.Nighttime entertainment was good when they had singers on,we watched robbie, drifters and the temptations my only criticism is that the entertainment room is not very well air conditioned and does get a little uncomfortable. The on-site restaurant is very average and i would say much better to go self catering as there are so many lovely restaurants on the marina just across the road the only place that i would not reccomend was torro negro which is expensive and not that good and you can get much better elsewhere. Our favourites were Il Pato, fiesta tex mex[which has aplay area for the little ones],La Fontana, and especially Gran Dragon chinese restaurant which was excellent. At one end of the marina is goody goody land which has a bar and tables where adults can relax while the kids play this is open until midnight and has bouncy castles, slides and trampolines the kids loved it.There is a waterpark ten minutes walk from the hotel
and if you go after 2.30 you get in for half price. Not the biggest place but an enjoyable afternoon out. There are 2 supermarkets just across the road and a chemist and a tobacconist and also a few nice gift shops.Cala n bosh is very good as it has everything for a great family holiday within walking distance. The beach is 10 minutes walk but does get a little crowded. All in all a very enjoyable holiday so much so that we have booked to stay at the paradise next year as we think that it is hard to beat.

" After an awful start to the holiday... "

After an awful start to the holiday where the door on the aircraft had to be fixed..while we sat on the tarmac for nearly 4 hours..we arrived at the paradise club around 11 at night. These apartments were immaculate, we stayed self catering as we like to eat out. There was no musty smell as described in other reviews so i can only guess that we were in a different block. Yes you do have to be an early bird to get a lounger, some people must set an alarm..how sad! I would go down about 9 and occasionally i would strike lucky. The pool area
was very clean, we had fresh towels every day and clean sheets every 2 to 3 days.

The resort is family orientated but mainly for little ones, my son is 19 and my daughter 11, they were claiming to be bored after the first week. The resort is small and some of it quite tacky. We ate at the Avanti restaurant, the food there was beautiful and that side of the marina with the stalls and paintings was quite atmospheric..but i would advise that 2 weeks is probably to long. If you like to eat out for breakfast or lunch you really must try Leli's, this is a little family run cafe. its very friendly and alot of the local people eat there at lunch time. we were in there nearly every day and they make you feel very welcome. Leli's is near the bridge, just at the back of the goody goody park. You really must take a trip into Cuitadella, its a beautiful place for anyone who likes shopping, sight seeing or just people watching, a very pretty traditional spanish town.

Son Xugiuer(not sure of spelling) is the best beach and is worth the 10 minute walk. We were snorkelling and it was like swimming in a tropical fish tank.. we were feeding these beautiful white fish with a bread roll under the water. the sea is crystal clear. Cala n Bocsh beach isnt quite as good..its a little dirty with litter which is a shame.

On the whole a lovely holiday..my husband and myself would definitely come to Menorca again but to a different resort. although i was sorry to leave.

" We have not long returned from a... "

We have not long returned from a superb holiday staying at the Paradise Club!
The Hotel itself was brilliant, animation team was the best we have ever experienced. The pools were clean, slight downside was you needed to be up VERY EARLY to grab a decent sunbed! The rooms are big but we found them to have a musty smell, and a lack of utensils, glasses etc in the kitchen(the reason for my 9/10). We did have to be moved on arrival due to the air-conditioning not working in our first room and although this took a little time to be re-located the manager did invite us to a free dinner at the hotel as an apology- a nice touch we felt.
The hotel is directly oppposite the marina which is fab especially with two little ones (aged 2&5). our favourite restaurant has to be the La Fontana! beautiful food and the staff cant do enough for you. the children loved to dance around the band stand after our meal whilst the 2 men were singing away!
evening entertainment in the hotel was good, ours loved the disco although we felt 9pm was a little late for them. I would definately recommend this hotel especially if you have children. Goody goody's is only a 5minute walk away and this is great fun! the main waterpark is only a 5-10minute walk away and this is a great day out for the whole family- a must! ask at reception for entrance tickets as the paradise club offer cheaper tickets for the water park.
the hotel also offer a minimum 4 day half board, under 15 eat free and adults are 15euros a day. It cost us 120 euros for us all to eat half board for 4 days fantastic value! the food was lovely, lots of choice for my husband and myself although a couple of nights not a huge choice for the children(my youngest can be a little fussy thou!). The food is fresh and being replaced all night.
The marina does offer some lovely restuarants but we did find it too be quite pricey eating out all the time.
This was our 3rd visit to Menorca and already we have the brochures for 2009! we would definately look at staying at the paradise club again!

" Lovely place, the area is great. Very... "

Lovely place, the area is great. Very relaxing. no touts trying to get you into the pubs. No over the top street sellers flogging sun glasses and watches.

Hotel was lovely except for one problem.... ANTS and there was millions of them. We were in the blocks that were seperate from the main hotel building next to the pool. There were millions of ants around the outside of the buildings but when we got inside they were on the walls, benches, chairs and floor of our room. We nipped to the supermarket and bought some ant spray that killed them instantly. this removed the problem but every now and again you would find the odd few running around. Be very careful not to leave any food lying anywhere.

Apart from this i had no complaints about anything else. Hotel is very close to lovely marina and not too far from beach. The hotel also has a lovel double swimming pool.

I would say to avoid the ant problem you would be best to ask to be in the main hotel building.

