Fantastic staff & brillant service !
from DAtsonGray
The Hotel and staff are brilliant , the food and service is excellent . This is the second time that I have been here this year . I would advise anybody to go to this hotel . You can`t go wrong . With its 95 room capacity , this allows the staff to look after everyones needs without any problems . Not like the larger hotels . And believe me nothing is a problem So Orkan , Halit and not forgetting the manager Haci and the beautifull Ladies at the reception . Thank you again for making my Holiday wonderfull!

we had a wonderful 10 day stay in the Mandalinci hotel , adults & children.. I want to mention the service staff especially, best I have ever encountered, all very well educated/intelligent, who made the wedding anniversary of my wife and me really memorable - red roses, super meal, photos, attention in the restaurant. etc. Very extensive, fabulous gardens, beach, swimming pool. great security. Will be going again next year

The Mandalinci !
from akennet
We would very much like to recommend the Mandalinci Resort . It is very attractive as quite new and being totally renewed . The buliding is attractively designed and the pool is v beautiful. The rooms are very clean and well equipped . The breakfast was a typical turkish breakfast with bread l olives salads and fruit and also cooked eggs … The staff were very friendly and helpful and helped us sort out a problem with a car hire company. Thanks to the manager Mr.Haci The hotel is located directly on the coast near the beach and also in the city center of Turgutreis . We booked all in but due to the plenty choices of bars and restaurants we were mostly outside .The manager Mr.Haci one of the nicest most genuine people we met while away and made the hotel even more homely for us. He was around most of the time and came up and had a conversation with us on a regular basis. Asking if we were having a good time, anything else he or staff members could do. On a whole could not have been nicer. The hotel was very reasonably priced by Thomas Cook . We were there for a week only but will stay longer next year.
Best 4 star I 've ever seen !

It was our 4 th holiday trip to Turkey, mostly we prefered the Antalya region but this time Bodrum was recomended through our friends at work. It was realy fantastic,we had a lot of fun in this beautiful 4 star hotel. The great location, facing to the center of Turgutreis, shoping, restaurants, bars bazar are at walk distance from the hotel. Rooms very modern and large ,food delicious, staff very friendly. This is the best 4 star hotel I have ever seen !
Best location in Turgutreis!

What a lovely hotel the Mandalinci ! We have just returned from a weeks holiday and had a great time. The Mandalinci Hotel has obviously been totally re-furbished very recently(New owner in 2009 ) .The rooms are very comfortable & spotlessly clean. All the staff are very friendly & courteous & we had no problems with any language barriers because the hotel is mainly geared toward Brits which during our stay made us pretty special ! The food is very good indeed, the choice and quality are just as good as many hotels i have stayed at in the caribbean. The pool area is great & we never had any problems getting a sunbed. There is a large main pool. Hotel for brits, you wont regret your choice !!!
Great Location, but hotel could have been a bit better

We have just returned from a week at the Mandalinci and overall we had a lovely time. We had a night flight and although the airport is only 45 mins away normally, our transfer took over 2 hours as the hotel was 2nd to last drop off. Check-in was fine and even though it was 5am, the man on the front desk produced a rather large ham salad roll for us to eat and showed us to the room, which was a nice touch IMO. The room itself was spacious, as was the bathroom, however it had a strange smell to it, but being so tired we just went straight to bed. We had a ground floor room in the middle of the hotel so we didnt really get any sunlight, but we weren't on the 'bar-street' side so that was good as it could get very noisy at night. It was comfortable and clean, but the downside was that most days there was no hot water when you wanted to shower, at best it was 'warm'. This was annoying to us, but we coped with it, but we did hear that most other guests staying at the same time as us were in the same boat. We also really enjoyed the food most days, there was always soup and plenty of salads and bread and they changed the main foods daily, normally chicken, rice, pasta etc, and always quite a selection of desserts. Breakfast could have been better, a nicer choice of cereal, and some hot options would have been welcomed, although they did always have eggs. Drinks were ok too, tea, coffee, water and juice freely available for self service and a bar that had beer, wine and local spirits FOC although brands cost extra when all inclusive. All staff were friendly and the hotel was of a nice quality, you could tell it had been recently refurbished, although lighting should have been better at night as the grounds were very dark and the mood lighting in the lobby bar was horrendous, it was like neon strip lights, far too bright for a bar, yet it had nice seating, which was a shame as we didnt want to use that bar because of it's un-cosy atmosphere. Most disappointing was that there was no hotel entertainment as had been advertised and therefore other than sitting at the bar, there was nothing else to do in the hotel after dinner so most of the time we'd go out for walks. One of the better points was that there always seemed to be plenty of sunbeds, but then i dont think the hotel was full all week and was virtually empty by the end of our stay, with just a handful of guests. Pool was a good size and it is virtually just a few steps from the beach, if you'd rather use that. There are sunbeds and little bars along the front ,but the beach is quite narrow with shingle rather than sand. The hotel is right next to the busy bar street too, which is great when you fancy a change of scenery or perhaps wanna catch a football match, but they do collar you when you walk past and surprisingly drinks are actually really expensive. Behind that is a large market/shopping area which was always open and was nice to take a walk round. Further along near the harbour is a shopping complex with more upmarket bars and shops if you want that sort of thing. There are several boats doing various trips and we went on one which was a bit disappointing. It's advertised within the hotel, as 'Thomas' Boat' The crew and boat itself were lovely and they did a good lunch which was included, but drinks were very pricey and extra on top. The places it stopped at were un-interesting and not as promised, so it may be better to go with your tour operators trips, although a couple we spoke to went on the Ephesus trip and that was a local one and they said it was brilliant and excellent value at half the price Thomas Cook wanted. Overall, Turgutreis was quiet enough to have a relaxing holiday but busier so you had something to do if you wanted. If you're after a middle of the road holiday then this would be ok. We'd probably go back to the resort but would choose a different hotel.
Don't knock till you try it.........it's Turkey and it isn't that bad.

