Station Hotel

I was sent on a training course to Aberdeen so needed somewhere to stay for 4 nights. I have passed through Aberdeen many, many times but never stayed there so I was aware of the Station Hotel. Apparently, it used to be the place to stay but I did feel it was a bit rundown (some of the wallpaper was coming off the wall) and I would probably have stayed somewhere else if I was shelling out £80 a night for a single room out of my own pocket. We stayed for two nights in this hotel, and would stay there again . We arrived early before normal check in time and the receptionist was very friendly and found us a room on the 5th floor and asked us to have a look before taking it . The room was large and clean with a big bathroom , new slimline tv , drinks cooler etc . High Tea served from 4 to 6 was excellent value at £6. My boyfriend and I got a weekend deal for £55 a night for a double room (total cost) and included a buffet breakfast and 3 course dinner!!!!! Breakfast was hot and plentiful, you helped yourself to what you wanted and as much as you liked too. Evening meal was 5* quality and soooooo delicious. 8oz steaks a plenty and sticky toffee pudding yum yum. I booked via email a week in advance requesting a NON-smoking executive double room, with a view if possible, as this was our first trip to Aberdeen. On arrival, after an exhausting 8 hour car journey, we found that we had been booked into a family room on a SMOKING LEVEL that literally reeked of stale cigarettes, and was liberally sprinked with ashtrays. i stayed in the station hotel summer 04 . i was given a room on the 5th floor . never got a wink of sleep due to squaking seaguls all night plus the fact the rooms on the 5th floor are very poor . apart from that not a bad hotel realy with plenty of history, excellent food just stay away from the 5th floor

Got a double room for £60 B&B, bargain for the price, massive room and bathroom, nice and clean, apart from the windows which were old and filthy. It has all the ambience of an old fashioned hotel, though I think the place could do with some refurbishment in places.

Hotel is in a great location and rooms are very spacious. Very happy with decor but maybe better lighting. overall a goog hotel offering good value for money.

A rail blackout forced us to stay in Aberdeen over nite, Got a room here that as $150 for the nite; so you expect a descent place. Room was huge but so poorly lit I expected a vampire to appear. Paper on ceiling was loose and reay to fall on floor any time, wallpaper was peeling; windows were drafty and let in all noise from outside. Room had no heat in main room and none in bthroom which was very cold. Avoid room #115.

Lovely spacious rooms, beautiful decor and very friendly and helpful staff. Great location as right in the city centre next to all the major shops. Were offered a great weekend rate for a hotel.
