This is a rough hotel
from glandsb500
This hotel is very rundown in a rough part of Paris although very convienient for the 2 main train stations. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the bathroom was poorly equipped - there was a shower in the bath but nowhere to hook it while you showered. There was no shower door or curtain resulting in water being sprayed all over the floor. The towels were what I would call "hand towels", and only 2 were supplied for 2 people. Breakfast consisted of 1 small roll, a croissant, 1 small container of jam and a cup of coffee or tea....

was absolutley fine
from francesca_paola
I read the reviews on this site about la liege before i left, and was therefore quite worried about staying there.i took on board the advice and took my own towels etc. when we arrived the entrance was clean, the service was friendly. we were told that the hotel was full even though we had booked and they directed us to their other building about ten doors down. i was worried when i heard this and thought that it may be some sort of a scam. we arrived at the other hotel..the little regina.it was smaller and situated two doors down from a sex...

Wouldn't go back
from CRODGERS
Just got back from Paris and although I don't normally bother with reviews I thought it's worth warning people to try elsewhere, i'm sure for the money you can do much better. We only stayed two nights so it wasn't a complete nightmare to put up with but note the following: - 'towels' were hand towel size, worn through and rough - bathroom fittings loose and the shower handle broken but there is a hairdryer (seeing the towels are too small to dry even yourself), the sink had no plug - the room was incredibly basic (didn't...

Will not go back there!
from A TripAdvisor Member
First of all, the location is not so nice. If you plan to go out at night and come back late, this is definitely not the place to be. Men loiter in packs all over the place. I explored the neighborhood and found nothing but rows and rows of hair saloons specializing on afro hairstyle, a pakistani restaurant, dirty clubs, and lots of small middle-eastern grocery shops. Everytime we go back to our room, I always wonder if we were indeed in Paris. Secondly, the room where we stayed was pretty untidy. The bathroom tub was...

You get what you pay for...

We stayed there for 4days in June. Definately a LOW-BUDGET hotel! Also had to aske for extra towels and the shower didn't work properly-with the shower head dangling loosely. Breakfast was very plain and you aren't allowed having more than one serving of crossant and bread roll. Area was convenient.
Not too bad
from travellingteachers
Just got back from a student trip to Paris and London. Stayed 4 nights at the Liege Strasbourg. The facility itself wasn't bad. Our room was larger than anticipated and quite clean. We had to ask for extra towels and when we did get them, they were very rough and we felt like we were exfoliating our skin. It's an old building and our room was right next to the stairway. We could hear everyone walking up and down the stairs. The lift is tiny. We actually sent our luggage up without us. The breakfast in the morning left a lot to...

Pretty basic - not a great part of town
from A TripAdvisor Member
I did not really enjoy my stay at this hotel. Its one redeeming feature is that it is near a metro stop. Most of the male admin staff were ok - a couple were quite unfriendly in some aspects. The room we had was tiny - the smallest room I have ever stayed in - completely different to the brochure picture we saw. The room had just the absolute basics with the following points to note: * No kettle in the room to make your own tea etc. * No shower curtain to avoid making a flood in the bathroom * No proper towels - only...

Purely functional
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at this hotel with a friend, our main requirements were for two beds with an adjoining shower and a loo at minimum price. All these requirements were filled and yet I would not choose to stay in this hotel again. The management were generally unfriendly. The website implies there is a tourist desk, this basically means a stand with a few leaflets. The hotel is based in an area which feels 'a bit dodgy' and as we were two young girls we did not feel at all safe walking around at night. It is right next to a metro but there tended to...

Pictures show a glorifed hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel wasn't exactlly all the website cracks it up to be I can honestly say that out of the 10 rooms my group shared I didn't see one that looked nearly as pretty as the one shown. However yes it is located next to a merto stop which was extrememly nice. However the location the hotel is in is a african community with several barber and wig shops so women be ready to be harssed constantly all day everyday by men inviting you to their shops the moment you set foot outside the door. Some of the rooms were small but the smallest had a...

An OK Hotel, but some problems
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel is within walking distance from the train station. We arrived and we attempted to speak French. They man behind the desk was ok and gave us our room key. We took the elevator up and got to our room. The first impression was good, but as we looked around, the room had some problems. They advertise that the rooms have a/c. NO A/C at this hotel. Don't listen to their website. The bathroom had some problems. Our toilet was leaking. We used a towel and placed it around the toilet so it wouldn't run out onto the...
