Stayed at the Buchanan Arms Hotel, Drymen for two day conference. Very welcoming and good quality accommodation. Excellent Food on offer. Typical Scottish hospitality

Upon check in, staff were friendly and helpful, offering directions around the Hotel and escorting me to my room with my bags. The room itself was of good standard. We found the leisure facilities extremely relaxing and great value for money, although I was slightly disappointed that the beauty therapist was all booked up for the entire weekend! After reading the previous review and having already booked this trip, it was with some trepidation we arrived at Buchanan Arms for 3 nights. Bearing in mind this is only a 3 star hotel and there is a very good pool and gym part (Robbie Coltrane a member) and the hotel is an old fashioned rambling listed building, which means they are unable to instal lifts etc (they say) our stay was most comfortable. I was recently at a wedding reception at the above hotel. Firstly, on arrival we were herded into a small reception foyer with a bar. There was insufficient seating for all the guests and we were left to stand around for two hours until the bridal party had photographs taken. There were no prices displayed behind the bar and drinks prices were extrememly inflated. We were summoned through for our meal by the maitre d' banging on the wall with a large spoon!
