My Wife & I stayed at the Regent Hotel Oban for a 3 night stay. We had requested a sea view room but we got a room overlooking a demolition site.
The Hotel was not booked up throughout our stay, more in for the first night. A coach party was booked in for 1 night only. They appeared to get all the sea view rooms & were also given the sea view tables in the dinning room .
The other 2 days the sea view tables in the dinning room were left empty. No guests were offered a change of rooms despite I for one complaining.
The food was great.
Any one going needs to know in advance that the public carparks in Oban & the street parking is very expensive was 70p an hour between 9am & 6pm now been increased to 80p an hour.
The signs on the public car parks which we found all said no over night parking. The only place to leave your vehicle was the Pier car park & of course you had to start feeding the meter at 9am.
This is not the fault of the Hotel but shows holiday makers that they are not really welcome in Oban by the Argyle & Bute council.
