This for us was the perfect stopover...

This for us was the perfect stopover when we first arrived in Ireland. After collecting a hire car from Dublin airport our first worry was getting through the Dublin traffic, however situated on the outskirts of Dublin it was easy to navigate to being just off the ring road that surrounds Dublin (and only a few miles from central Dublin.)
The hotel is newly built with excellent facilities that would rival a four star hotel. It also has a supermarket close by to help you pick up essentials for the drive ahead - ideal for a one night stopover with easy parking and most importantly easy to find.

The hotel reception and rooms are lovely, modern and comfortable. We had a deal where the evening meal was free on our first night. Food was fine, but the restaurant was cold and there was not much atmosphere. The set-up was a bit confusing: we were told to get our drinks from the bar opposite and carry them back through to the restaurant at first, and then we got told not to do this again and that the waiters would do it for us. Also the first morning was a self service breakfast buffet but the next morning you had to order....not sure why! Situated between the airport and Dublin centre we were able to travel into Dublin by bus or taxi. I would highly recommend The Temple bar for a night out. The staff in the Ardmore were helpful but mainly European and English was the second language of every staff member we spoke to so we struggled to communicate sometimes. But overall, a pleasant stay.
