Not for families
from marcusI
Booked for 5 nights starting 13th July, when we arrived I was struck by the lack of access for kids/push chairs and no one willing/available to help. Steep incline followed by a number of steps are ahead of the front door. The rooms are quite nice and the decor is modern. I would say that there are to many steps throughout the property. Breakfast is a joke and nearly an insult some cereal and a little bit of fruit with a selection of pasteries ranging in quality, on our second morning there was no room for us in the breakfast room so we were put on the terrace and after reminding staff about our coffee and toast twice left hungry. I complained immediately verbally and in writting that night, no one ever acknowledged my compliant and when we checked out on tues the manager thought we had checked out of the hotel, how good is his guest inormation system!!! A further 4 days were spend lifting 2 push chairs in and out of the hotel and only once did anyone offer to help. Bohemia was good and particular praise is due to the pastry/desert chef. All in all Definately not for families and they dont deal with compliants very well.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Club for 3 nights at the start of July and were both very impressed with the standards set. The accommodation and service is excellent with friendly, attentive staff and good quality facilities throughout. The rooms are clean, not overly spacious, but well designed and with modern decor. Bathrooms, whilst again not overly spacious, are fresh and have some nice touches. The spa facilities are very plush, the experience shower is a must, and whilst it is disappointing that the facilities can only be used at certain times we could appreciate why this is so. A meal at the Bohemia is a must, we booked in on a Tuesday evening so it was not particularly busy and had a nice atmosphere. Again, the staff were vey attentive and polite and the food was excellent; I'm no Gordon Ramsey but the presentation and more importantly the taste was superb. I would be more than happy to book into The Club again and as we were only in Jersey for a few days have the perfect excuse to go back again soon. The old adage 'you get what you pay for' is perfectly illustrated here.
Hot Stone Massage - Wow - Experience Shower - Fantastic

From the moment we arrived and our bags were carried from the car, to the seating in the Honesty Bar and being served complimentary champagne, going for breakfast of which we opted for Eggs Benedict which were outstanding and just what was required at 9 am in the morning after rising from our beds at 4 am to catch our flight there. The staff were courteous polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and everyone made you feel really special. The management gave us a free upgrade on arrival - maybe because it was my birthday and the manager took time out each day to say hello and have a short but friendly conversation with myself and my daughter. The rooms were gorgeous, chaise longue, lcd tvs, dvd, b & o telephones, complimentary toiletries and the most fabulous frette linen and mattress overlays - I have never slept so well. The rooms could be larger but working with what space there is - they are furnished fabulously including everything from the mini bar to the mile high kit! The meal in the Michelin Star restaurent was to die for and the food was the best I have ever tasted, for desserts we opted for the palate of taster dishes and it was fantastic. The service, the staff the food the ambience - everything was first class. The second evening we ate in New York Cafe - which the same chef runs who runs the restaurent and as expected the food there was equally tasty although a more widely cosmopolitan menu, than the exquisite choices of the previous evening. The spa treatments were sensational, we swam in the pool, went in the sauna, the steam rooms and the experience shower. We waited in the relation rooms for our treatments and my daughter had to be roused by shaking her as two or three gentle nudges did not wake her, the water music playing through headphones in our ears, the glasses of water/champagne and the comfortable warm towel laden beds left you feeling you had died and gone to heaven. if this was how the other half lived I could get used to it. Breakfast was served on the second day in our room and it was sensational, a seasonal selection of fruit was a week's worth!! It was a truly wonderful break. The Hot Stone Massage, Salt scrub and facial performed by different therapists in different rooms but at the same time earned a united thumbs up from both of us. My therapist was absolutely fantastic and the 1 hour 20 mins hot stone massage is the best experience I have ever had. I cannot thank the staff, or the hotel enough, other than to say I hope one day we get to come back again.
good service
from TheMcs
The service is very good at this hotel the spa is lovely and the outdoor pool area was nice to sit in. It was a shame the outdoor pool is too cold to swim in, for me anyway. I would agree with others the rooms and bathrooms particularly are small. The bar area is also too noisey and smokey. The hotel needs a larger bar for residents the honesty bar area was not big enough. The breakfast selection was also quite limted on the buffet. The location is not the prettiest either an area filled with concrete office blocks. Still nice enough though
Excellent Service

