Good location for forest of dean

Stayed 4 nights at reduced price. Lodge let us use our own fan as it was 32 degrees for the days. Seemed to be a problem with the drains..some patrons were complaining about the smell at night comming in through the windows but this just may have been a minor problem due to heat that week ? Room was clean, and fresh towels and linen every day. Place is a little worn but overall in good condition. The A40 is very buzy, but the hotel is set back from the road..no problem with noise. Stayed for 2 nights at £25 per double room per night thanks to a travelodge internet promo. Room OK if a little worn. Close to Raglan with good pubs and a fine castle. Noise not from traffic, but from staff starting their cleaning duties at 7a.m. every morning, is it really necessary to start hoovering at that time?

The lodge was just as warm, the greeting, just as friendly, but this year there was an unwanted 'extra' that marred our visit and ruined our comfort. It is, apparently, Travelodge policy to allow dog owners to keep their pets in the rooms. There is no information given... more
