Le Fjord is centrally situated in Val d'Isere, ideal for the bars and shops. It is quite a big chalet hotel and has its own well-stocked bar. The staff were all friendly and keen to please.
Val d'Isere itself is THE place to ski. There are an enormous variety of runs, from simple blue runs to steep blacks, so there is something for everyone. The lift pass is quite expensive but it covers a huge area.
The rooms at Le Fjord are adequate in size and simply furnished but clean. The food was generally good and there was plenty of it. The evening meal included wine, which was very drinkable! Overall, we found it a good, value-for-money, place to stay.