My partner and I spent 3 nights in The Club in May of this year. We decided to go to jersey to get married and booked the club for the 3 nights over our wedding day. Having read all the reviews we had fairly high expectations which were met from the minute we pulled up in our hire car. The staff were extremely pleasant and couldn't do enough to help us. On our wedding day we had friends come to the hotel and the staff were more than pleasant to them and even let all 5 of us (only my partner and I were staying in the hotel) make use of the honesty bar on returning from the registry office. The day following our wedding every member of staff we met asked us how our day went. Unfortunately we were unable to book Bohemia for our wedding meal so didn't eat there on our stay but we had drinks in the bar and the staff there were yet again very helpful, the bar was expensive but we had expected that so it was fine. My husband and I plan to return to the Club next may for our first annivesary.
Management were disgraceful - Daylight Robbery
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel itself is of a good quality, I would however strongly disagree with its generous five star award. Upon arrival, there was a great deal of confusion in respect of checking in. The staff were extremely disorganised and there was no real clear procedure. Following this, we were given a brief tour around the hotel which was anything but comprehensive and left us with little understanding of the available facilities. Having then been shown our room, we were left to dwell in what was at first impressions a well furnished accomodation - we later found it to be the scene of a daylight robbery. The use of almost anything constituted a charge and a charge which was without a doubt - out of proportion. The window faced a wall and was not worth the £175 cost per room per night. When paying for a 5* hotel you expect a strong standard of service. My colleague required some products from a shop - however, the hotel was understaffed and nobody was able to go for her. This I found disappointing. Regardless, we continued our evening using the well stocked 'Honesty Bar' which is open 24 hours for residents use. Having had a few glasses of wine - we were approached by the confused receptionist regarding our payment for the room and goods. I had previously given credit card details but these were in fact incorrect at no fault of my own. I then had to contact a colleague and ask him for his credit card details which took a great deal of explaining, however, the hotel staff were rudely impatient - locking the front door to the hotel in view of their own thoughts that we may try and escape! I obtained credit card details and offered them to the reception but they seemed to have a consideration that we were fraudsters of some form and refused to accept the new credit card details I had been given. This to me seemed very illogical. Whilst being locked in the lobby by staff and having the police called - we were addressed as 'kiddies' regardless of the fact that I am an Executive Director for a youth organisation. Comments were made by staff to me which were: personal; unfounded; and obscene. Luckily, my colleague arrived at the hotel in time as the police arrived in the driveway. I can't imagine what could have otherwise happened. Would I stay there again? I wouldn't set foot in the place. This is a hotel of daylight robbery, disorganisation and lack of standard. Be warned!!!
Never Again!

Dont eat at the Bohemia on a Friday or Saturday evening unless you have a gas mask and noise cancelling headsets! We have just returned from The Club and were very surprised by the 5 star rating it was granted. As previous reviewers (supported by the pictures) have indicated you need to walk around to the back of the hotel past all the bins to reach the reception. However the service received throughout the hotel is excellent from the mostly Polish staff and the glass of champagne is a nice touch on arrival as our bags were taken to our room. We stayed in a deluxe room which was nice but very small for the price and class of hotel. The bathrooms whilst sumptuous in granite were even smaller. When showering in the bath the glass screen restricts access as it is unable to fully open out because it bangs against the knee high sink. We chose the Club Hotel for the combination of the Spa and the michelin rated restaurant. The Spa does not disappoint. The treatments are superb and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. However the restaurant which is supposed to be the jewel in the crown is 8-10 tables at the end of what can only be described as an overcrowded wine bar. On Friday night we cancelled our reservation when we walked to our table through thick cigarette smoke and the most amazing noise levels. The bar was heaving with people with no standing room left and most appeared to be smoking and shouting to be heard. Holding a conversation at your table would have been near on impossible and tasting food in between inhaling cigarette smoke not what you would expect in a 'non smoking' restaurant. On balance Jersey is a beautiful island with great hotels/spas and restaurants. We could have accepted the poor location of the Club if it ticked the other boxes however it did not.
Wonderful

Fantastic. Great breakfast, lovely staff, perfect bed - what can I say?! This place comes highly recommended. OK - so the basin in the bathroom is a little low (oddly low actually) but otherwise it is like a trip to heaven. Do yourself a favour. One thing - the lowest grade bedrooms are a little small - so if you can manage it upgrade to the next one up - it's worth it. However, even in the most basic bedrooms I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
wonderful, definitely going back
from StephaniefromUK
Just got back from a 2 night stay and it really lived up to my expectations. Your luggage is whisked away, they greet you by name as you walk in and you have a glass of champagne before being shown around. The room was not huge but the bed was and was very comfortable, all the high quality accessories one expects were there, plus personal touches such as a handwritten note from the manager. Everything oozes the designer touch. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. We ate in the New York Cafe the first night and the food was wonderful, in fact we wondered why we had bothered to book the Bohemia (Michelin starred) restaurant for the following night......however I am glad we kept the reservation as that meal was just incredible. We had the 7 course taster menu, which includes different wines with each course. Worth every penny of the £95. Continental breakfast was high quality and more than sufficient, but my husband ordered eggs benedict the first morning and a full Irish the second at extra cost; he said it was the best cooked breakfast he had ever had. The Spa is good, you have to go downstairs to the pool but the pool area is very calm and relaxing. We both had a very good aromatherapy massage and I had a Club facial before I left which was excellent.
Push the boat out at the Club!
from denbydaler
Chose to 'push the boat' out whilst stopping at Jersey for three nights en route back to the UK from Alderney and couldn't have chosen better. Attentive staff, super rooms (although the views are v.lmited) and a great indoor pool & spa. Although pricey the attached Bohemia restaurant (with its Michelin star) is a must to top off your stay. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Had very high expectations of this hotel having read quite a lot of reviews - the check in was slow as the hotel was full and we were stood around for a while and told we could not check in until after three - never shown round the hotel with champagne as other people seem... more
