Stayed for one night at the Tower. Waterford is about an hour and a bit drive from the Rosslare ferry port so is ideal for an overnight stop if you are intending to drive to the west of Ireland.
The hotel is located right by the marina and is in a lovely location. Room was quite spacious and very clean. Better than the 3 star which I think it is rated. The car park is just behind the hotel opposite the rear entrance and is free.
We ate in the restaurant that evening and were pleasantly surprised at the very fine quality of the food and the service. Certainly top restaurant standard. The restaurant offers al a carte, however, they also had a fixed menu priced at €69 for two people with a choice of about six items for each course. I doubt you will find better value anywhere. the ambience was such that we were in no hurry to leave.
The breakfast choices were everything you might expect in a top class hotel.
I cannot praise the Tower enough.
We had time to take a little bit of a walk around Waterford which is quite quaint, if a little scruffy in places but very pleasant in others. Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the Waterford glass works which I guess is the reason a lot of people might visit Waterford.
If you intend going to this part of Ireland then I thoroughly recommend it.