This is only our opinion. We ended up at the Yelken because of a blunder by the tour agent. The hotel is as close to the beach as anyone could want but is closer to the loud street bars than you would hope for. If you stand at the entrance to the hotel you are literally only steps away from Paddys Bar, Scottys Bar etc. These street bars are equipped with big screen TVs and attract all the footie supporters and stay open till around 3am or so. From here you are also very close to the large Saturday street market venue and a whole host of shops and cafes where you can get some really good deals on food and genuine fake fashion items. We were allocated room 2248, a large family room at the far end of the first floor landing. The bell hop lead the way along the darkest, seemingly endless corridor where all the lights were on PIR sensors...........as you approached a light, it switched on, only to go off again just before you reached the next..........wierd! Even during daylight hours, this corridor was quite dark. Our room was to say the least, very orange ........with the hint of lingering stale tobacco smoke. White and orange bathroom tiles, orange patterned carpet, orange furniture etc.......you certainly know when you've been Tango-ed. The room was depressing and so out dated.........the bathroom was grubby and the shower tray looked to have been hit by a lorry carrying silicone sealant....... this didn't matter much as there was no hot water to take a shower anyway. The carpet was lifting in places and presented a trip hazard which didn't bother us too much as we were more likely to be sick from the pattern than to trip over a few loose edges. All rooms are fitted with independent air-con............ours made a noise like a £5.00 rotary impact drill and performed its task with similar efficiency. After a little gentle pressure from us, the manager promised us a room swap by 1pm the following day. We slept well, and in all fairness, didn't notice any noise from outside ............may have been drowned out by air con. The promised room turned out not to be available but we could have a look at the honeymoon room if we wished........smaller than our room and no balcony but we could still have a look. Look we did,.........it was over the other side of the hotel........away from the street bars and the rooms had been refurbished earlier this year..........big difference...........no grotty carpet, no orange Tango tiles or upholstery..........we'll take it. It turned out to have the best view in the hotel....................over the pool to the beach and beyond. Again the air con was all but useless...........the loo seat was falling off and the jaccuzzi type bath was filthy ( we didn't use it.........we know what lurks in the bowels of these beasts) but hell, this room was so much better than the previous one. Next morning still no hot water. The bed was comfortable, we had a flat screen TV and a fridge...........it was advertised as a mini bar but all we ever had in it were two bottles of water. Our room was cleaned, and used towels changed daily..........we didn't bother with the safe box in the wardrobe but were lucky enough not to have anything go missing. The corridors on this side of the hotel were a little better lit with small dim downlighters but the stairway lights didn't work at all which was a real hazard. We seemed to suffer from late night/earlier hours of morning power cuts which knocked off the air con units........deliberate means to reduce power consumption? just seemed too regular to be a fault. It appears that the hotel is doing every thing possible to save power, this includes not lighting the pool and turning off the mood lighting around trees, features and even paths. Now here is where the hotel gets better................the food and the staff. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful and the only critisism of the food was the temperature of the items in the bain maries.......never hot. There was a good variety of food and the quality was very good.........but if you want bacon egg and sausage for breakfast then don't bother cos it's not going to happen. Loads of cheese and salads, pastas and a varied nightly cooked special. Outside........ ....on the few occasions we stayed at the hotel during the day, we had no problem getting sun loungers and towels were supplied. This is also true for the beach area. The pool was clean and tidy and the water felt "right". One complaint from guests was the complete lack of entertainment within the hotel , both daytime and during the evenings. This hotel has good bits and bad bits but for us it turned out to be a very enjoyable stay. Would we go back? No......... We never go back............. It's a big world and we hope to see lots of it. For the money, it's certainly worth a try.
Fantastic hotel - ignore all the negative reviews it's been taken over
from rudyard007
We booked this holiday very last minute and were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews from last year however we needn't have worried as the hotel, staff, facilities and rooms were all wonderful. It is right on the beach and close to the shops, the rooms are big, newly refurbished and all have aircon. The only negative is one side of the hotel faces the busy street where all the bars stay open until 3-4am. We asked to be moved to the quiet side which was done the next day without a problem and with smile. The food was good, all the staff very friendly and the hotel is kept clean and tidy. Lots of none UK people staying which is good as the kids got to meet Russians, Germans, Poles, Swedes and many more. Oh the only other negative was the lack of English TV but when on holiday do you really want to watch the news or hear about the terrible weather at home?
Brilliant

i disagree with anyone who has said badly about this hotel. I recently went there, they cleaned everything including the pool everyday without fail.. the staff were brilliant... and the hotel rooms were fabulous.. i don't see what people are complaining about !!! I think instead of being negative and boring, people should of been realizing the good points of the hotel. It has brilliant nightlife, and if you have little children, their is entertainment for the whole family at the poolside.
