After reading some of the old review's written about this hotel I was a bit apprehensive, I need not have worried, this hotel is everything we could have hoped for, it is right on the beach and in the thick of the entertainment, bars and restaurants, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are a nice size and the food, although a little bit boring by the end of our stay, was always fresh and plentiful and for those with children the snack bar serving burgers and chips all afternoon was very handy, not much by the way of entertainment in the hotel but with so much going on all around we never found this a problem, our first night was a bit noisy because our room overlooked the busy bar street but we had no problems being moved to the quieter side of the hotel, it would pay to ask for this side when you book, unless you intend to be in those noisy bars until they close that is, we found a good mix of people in the hotel, Russian, Polish, Turkish and English.
The air conditioning was free, as were the towels for the pool/beach and bottled water put in the room fridge daily, I would definitely go again, in fact I can't wait.

i went to the mandalinci with my mum, and we both agree out of all the resorts we have stayed in turkey this hotel was the best! the rooms wer clean and smelt fresh, wat we really liked about it was the fact you dint have to pay for airconditioning. also its located right on the beach which is brilliant! the bars are right across the street aswell and the shops! its all so close! the food we thought was fantastic and all cooked freshley! i loved the way it was all laid out. the hotel staff wer friendly except the hotel owner an old lady she was very rude and made you feel unwelcome, she also had a go at people for buying water across the road and bringing it back to the hotel!!! the swimming pool was huge and very clean love the pillows great place to get a tan but can burn lol! definately going back nxt year xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just returned from holiday at hotel Mandalinci. Good points were friendly staff and good location.
The bad points, lousy breakfast, evening meals strange choices but ok, no hot water for entire holiday despite asking to repair daily.
Two wedding bookings taken over weekend of 2,3rd Sept. Waiting for wedding guests to eat so as we could have cutlery to eat our evening meal.
We were unable to use bar on both nights as wedding guests had taken up all available seating. Having paid for our holiday we were made to feel unimportant compared to wedding guests.
Management couldn’t care less basically
Don’t get a room facing bar street as music goes on till early hours (3.30 was earliest).

The Mandalinci hotel is an absolute shamble, as we found out when little things started to happen. When reporting this to reception they listened but that’s all they seemed to do. They said they would send someone round to fix it, which happened on one occasion and still wasn’t fixed. The rooms where tidy on arrival but after this the cleaners seemed to take the bins of the previous day away replace and make the bed. They did mop but the floors where still filthy. Which bring us to the bathroom, the shower tray was a dark mangy grey and white. They looked as if it needed a good scrub. Not only this but you couldn’t be in the shower over 3 minutes over wise you risked the chance of flooding the bathroom and getting every dripping wet for days (even with these dripping wet towels no new ones were issued, the old where simply folded up and put back in their place). Not only was there problems with the shower the drains started to stink out the entire apartment/ room, this was because the so called extractor fans had gone passed the days of dust they where cover with a black dirty almost like soil. On the whole it seems we were the lucky ones, hard to imagine but we were told of reports from other guests that they had or had to do because the hotel staff wouldn’t sort it: - cock roach infestation. - flooding bathrooms (we was checking out at the point a young gent came to receptionist in just a towel saying the shower was flooding the room, and the receptionist told him to leave it 15 minutes and come back). - Dirty toilets/ unclean. - One lady had to clean someone’s fesses out of the baby swimming pool on more than one occasion (this went on over a ONE day period.) After checking out and waiting for our transfer we starting talking along ourselves about all these problems and saying that something needed to be done about it. Out of everything that was said the staff were 7 out of 10 helpful and pleasant but looks shattered and bored 80% of the day. It came up in conversation also that this hotel in 2 years is completely being knocked down to make way for apartments or villas there for they didn’t care about its deteriorating look and feel. At the end of the day it was not worth spending the money that I and my partner paid to stay here. Simply I wouldn’t even want my worst enemy to stay there, after 2 weeks of it it’s like being in a real life hell. The one thing if it’s too late and you have booked it pay for your drinks at the bar or when ordered don't use tabs or use their mini bar as the mini bar if thing was not in there to start with the you will be charged.

