Universo & Nord Hotel

Excellent location, close to the railway station, bus station, and Vaporetti stop connecting you to the whole of Venice and surrounding islands.
The room had air-conditioning and a fridge with mini bar. The room was a good size and kept very clean, with clean sheets and towels daily.
Our room had a view to the back of the hotel, and whilst not exciting, it was nice and quiet.
There is no lift in the hotel, but our room was on the top (third) floor and this did not cause a problem.
Breakfast was a help yourself continental style buffet with ham, cheese, bread, yoghurt, cereal, etc.
There are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants close by and St Marks Square (and all Venice attractions) are within walking distance, although a day pass (or longer pass) for the Vaporetti (water buses) is well worth the money, then you can jump on and off at any stops you want and is cheaper than a "one hour" ticket.
I would certainly stay in this hotel again.
