Quality Hotel Reviews

I stayed in this hotel with family and friends for 3 nights dinner bed and breakfast. I am 22 and i shared a room with my friend who is also 22. On arrival we were allocated to room 80. This was at best the size of a cardboard box and looked like the ceiling was ready to... more

Worst Hotel Ever!!!! (Photographic Proof)
from The_P
The worst hotel I've ever stayed in, like Fawlty Towers. The ceiling caved in onto our bed as we got ready to go to a wedding. The staff found it amusing even though it was life threatening and many of our items were ruined. The second room they put us in was half the size and the shower was broken. Not to mention all the DIY maintenance on tiles and fixtures. I took video and digital photos, we have not received a refund or had our broken valuables replaced. We also paid extra to check in early and the room wasn't ready for an hour later than they promised. They charge premium rates for Fawlty Towers style hotel, utterly ridiculous.
Pleasant for the price

Stayed at this hotel just a week ago. Booked an inter-connecting room, double with a triple room. Both had en-suite bathroom. Rooms and bedding, bathroom all very clean. Car park is sign posted and you leave details of your registration at reception. Made quite clear when booking in. You can also ASK the receptionist which car park you should use! Yes, only 1 receptionist on the desk, and yes someone was checking in before me, but I've waited longer to get served in a shop so what's the problem. If I had to complain it would be about the children's meals. 'Kiddies menu' had a very limited choice, no potatoes, no veg, no sweet (didn't have ice-cream left) - £4.95 for a plate of macaroni. Otherwise children can opt for the full menu but at £18.00 per head, no reduction. Service with a smile from the Restaurant manageress would have been welcome too!

I stayed at this hotel on business with a colleague. We were shocked at the lack of cleanliness and asked to see several rooms. One had an unmade bed from the previous occupant. the fruit flies in the dining room did not add anything to the experience! Since then business colleagues have told me that they would have advised against it if they had known. Apparently you only stay there once!
Worst Hotel Ever!

Large Victorian Station Hotel, charging premium rates! Took two rooms - 1 triple for my wife, our 12 year old son and myself, and a twin room for my two teenage daughters. Both rooms had single beds with cigarette burns in the bed covers, not one floorboard was fixed down properly, and creaked terribly, and had threadbare carpets. My daughter's room had hair in the bath, and in one of the beds. In our room the shower stopped every few seconds. We opted not to have dinner in the hotel as thge set menu was £20.00/head. Breakfast was like something out of "Acorn Antiques" We were charged £300 as a family for this privilage!!

We got married in Perth and had our reception at the Station Hotel. The staff have been so helpful and although there was a bit of a mix up with some of the rooms we had booked for relatives, the problem was quickly retified and smoothed over. The food we had was excellent, served efficiently and flawlessly. We had an early flight the nexy day, so a fridge with continental breakfast was installed for us in our room, which was a lovely touch and very helpful. The hotel has been going through a phase of refurbishment which has been long awaited, and has come through to the other side looking splendid. There are still a few things to be done such as making sure they have adequate disabled facilites such as disabled toilets and rooms (None at present), and there are still a few tired rooms to be updated, but I have to say that the public areas are clean, smart and fresh. All of our guests commented on the fact that the hotel really did us proud, enjoyed their stay and generally had a fabulous time. Well Done Mr. Charalambous and Team! We'd definately stay again.
Dire!!

This is an old Victorian railway hotel which looks impressive from the outside but that is the only thing that is impressive. There was one person at reception both when checking in and out. As a result I had to wait ages. I was lucky enough to overhear another guest complaining that he had received a parking fine for parking outside the hotel. It turns out that this is the railway station's car park, the hotel's is around the back and you have to register your car or you will be fined there as well. None of this information was offered to me. Thr room, although large, had seen much better days. It was decidely shabby and the bathroom was worse - it looked grubby and very uninviting. We booked dinner in the hotel which was another mistake. When I tried to order from the a la carte menu I was informed that everything, including the cold starters would take at least half an hour. They clearly could not be bothered cooking anything other than the pedestian fare on the table d'hote menu. Breakfast was worse. When we arrived at 9:30am on the Sunday we had to queue as no tables available. On eventually getting our table the choice was very limited and most of that was missing. There were no plates, I had to ask twice. There was no OJ, no bacon, no mushrooms , no scrambled eggs and just one very lonely looking piece of black pudding. The tea and coffee were awful and I had to ask twice for milk. The rolls were stale. Needless to say we were glad to escape home after that. DO NOT GO THERE.
The Pleasure/Pain Theory

After a long journey, we arrived at the Quality Hotel in Perth. It is in a prime location for easy access to the beautiful city of Perth. The hotel looks very nice from the outside, but never judge a book by it's cover! Check in was quick and easy. Then we arrived at our room, which had it's good points, but lots of bad points too. The room was very small, and would have been better as a single rather than a double. You could see that it had had new furniture and lights installed, which were nice. The bed was very comfortable, but don't expect plump pillows. Ours were flat as pancakes and smelled slightly musty! There was a good supply of tea and coffee and loads of wardrobe space. Unfortunately, the TV remote didn't work. We left a note for housekeeping, but nothing was done about it. Then we went into the bathroom. I can only assume that the hotel ran out of money when getting the bathroom fitted because it was far from finished! It was a new suite, but the taps on the basin turned when you turned them off, the toilet MOVED when you sat down and stood up, the plughole on the bath had what I can only describe as gunk around it (it may have been sealant, but it was yellow and smelled), and when you had a shower the top left hand corner of the bath dipped when you stood on it. Then we get to the hot water supply. I decided to have a bath, gunk and all. I can only assume that had I left the bath to fill up, it would have taken at least half an hour, as the hot water was little more than a trickle. I gave up after 5 minutes and 3 cms of water and decided to try the shower. If you want a power shower, it will have to be cold, as when you turned it round to the hot part it was again little more than a trickle. Hardly envigourating! The extractor fan doesn't come on when you switch the light on, as in most hotels. You have to manually switch it on on the roof next to it. Although, it doesn't actually appear to extract anything. No wonder that the shower curtain smells of damp! The towels are threadbare and tiny. After driving for 7 hours, all we wanted was a nice bath and to relax. No chance! As the windows are single glazed, you will wake when the traffic starts, as the hotel is just next to the bus station and the train station. We don't know what the food is like, as our price didn't include breakfast, which just adds insult to injury. We wish we had spent a little more money and stayed in a nicer hotel.
Never again
from A TripAdvisor Member
Oh my god thats all I can say !! Never again it stank and smelt like a old folks home!! Last time I smelt a smell like that I was visiting a 90year old. The rooms were like something from the war the 1st one and I didnt even stay to taste the food, I was ment to be in a refurbished one but I highly doubt it. It also said they had play station console but was actually a option to play a play station game on the TV for £2.00 a time. I also had the best view of a hotel dirty roof and bins I had ever seen in my life. I am sure The room used to be some sort of cubard, Just dont do it if you have any sence.

This accomodation, for I can not in all honesty refer to it as a hotel, is absolutley DIRE. The public areas smell of damp, dust and neglect. The carpets want a good clean, although they are extremly threadbare so may not stand cleaning. There are HUGE cracks in walls in... more
