Stormont Hotel

The motto of the hotel seemed to be everything's too much trouble. We arrived fairly late and were meeting up with a group of friends so were anxious to unpack as quickly as possible. However, the window in the first room didn't work and I'd noticed that the bedding contained feathers and would need changing as I'm allergic to them. Instead of fixing the problem with the window, they seemed intent on asking us if we wanted single beds. The problem was that apart from the receptionist, no-one spoke or understood much English - and our Polish isn't that good. We had to leave them to sort out the feathers once we’d got a room where the windows worked.
Needless to say, we arrived back from our night out to find that the pillows still had feathers in them (although they'd changed the duvet). It had been a very long day and the last thing we wanted at 1.30am was to wait another half hour before we could go to bed. The final straw was that they have an 11 o'clock check out time and we asked if we could stay until 12, to which they said there would be an additional charge.
But at least you get a little rubber duck for the bath. I very much doubt we'll use Hastings Hotels again.
