I would personally like to thank the hotel manager who took the time to assist our family with our crisis. It was a stressful situation but, he took the time to help us resolve it, again I thank you. We as a family were able to continue on and have enjoyable time together.... more

Having been disappointed with a hotel in the Cayos some years ago we went bact to Cuba with some worries, we didnt need to. This hotel is excellant in every area, staff are amazing, facilities and cleanliness were first class. we will definately be returning.

Been here 3 times now and i must say that everytime i had the time off my life.
Great hotel,nice people and fantastic shows in the evening.
The food is super and for everyone even vegi people like myself.
So get your suitcase and go to tainos hotel in cuba.
You can not miss with this hotel.

Couldn't have been better! from A TripAdvisor Member
The staff was great, friendly and very easy to connect with. The waiters/bartenders remembered all the guests and what they liked. The animation crew made my stay very memorable with all the activities and performances. The beach was fantastic, lots of beach chairs and palapas. Sailing on the catamaran, kayaking and the peddal boats were readily available. I would recommend Iberostar Tainos to everyone!

We stayed at Tainos from Dec. 20/03 to Jan. 3/04. We could not have been happier. From the time we checked in until we left, the service, staff and food were all we could have hoped for. After hearing some of the horror stories about the food in some other resorts from passengers on the plane home, we realize how fortunate we were in choosing this resort. I was amazed at the talent displayed by the singers and dancers at the resort as well. I wouldn't ever consider another place when I get the satisfaction that we had here. If you choose this hotel and are disappointed, then I would suggest it would be you and not the resort that needs a tune-up!!

We stayed at the Iberostar Tainos from Dec 8-22, 2003 and had a great time. The beach was great however the weather was not and many days we were unable to swim due to the rough ocean. This did not stop us from enjoying the beach which appeared to be the best around our area and a short walk down a nice path to the beach. The pool was large and inviting but very cold so on the overcast days it was too cold to swim for long. On the hotter days the water was refreshing. The food was good. There was a wide variety of dishes to chose from and we enjoyed both the buffet restaurants and the ala carte restaurants. We did find the atmosphere of the Cuban restaurant better but the food was comparable at all of them. The room was basic but clean and the maid did a great job. We tipped her $1 per day (left on the pillow) and we would return each day to a very clean and decorated room (flowers and animals made out of towels etc). The entertainment team was good and everyone was extremely friendly in a very genuine down to earth way. We were most disappointed with the kids club as we have a four year old that was looking forward to playing with kids in the club. Unfortunately the woman running it either didn't show up or showed up late each day. The activities were not well organized and she made little effort to entertain the kids. Our daughter would stay and draw for 10 minutes and then come and find us or play with kids at the pool because it was boring. The mini disco was the same. She put hoola hoops and balls on the dance floor and then watched the kids play with them - not much enthusiasm or motivation. The shows were hit and miss (we enjoyed the dance and music shows but found the audience participation shows such as Romance Night, Mr. Iberostar and Miss Iberostar to be long, overdone and at times pathetically embarassing. It is very impressive however how talented the entertainment team is and as mentioned the dance and music shows were very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight trip to Havana and highly recommend both a trip to Havana and a trip to the Tropicana show. Overall the highlights were: incredibly friendly people, good food, clean accomodation, a safe inviting country, a nice pool (although very cold), an amazing beach and a talented, fun, friendly but not in your face staff. Overall the low lights were: the kids club, the weather (temperatures ranged from a high of 68 degrees to a high of 81 degrees and we definitely had our share of rain and cloud). This was our first all inclusive and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The negatives mentioned in the review did not ruin our trip by any means but simply would have made it better. Enjoy your trip to the Tainos. We hope to return one day.

Just returned from Iberostar Tainos (Nov. 9, 2003) and highly recommend it as a vacation destination. We have been to several other islands and have found none better than this. The beach (best we have seen), pool, and accommodations were excellent and clean. The food was excellent and best of all the Tainos staff were extremely freindly and helpful at all times. They went overboard to make our stay first class. The nightly entertainment was also great, especially the black light theatre.

Wow! Hats off to others that have commented through this website. My wife and I read many comments before booking our trip to Cuba. We wanted to go to Cuba because we were taking our 4 year old daughter on vacation with us this time and wanted a short flight. We narrowed down our decision to go to the Tainos based on the comments we read here and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff were wonderful and always helpful to whatever need you might have. There was always things going on and no pressure to join in if you just wanted to relax. Drinks were a plenty and you didn't have to wait forever to get one,as well they even had someone walking around the pool to bring you drinks. The food as most people comment in Cuba is a little on the greasy side as they like to fry a lot. Dinners were very good with a large variety of foods. The fish dishes were the best that I have had in the Caribbean. The rooms and grounds were kept very clean and the beach was one of the best of all the hotels stretched along the area. Our daughter could not wait each day to run off to the kids club at 10:30-13:00. This gave us some free time to relax and walk the long stretch of beach. We did not try the additional places to eat only because they did not have a selection for kids meals and with our very picky little eater we thought it best to stick with the buffet.Nightly shows were entertaining . I would recommend this resort to anyone who's looking for a good low expense vacation.

A group of 25 people spent the week of Sept. 20, 2003 at this hotel and we had a wonderful time and fabulous weather. The hotel is definately a 4*. The beach is beautiful and the a la carte restaurants were amazing (you must try the steak at the Cuban Restaurant, it simply melts in your mouth). The food at the buffet is good, and the snack bar by the pool was quite welcoming for lunch time. The animation team was a little slow at the start of the week, but by Tuesday they were in full spin (One of the nicest is Alix a.k.a. Bobby). The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are kept very clean. Some people in our group stayed in the main building while others stayed in the units. Being one of those in the main building, I would suggest staying in the units as those people found it to be easier access to everything and quieter. I would definately recommend this resort to everyone.

Following a 4 nights stay in Havana my wife and I have recently enjoyed a wonderful 10 nights holiday at the Tainos. (From 31/08/03 to 10/09/03).From the minute we walked into the lobby area to the day we bid our farewells it was a memorable stay.All credit must go to the staff at the Tainos - their cheerfulness and friendliness contributed greatly to us having a great time. It would be unfair to mention individual members of staff - we will remember some more than others , but they all deserve our thanks.The quality of service , food , drink , accommodation , facilities, entertainment etc were of the highest standard.This was our first taste of a holiday outside of Europe + our first All Inclusive holiday.Our best holiday ever - Thanks again.Eileen and John

We just came back from one week in Varadero. We enjoyed a gorgeous beach and a truly summer weather. We'll never forget the excellent food at Tainos and its fantastic presentation and display at the buffet restaurant. It didn't look like your typical buffet restaurant; it was more like a banquet hall. Also, the nightly show at the Cafe Bar was professionally done--there is no difference between these shows and the ones you see on TV or are presented at a theather elsewhere. They have a great singer, excellent dancers, and a variety of special effects every night. Finally, there was this amazing Mini Club (kid's program) leader named Ariadne. She was so cheerful and entertaining that my daughter would miss any other thing but the time at the Mini Club. She still misses her club leader.
The perfect wedding from A TripAdvisor Member
All I can say is what a perfect place to get married!!! My husband and I were married on a beautiful strip of beach in front of the Iberostar Tainos on April 30th of this year. We were extremely impressed with the wedding package and the staff (especially Ilena) who cared for our every need. I can honestly say that I couldn't have asked for anything more. We will definately be back to re-new our vows!