" Myself, husband and 2 daughters (10... "

Myself, husband and 2 daughters (10 and 3 years) have just returned from 2 weeks in Menorca, staying at the Paradise Club. We all had a fantastic time and the weather was hot every day! The apartments themselves were very comfortable, enough room for the 4 of us, with a well equipped kitchen area, TV with Cbeebies etc for the kids, great bathroom, a decent sized double bedroom and a balcony with table and chairs and a clothes airer. Having read other reviews I must say we had no problems with ants or dampness - our room (207) was on the first floor just set back from the pool area, and a real pleasure to stay in.
We had our towels changed most days and linen about 4 times and the maids were very polite and did a good job.
The pools were brilliant, my 2 all but lived in them! The only problem was the parasols - they are fixed in the ground and there aren't many and having young children shade is a must in such hot weather. So annoying as it may be I found myself joining the troops at 7am to try and get one near the pool edge and even at this time most had already been taken! (this is the reason for a score of 9/10). But apart from this we spent many days by the pool as there was lots for the children to do with the animation team.
The hotel is just across the road from the Marina which is a really good place to eat, shop and generally unwind. We ate at numerous restaurants and never had a bad meal! Our favourites were Avanti, Chaplins, Piccolo, The Britannia Bar and Torro Negro (although this was alot more expensive than the others, but still good). After our meal we usually went to Tom's Bar and listened to the 2 men singing on the bandstand and chilled out!
We had days out at Aqua Rock and Goody Goody's which are well worth a visit if you have children.
The beaches are lovely - we went to Son Xoriguer (about a 20 min. walk) but take your parasols as there aren't any on the beach (we bought one for about 5e) and Cala n Bosch beach (about 10 min. walk) which hires out sunbeds and a parasol for 18e for 2. The sea was great, no jellyfish, as I had read on other reviews.
The evening entertainment at the hotel was ok, there's a kiddies disco 9 - 9.30, then bingo and then a show. We also ate in the hotel a few times and found both the breakfasts and evening meals to be good - buffet style, so help yourself to as much and whatever you like. There was enough variety and even the children enjoyed it.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday, the hotel, marina, shops and beaches were brilliant and we are definitely going to go back!

" We stayed at the Paradise Club in May... "

We stayed at the Paradise Club in May with our 15 month old son and we thought it was excellent. Our apartment was on the ground floor and the maids changed the beds every single day and cleaned our apartment - we also had fresh towels.

The location is brilliant and just across the road from the harbour, supermarkets, chemist, car hire etc. The beach was a little further than we thought and also not that big. I would definately recommend La Fontana (restaurant in to the left of the band stand).

I can't understand why people are complaining about children making a noise, they are on holiday just as much as you and this resort as well as apartments is geared up for families with young children. It is obvious from the reviews you read in the brochures beforehand, so why choose this kind of place if it is going to annoy you??!!! If it is peace and quiet you want away from children then don't come here. If you want a good family friendly hotel and resort this is the place for you.

We won't be going back to the Paradise Club as we didn't particularly like Menorca but I would recommend the apartments.

" well, myself and my family (2 boys,... "

well, myself and my family (2 boys, 9+6) have just returned from paradise club, we found the whole holiday thoroughly enjoyable, we were in a self catering apartment situated next to the upper pool, the room was big enough for us to move freely around without getting in each others way, two showers and a bath, a large mirror on the wall and even a hair dryer provided excellent washing facilities. free tv in the lounge area, air conditioning to keep you cool on a night time, comfortable bedroom with plenty of storage and hanging space .. as for the kids club, our boys went there almost every day and found it good fun, could do with being a bit bigger though... entertainment was great daytime and evening, shooting archery mini golf water polo aerobics football, t.shirt painting, parrot show.... excellent for kids and adults , i was never away from the rifle and pistol shooting ,,chicco and valdis were fantastic hosts for these events, night time around the harbour was very pleasant too,, plenty of good food to be had all round, with good service and polite staff. most people we spoke to had been before some even up to 7 times and still love it.... we had no damp in our room! only the odd ant (on the balcony) and the maids were excellent, clean sheets and towels almost every day, apart from friday and saturday which was their time for rest , overall a fantastic holiday for the whole family. and for those of you out there complaining about the odd ant or mozzi or kids having fun and making a bit of noise round the pool........ STAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT HOLIDAY ,,GIVE IT A TRY .....

" We really enjoyed our holiday in Cala... "

We really enjoyed our holiday in Cala n Bosch, the Paradise Club is really central and just across the road from the marina. There are plenty of family friendly restaurants to choose from and you will be spoilt for choice. The hotel is very nice, although we were a little disappointed with our apartment as it isn't as nice as the photos. The maid comes in every day (quite early in case in fancy a lie-in). The hotel entertainment wasn't really for us and we found the two chaps running it fairly annoying!! I would highly recommend you visit Cuitadella, the coach stops right outside reception and it takes about 15 mins, we also hired a car which was fun and we found some really quiet scheduled beaches. 10/10 for Menorca definitely the best of the Balearics.

Im only 15 and I myself had a wonderful time. Im only back a day and had to write something about it I wish I was still there.. The weather was amazing sun everyday apart from a couple of cloudy days but you could still get a colour it was that warm. The nightlife in the hotel was brilliant and there is always something on every night. I would definitely recommend this holiday for family with young kids or teenagers .
