St Andrews Bay Golf Resort & Spa Hotel

This hotel had absolutely no atmosphere. I would liken it to a glorified conference centre.

The main restaurant is situated within a vast central lobby and is self service. I found the experience not unlike dining in a shopping centre food court.

It was not relaxing, and absurdly overpriced. Water was provided in the rooms for £2.00 per 500ml bottle.

Rooms were large and plainly furnished and bathrooms nice enough. Our view was directly on to roof of aforementioned lobby and across to a wall.

The staff were unfriendly and snobby. I would not say that this hotel caters for a couple looking for a week end break. A business conference or golfing club maybe.

I regret having stayed here would have much preferred a friendlier smaller hotel.

We found the food very poor. We had to help ourselves, it had no atmosphere, poor service and a dreadful choice of main courses i.e. thai green chicken curry, lamb cutlet or one other choice that I cant remember. You just do not expect this for a 5 star hotel. Totally regret spending the money to go here!!!!!!
