Nice little hotel, but very small rooms
Stayed in this hotel for two nights as part of a european tour last February 2005. The hotel itself is in a good location, half a block from the metro station, which will take you to all the sights easily, and the area was quiet and safe. The hotel staff were pleasant with requests but as the hotel seemed to be a regular tour location, you often had to cue for any requests. The lifts were also very slow, so we often found ourselves taking the stairs to the third floor where we were located. As I was travelling with a friend, we... more
Small but ok for the money
The hotel is clean and the rooms have been refitted. The rooms are very small and the hotel rooms are more of the standard of the Ibis brand than Mercure. The onsite restaurants are good and are shared with the Novotel next door as both are owned by Accor. The area around the hotel is mainly residential except for the palais omnisports de paris bercy next door to the hotel which I imagine most of the bussiness comes from. The park around the back of the hotel is lovely and well worth a wonder around but becareful at night as it isn't that... more
Loved the Mercure Paris Bercy
The hotel was clean and beautiful. The breakfast buffet had good food but getting to the food was not very well organized. It was nice that you could choose the restaurant instead. The rooms were seriously small, with little to no storage. But, the bathroom was very nice with a large tub. Our room had no view, but we were close to banks, restaurants, and the metro stop at Bercy.
Good value
I stayed at the Mercure Bercy for two nights in march 2006. The hotel is a bit out of the way from the main sights being out at Bercy. It is right next to the Bercy palais omnisports on the south of the city. There are a good range of restaurants and bars nearby (not cheap beer though) and despite being a bit out of the way it is well located right next to a metro on two lines. One of which goes through the south west of the city past the invalides, eiffel tower and terminates at the arc de triomphe stop, the other of which does... more
Average - nothing else.
Very basic and certainly should not be a 3 star. YOu can do much better in Paris to find a hotel.. If the hotel next door is the same 3 star as this, strange indeed. Bad service - welcome to Paris - poorly lit room, small with a big water in the ceiling waiting to fall down. Staff with attitude , the bad one at that. Location is great, safe and metro right there..this hotel needs to be renovated as part of Accorhotel mandate to renovate all its hotel.
GoodValue
It´s a nice play to sleep in, close to the city center. The tube is quite near and the area is safe. Excellent breakfast and very good service overall. Would recommend it if budget/more than budget travelling
satisfactory experience
Stayed for 7 nights and had a satisfactory experience. Booked as part of an AirTransat holiday package and was not disappointed. Hotel is steps away from the Metro, Bercy station, which connects directly to the fully computerized number 14 line - the Meteor which gets you to the center of Paris in minutes. The room was small but very clean and comfortable and was air conditioned with a window which could be opened if you prefer fresh air. Breakfast , consisting of both hot and cold items, was satisfactory. Tried dinner one night but... more
Worth What We Paid
We stayed here for a week as part of a package deal we purchased at home (Online). For what we paid (a good deal) we thought the hotel was quite acceptable. The rooms are quite small, but they are modern and clean. The bathroom is also nice, but like some hotels in Europe, is lacking a shower door! I don't understand this since everytime you shower the bathroom floor gets sopping wet (we also encountered this in Scotland last year). We ate at their Restaurant one night and were not too impressed. Very slow service and the food we got... more
Average Hotel
I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Although it is not located in the very centre of the city, it is very close (less than 5 minutes' walking) to the metro station (Bercy). It only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the city centre, so it could still be said as a good location. The room was big (although this might be due to my prior request for a bigger room), and the facilities inside were very good. Breakfast was quite good (at standard of hotels in Europe). Staff spoke perfect English and were reasonably friendly and helpful. I would... more
6 out of 10
If you want a no frills hotel for 108 euros (business weekday) less than 5 mins in a taxi from Notre Dame than this is for you. Near the banks of the Seine in a reasonable area, this hotel is the average of averages. Staff pleasant, allowed me to try my rudimentary French, Room small but OK. 6 taxi to the heart of Paris, or a 15mn walk. Breakfast = typically french. Have used twice, will stay again.
