Good value for £89 but disappointing if paid full price
We managed to get a room for half price and was really excited about staying in this hotel. The services are great, .e. the valat parking, the gym, the pool and sauna but the steam room was out of order. The room was ok but the travel inn we had stayed in the night before had a fresher room. Simple things spoilt the stay, for example we had no milk on arrival so rang down for some and had to wait 45 minutes. We arranged a wake up call which we never received and worse of all we could hear everything going on in the room above so when... more
Lovely hotel, great service.
4 of us stayed at this hotel for 1 nights DBB basis £50 each, which was excellent value. We have stayed here on 2 previous occasions when we are up for a football match. Checkin-We arrived at 1215 but couldnt get into our room until 3pm, but wasnt a problem. Rooms-Fairly large spacious rooms, very clean, but no air conditioning and very warm during the night, comfy king size bed. ps. ask for a room 1-39 as they have spectacular river views. Meal- Excellent value, good choice from 3 menus, wine was average price, food... more
Down by the riverside
Stayed for 4 nights recently. On my own, but single room was just above main entrance and so I had a great view over river Ness and Castle. Room was compact and didn't have any windows to open, just two large french doors. There was a fan of sorts on the window of one of the doors but didn't seem to work that well. Hotel supplied a free bottle of water each day. Good hearty breakfast which was a buffet and a comfortable lounge/bar area to sit aroung in.
Worth EVERY Penny! I would live here could I afford it!
After a tiny and cramped London room, and the crappiest Paris room ever, I wasn't really expecting much. BUT WOW! Upon arriving, the night manager (Gordon) was the best! Not only did he help in any way possible, but he went above and beyond the call of his job so many times. All of the staff did the same, but Gordon really stood out. And the room! My standard at only 85 pounds a night (great for Inverness) included a great TV, a WONDERFUL view, a CALIFORNIA KING sized bed, drawers too many to count for storage, complimentary this and... more
Very friendly... and great location
I stayed here for the weekend during my wedding anniversary. The pro's: - 1. Location, it's central, parking was fine and we didn't have to drive anywhere. We went for a long walk up the river and over the 'islands', it made a lovely day. 2. Facilities. Good facilities, the gym is quite extensive and the 15m pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzi were all funtional... The hot tub jacquzi is a nice feature and probably the most popular. Everything is central in the hotel so it's not a maze trying to find things. 3.... more
Can't recommend highly enough!
I have recently returned from a fabulous three night stay at the Palace Hotel in Inverness with my boyfriend. It turned out to be the perfect relaxing post Christmas/birthday treat. We were on a budget and after talking to the helpful staff during booking we had booked the All Inclusive break which included the room, breakfast, lunch (a packed lunch if you were going out), a three course dinner and a free bar between 7-10pm each day. In addition all guests have free access to the brilliant spa which includes a pool, gym, jacuzzi,... more
Highly recommended.
Just returned from a girls shopping w/e in Inverness. Stayed at this hotel, we had asked for interconnecting rooms which we were lucky enough to get. Our rooms were at the back of the hotel and we had a great view of the brilliant firework display. The breakfast was great lots of choice. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room were also good just be carefull if you don't wear swimming goggles as the pool was highly chlorined and my friend had really stingy eyes. Read the hotel info as they seem to cater for your every need. WE did not... more
Over priced but friendly
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, but I had one or two problems. The lift had broken, and staff did not seem to have contingency plans for any visitors with mobility problems. The dining room had two small groups in when I arrived to eat, and despite room being half empty, they were reluctant to take me. After a bit of huffing and puffing, I got a table. Food was plentiful, but steak overdone (I asked for rare) However, when I mentioned it, I got a free dessert. Room a bit shabby, but very clean. Bed was rock hard!<br... more
over night stop
Stopped over night here in an "executive" double room for myself and my husband and a single for our son. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Both rooms had a lovely view over the river. The bathrooms were cramped but clean and stocked with very nice "smellies". We ate in the hotel in the evening but because the dining room was full we had to eat in the bar - this turned out to be a good move! We didn't have to get up to get drinks - the bar was right behind us! The meal was good and not too highly priced. There is a decent spa but the... more
No complaints
Well maintained, clean. The rooms can get warm but the windows open wide and allow the room to cool in the evening. The hotel has an excellent location just across the river from the city center but next to the river including a wonderful path for walking in the evenings. The breakfast was good. The hotel caters mostly to bus tours so be carefull that you don't arrive at the dining room at the same time as a tour group. My only criticism is the elevator, which does work but I'm not sure how long. It is very small and incredibly shabby.
