Timhotel Nation Hotel

Just got back from Paris last nite. Stayed at Timhotel Nation for three nites with a friend. We were originally given a one-bed room, but my friend got it switched to two very small beds. For a European hotel room, it was spacious. The two beds together = 1 queen. Two small nightstands, one small desk (with 13" TV), a wardrobe complete the strictly utilitarian furnishings. We stayed here for a week over the New Year holiday. The staff was friendly and the hotel served a very nice continental breakfast daily. Our complaint is with the quality of the room. The room felt dirty with a few dents and marks on the walls and a couple of small holes on the bedspread. The white shower curtain had a brown edge on the bottom. The double bed was also VERY firm. I stayed here 26th Nov 05 to 28th Nov 05 with my 7 year old daughter. We chose this hotel beause of the reviews on this site. The hotel was great, when we arrived I had lost the voucher. The lady who has had some bad feedback was so nice and didn,t worry about it, all the reception staff were very pleasant. Room was large and clean. The heating is controlled by the occupant. We were at the Nation for 6 nights in late November. The hotel is in the 20th arrondissment, just north of the Place de Nation. That's actually an excellent location, as it's only 5 minutes from a pretty large metro stop. It's very quick from there to central Paris, including the Louvre, Champs Elysee, etc. A couple of transfers gets you to Ile de Cite (Notre Dame), the Tower, and Musee D'Orsay. We stayed here for 4 nights end of October and it was good value for the money. The staff was in general nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was good. As the former review said, the closest Metro station is closed until the beginning of December 2005, and I would recommend the Nation Metro station. The only disadvantage with the hotel is that it is a little bit off the most central parts of Paris, but of course it's easy to go there by Metro. We stayed here at the end of October and would stay again. It is very close to the Metro (although the Avron station is closed for refurbishment, use Buzenval instead). The rooms are small but very clean and safe. We found the staff very friendly and spoke excellent English. You can have breakfast at the hotel for 8 euros but there are so many places to eat near the hotel you are better off going elsewhere. Stayed here in September with some friends. I have to say that for a 2 star hotel it was ok but the rooms are very small and very very hot. If you like air conditioning this is not the place to stay! It would also be a good idea if you don't like noise to ask for a room at the back of the hotel as it is located on a very busy street and is noisy all night. The reception staff are helpful but we were not made very welcome by the girl in the breakfast room.

The Hotel Tim Nation was not right downtown, but it was a great place to stay. The Metro Station was only a block away. And you could go anywhere from there.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. It was located right outside of avron station which was great. The hotel was nice, they let us leave our luggage there in the morning until our room was ready. It was close to a grocery store and had a kebob stand downstairs which was good. The room was small and a little stuffy but nice. There was cable T/V which was good at night. The breakfast was very basic, it consisted of crossiants and jam. A small, spotless hotel in an excellent location. We would not have managed to see nearly as much as we did of Paris without the hotel's proximity to the Metro (literally a 1 minute walk). It even passed the shower test, having a powerful, hot shower at all times, something that cannot always be relied upon in the nicest hotels. I have stayed in far inferior hotels for far more money.