My husband and I spent one night in this hotel and then left. It was a nightmare.
Our room, in common with half of the hotel rooms overlook bars and restaurants that are open and very noisy until 4 am. We could not sleep.
This despite having specifically asked for a quiet room! The air conditioning did not work either.
The staff were rude and unhelpful to me; and to the man complaining about the cockroaches.
We transferred to the Irme which is a pleasant, clean, quiet, family run hotel which I have no hesitation in recommending. It's on the side of town that doesn't smell of drains either!

I and my family have been going to Turgutreis for 8 years and have always enjoyed it there as it is not too commercialised, we stayed in a few different hotels over the first 3 years and the last 5 years we stayed in the Mandalinci hotel and have always enjoyed it but this year it has gone downhill rapidly.
The pool/bar staff seem very miserable apart from 2 or 3 of them, the pool itself needs a overhaul as the bottom of the pool is very rough, there was allot of people coming out of the pool with sore toes or bleeding toes as I did, so that really needs sorting out as it can ruin your fun in the pool.
The food on an evening wasn’t that good either, from the reports that we had of various guests it was the same food every night and it very poor, the rooms are cleaned every day but the towels are changed every 3 or 4 days, some of the rooms had dodgy door locks and dodgy electrics and you had to complain a bit to get it sorted.
As you could imagine we were very disappointed about it all but later on in the holiday we found out why they let it go downhill, it was because they were selling it and didn’t really care about the hotel anymore, but to our delight we also found out it had been bought and that they are going to sort out the hotel so it gets back to its good condition like it used to be, hooray.
Apart from all that Turgutreis is a really great place to go as there are many different restaurants to choose from, some of the best ones are hidden away but if you are prepared to walk about you will find them and if you like your Sunday dinners I could recommend the Cool Breeze cafe/restaurant.
There are plenty of places that do them, their pizzas are really good as well as the rest of the menu, the bars are mainly all down one street and that is called [ wait for it ] bar street, there is a bar for all peoples tastes from relaxing to mad what ever sort your after you’ll find it there.
Daytime you can have a relaxing day by doing nothing by the side of the pool and getting the waiters to fetch you your drinks or food, or you could even go on the beech and do the same, their are numerous water sports that you can try out or just chill on the peddle boats its your choice.
If you want something different try the boat trips for a £10 each but if your a bit cheeky you can barter them down a bit, in with the price you get a meal [ if you have any special requirements for food give them plenty of notice and they will help you out the best they can.
The boat that we have been going on for 8 years is the Thomas boat, the food is good and the entertainment is also good, the lads who work on the boat are all friendly and helpful and most of them do speak good English, you can’t go wrong on the Thomas boat.
If you want something different then try the aqua park its a very good day out with many different slides for you to try out, the food and drink is very good and reasonably priced for a theme park type place, there are a few different areas in the park which cater for all from little tots to you crazy people who like the mad slides, you wont be disappointed, if this isn’t to your liking you can go to an excursion shop where you can book a trip to anywhere you like, from ruins, waterfalls, jeep safaris or take a boat ride to the island of Kos, to whatever suits your interest.
At the end of the day Turgutreis caters for all your needs, and it is very addictive place to go, you will always meet someone who has been going there for many years and I can promise you we will keep going there for many more years to come. All this I have written is just a fraction of what I could write but you must try this place for yourself, you will see what I mean, happy holiday to all where ever you go.

Just returned home after our holiday at the Mandalinci.
Bedrooms were ok, but only basic, the pool had scum marks all around it, pool toilets were filthy, and the beach was littered with dog poo, beer bottles, litter etc.
Went to this hotel recommended from a family friend, they said it was spotless, that was last year, we were told they brought cushion's to your lounger on the beach and brought you drinks', not this time they didn't.
Our complaints fell on deaf ears.
Also they don’t stop asking you (if you are around the pool) if you would like a drink, even if just ten minutes' ago, you just had one! Also keep tabs' on your bar bill (pay as you go).

