Give it a miss....
Noisy and dirty. Its family run I think. I agree with other posters - the staff were not particularly attentive or friendly. The noise from outside the room was postively disturbing. It is situated above one of the busiest streets which is full of noisy tourists from dusk till dawn. The breakfast was not that great - coffee ran out and was not replaced for about fifteen minutes. we came down at nine so its not as if it was finishing up. Its expensive for what it is. give it a miss.
It's just fine - be realisitic
We have just returned from a lovely trip to Italy, including 4 nights in Sorrento. The Hotel Del Corso was a last-minute substitution by our travel agent for our stay in Sorrento. Having read the consistantly negative reviews posted on Trip Advisor, we were extremely concerned about what we would find upon arrival. To be sure, the owner is a tidge grumpy, but he's like that to everyone. These are not the swankest accommodations going, the bathrooms are small, and the "hair dryers" seem to have been cobbled together from a dust-buster and... more
Hotel quite acceptable- Not hostile
My wife and I found the Hotel very acceptable. After a very long day getting from Toronto to Rome to Naples and driving to Sorrento, we were pleased with our reception and our room. The bathroom had hot water and water pressure (not something always available in Italy). Our room was comfortable and clean with a patio over the street. It was a bit noisy Saturday night. The owner was quite helpful in trying to locate a private tour of the Amalfi Coast when we discovered no tours were available on Mondays. We did not end up taking the private... more
Some people should just stay home!!!!
To the people who complained about this hotel and it's proprieters, just stay home! We witnessed people complaining vociferously about the size of the showers...THE SIZE OF THE SHOWERS?!?!?! What would they have these people do? Rebuild the 400 year old hotel? DUHHHHH. These people were perfectly pleasant! They gave us detailed directions to different spots, and even sat and talked with us at the bar. What was our secret? We weren't rude! We didn't complain about things that couldn't be changed and enjoyed the hotel for what it was. A... more
Is this the Adams family hotel?
Sorrento is beautiful and the location of the hotel excellent with an attractive open balcony overlooking the street which is superb on festival days/nights. The hotel is all the more disappointing for this. The rooms are somewhat dingy, and the bathrooms seedy and ill-appointed. The owners seemed surly and slightly forbidding, and breakfast is little short of a revelation - reconstituted juice, yesterdays rolls, clearly purchased on the cheap and some flakes, which were suspected of being dried body parts!! The instant coffee - a... more
Not Great, But Great Location
Yes, I do understand how some have described the hotel owners as hostile. This hotel was clean, good breakfast, and the bed was not super comfortalble. We stayed in room number 69, which had a view of the main street (which is very nice) and a large patio for us to sit and people watch. For the price of this hotel, 100 Euro a night, I can not really complain. The breakfast rolls were super yummy, and the view from the balcony at breakfast was perfect.

This hotel is DIRTY and noisy! Any complaints to the management are met with hostility. They must know their customers are not happy since they make you pay when you check in - before you see your room!
Disliked the Hotel Del Corso
Hotel Del Corso is in a great location right in the heart of Sorrento. The hotel itself is basic, no frills. The rooms were dirty. Every day cleaning consisted of making the bed (no clean sheets in 4 days) and changing the towels. We requested an extra towel, the maid became very angry and refused to give us one infact she yelled stating only one towel per person per day. The hotel was extremely noisy. I would compare the rooms to a college dorm. The hotel management was rude and acted as if they didn't appreciate our business.<br... more
Avoid the Hotel Del Corso in Sorrento
Avoid Hotel Del Corso in Sorrento at all costs. The only redeeming factor was the location of the hotel, but otherwise this establishment falls far short of it's 3 star rating. Rooms were clean but sparse and small. The hotel staff were unfriendly and cold. And the most unacceptable part was no hot water in the shower.
Ritas shop to the lobby.
I enjoyed my stay at sorrento the people and atmpsphere were fantastic. I intend without doubt to return to this beautiful place. I did however have one disappointing aspect to my holiday that was Ritas shop to the lobby of the del corso hotel at sorrento. I have bought a clock here which does not work. To date the shop has in no way helped to resolve. I advise anyone who stays here not to buy in this shop.