I have just got back home from the Mandalinchi hotel this week the hotel isn’t as good as I expected, as it has gone down bank with the food and entertainment but the cleanliness is fantastic.
The resort is amazing and I have been before and I will return there again. If you do the trips I highly recommend the Turkish bath and also the dream girl show but if you like a good tan then the boat trips are well worth it, £10 you can go wrong.
You go out from around 10 in the morning till half 6 at night and you have your dinner and snacks on the boat you go to around 7 different islands but I think that south side is better, as you can go to camel island I would highly recommend the Jerry boat as the staff are amazing and make your holiday as enjoyable as can be. The Jerry boat is the first boat on the marina so you shouldn’t miss it!

My husband and myself went back to the Mandalinci as we had been a few times before and always found it a very good accommodating hotel.
This time unfortunately we found the hotel sadly lacking, maybe our expectations were too high but the hotel needs a complete revamp as it is very dingy and in some areas quite scruffy!
The rooms are very basic but fairly clean and the maid often added an extra touch by making a towel into a flower shape and sprinkling flower petals on the bed!
The gardens and gardeners are excellent, the grounds are a credit to all the hard work they put in, there is always a very good floral display all times of the year.
The food was very sparse especially at breakfast time! There is just salad e.g. tomato, cucumber, cheese, salami etc.cereals and boiled eggs! There is lots of bread and jams! And watered down fruit juice plus tea or coffee!
There is freshly squeezed orange juice for a price!
We had a couple of evening meals which sadly were nothing special and the amount was limited! There was salad at night which often appeared at breakfast the following day!
I have to say that the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, if there was a problem e.g. in your room it was resolved almost immediately.
There are no bedrooms now on the bar side so the noise element is not there now!
There are shops and cafes instead.
We would stay in Turgutreis again but would have to consider a different hotel unless the Mandalinci improves greatly which I doubt it will.

I came across this hotel by accident, it looked great in the brochure so we thought we’d give it a go.
That was 5 years ago and I have been going there at least once a year.
It is so central you don’t have to go out of the town for anything.
The hotel is quite quiet but they do have a Turkish night once a week, which is well worth going to.
Outside the hotel there is plenty of restaurants to choose from, and bars ranging from lively (not disco) to a quiet peaceful drink, there is something for everyone.
On a Saturday the market comes to town, it is massive and plenty of bargains to be had so get ready for haggling.
Also try a Gullet cruise down at the harbour there are about 12 boats ready to take you out, it will cost £10 for a day out this includes a meal as well, again well worth a trip.
Try this hotel out you will love it.

The hotel was truly amazingly and far better than expected. The hotel was always very clean and the staff went that extra way to help you.
The pool is superb they held games in the pool for children and adults throughout the day which is very fun. I also recommend to do stay behind for the hotel theme nights as they are really worth while and have some excellent entertainers.
The location is the best you could possibly wish for the gorgeous beach is within about 5 footsteps out the back of the hotel! Along there you will find watersports.
As soon as you step foot out of the hotel you are right in the middle of the town, offering vast amounts of bars and restaurants.
I do have to warn you though the owners may try to drag you in but don’t give in to the first bar/restaurant you come across as there is many to be viewed. Prices are cheap but I would advise you to walk far into the town to get the best prices, beach locations tend to be a lot more expensive.
Also whilst your there a most do thing is to walk down to the harbour and take a boat trip they are out of this world! There is a lot of choice so pick carefully.
My family went on this gorgeous boat for a day and visited many small island and swam in the sea, on the boat you are also given lunch which is salad, bread and chicken ect. The boat trip cost £10 a person and £5 for a child so a bargain!
They like you to pay in English pounds though so make sure you take some English money. Also when are arrive in Turkey at the airport you must pay £10 a person in English money I'm not sure why? But they won’t let you through otherwise and make sure you have a £10 note they don’t accept anything else!
So overall the hotel is AMAZING and I advise anyone to go there!
